This was forwarded to me from a fellow coworker and is legit. I also know the doctors involved in this and they have an excellent reputation. Would really appreciate your vote!
Thanks!

Really Need Your Help
Done! Thanks for caring enough to become involved.
Done!! Jo
Have voted. Should we vote once a day or what is the protocol? Elaine
Good question on the voting once a day. Can we?
Done, I also sent this to my entire email contact list..so maybe we can make this happen for this young man! Bless you for thinking of him!
JanetS
It states on the site only one vote for three people "once" from any address..so I think not.
Done and good luck to him.
I voted and will keep my fingers crossed. Have you thought of posting this in the Parking Lot forum? Lots of kind people there who like to help others.
Good luck to Ben.
Good Luck, the other 2 I voted for were people that probably have NO insurance (I have none, so I voted for my peeps).......
done, but i just have to say how sad i think it is that a person has to get enough votes to have the gift of sight bestowed upon them. i want everyone to have that gift. ~sigh~
Done, so sad that this isn't available for all. Wish we had a National Health Plan, even though it is not perfect (ask Canadians) it would be a lot better for some coverage, than NO coverage.
done..glad to help.
my vote is cast for Ben
I voted the other day from home. I'll try to vote from work tomorrow.
Done, and good luck to Ben.
Thanks a lot!
Glad you posted this ~ I'd heard about it on the radio. Ben seems like a fine young man and very deserving of this procedure. I cast my vote and sure hope he gets it.
I voted for Ben. Imagine my shock when I went to the page, and right there was one of my co-workers! I didn't vote for her.
Done! Good luck Ben!
Ben got my vote too. Thanks for sharing this opportunity.
I voted for Ben! I don't know about Canada, my Dad lives there (his wife's Canadian). They wouldn't treat her mother for cancer because she was "not a good risk" ie too old. That blew my mind!
PrairieGirl they do a stress test here.....if the heart isn't strong enough for surgery/treatment (if that is what she needed) they won't do the surgery/treatment. My Grandmother was 82 and they discovered cancer in her kidney. She passed the stress test and they removed her kidney.
My other Grandmother was 96 when they discovered cancer in her stomach.....they wouldn't do the surgery because she wouldn't survive it (or the chemo treaments).
edited to say I voted for Ben.

Oh thanks Lilypon, that's been bothering me for years. Her own family didn't seem to mind, but I kinda liked the crusty old gal. She was very kind to me and my daughter, and I was very upset.
I don't blame you. I know when we were far away from all that was happening (we lived 7 hours north at the time) we often weren't informed of all the details. The family that accompanied them to the doctor would hear one thing....... but in the retelling of the doctor's visit we'd get a condensed version. It wasn't until we moved back, and Grandma and I were visiting, that I discovered what was missed.
Sounds like a good cause, I hope Ben wins the surgery.
done.
done. just my 2 cents here.
to give more assistance, the best thing we all can do is pass the link to all our email family and friends. the young lad should get more votes that way. what do u think?
Good luck!!!
Done
I did read his story but was confused. On one hand, he was 18 when he had his accident and at 21 he gave up on walking. States it takes his mother half an hour to put in his contact lenses but then later on he talks about watching his kids playing with the dogs. I am confused. Can someone clarify this?
Ok, I went back and reread it and it appears watching kids running was one of his goals....
I voted.

Voted for Ben.
Voted for Ben
I've been voting everyday but I just noticed that the small print says only one vote per IP address will be accepted so I guess voting everyday doesn't help him at all. rats! Time to send the link to some other peeps!
The DG crew is at it again!! I'll tell everyone I know! Good luck to Ben!!
Caren
Done ! Good luck and God bless ! Margo
