I am on dial-up but this morning everything is sooooooooooo slooooooooow, I read magazines between trying to post something or read a post.

I feel for you, I'm on high speed and found it much the same, so I can only imagine how bad it was on dial up

It's slow for me too...again! It was really creeping along last night, and now again today it's really slow, and I was having problems a couple days ago too. And it's just DG, not other websites so I know it's not my internet connection or computer.

I thought it was my computer, yes it's very slow switching between pages.

Yea, it seems to be running much better today.

We have the same problem here in Ireland ....too slow to make things interesting
But - I have an answer for you that may help especially if you are on dial up.
We have installed "onspeed" - I believe it works by not downloading all the "detail" straight away - this is mainly in photos
For example - a photo looks slightly out of focus - then if you wish to make it clearer you right click on the photo and click "show original images"
It cost approx £25...but in my opinion it has been sooooo worth it - although its still not quite broadband, I am not getting those long periods where nothing happens

I'm having problems again...it'll go fine for a little bit, then it starts to get hung up on pages again. It's been like this pretty much every day this week, hope whatever is going on gets fixed soon.

We definitely had some problems yesterday evening, but they only lasted a couple hours and only made the site a little slower. The past 24 hours have been flawless, however. See the attached image to show the graph of the data output of the 3 front end webservers for DG - they show that they have consistently sent data out all day (indicating that the site has been running fine).

It might be a problem with your ISP?

I don't know what's going on then, I was noticing the same problem this morning at home again. I don't see how it could be my ISP or my computer though because all the other websites I go to load fine. And I've also noticed the problem at work on our fast network connection, obviously it moves faster there but still pages hang for longer than on other sites. Oh well, hopefully it'll straighten itself out! Maybe my computers have sensed that I spend too much time on DG and it's their way of encouraging me to do other things!

nope, I'm extremely slow also.......so slow that it's too frustrating to even be on.

It has its moments here...sometimes it runs good other times it's slow as molasses. ecrane, I think you're right, our computers are trying to tell us something...just thought of something, the last 3 posts here from Californians, maybe it's just us! Hmmmmm, something to ponder!

It was doing the same thing to me last night, haven't noticed it today but I've only been on from my work computer (over lunch of course!) so we'll see what happens on my home computer tonight. That would be really weird if it was something just about California--can't think of why that would be but it is a strange coincidence that we're the only ones having problems now!

Yes it would! It does look mighty suspicious, huh? I'm sure that's not the case though, mine is running pretty good today. Let me know how yours runs when you get home.

Mine is better today, but still slow, and no I don't live in CA

It's doing the same old thing to me tonight--goes OK for a brief period, then pages start hanging up, then it'll be OK for a minute or two, then back to being slow. It's not quite as slow tonight as it has been some other days this week, but it's definitely slower than other web pages I'm going to. And unfortunately the periods of slow loading last much longer than the periods of loading quickly!

LOL Rutholive! Yes, ecrane, mine does the same thing, runs well for awhile then hangs up again. Was running fine earlier. May be a little glitch somewhere.
