Why was StarhillForest kicked out of DG?

An active member of DG in, especially trees & shrubs, was removed from DG and as a community member I'd like to understand why. He was contributory to many discussions, has extensive experience and knowledge in the genus Quercus and seems pleasant by all respects. I just want to understand why. He is missed in the Trees & Shrubs forum.

growin - Just rest asure that any time Dave removes a member he works hard with them first to get things worked out and they are only removed after all other chances are used up. It is always sad at the loss of a member but trust Dave keeps working for the best od the Garden.

MitchF - AMEN!! He is very patient and goes much farther than any one of us would to resolve the issue/problem before removing the person from the site.

I have only seen a handful of members removed from DG in all the time I've been here. It is always for the peace of the rest of us and not done lightly.

StarhillForest still has an active member page. Could be on extended leave (time out), or absent by choice.

Guy has contributed much and often; I guess he got out-of-bounds with admin.

When you are really gone from DG, you get the big REMOVED tag next to the user name, and maybe even get treated like Moses -- all trace of you is erased from the historical record (see Ramses' dictates in The Ten Commandments).

Terry will be along sometime to give the full answer. She was at the front of handling that issue, and no small controversy was created by this member and a few others related to it.

Guy has not been removed and never was (and that tells you just how accurate the rumor mill is....something we should all keep in mind when someome passes along a juicy tidbit of gossip.)

We temporarily suspended his account due to some overzealous editing on his part, which he acknolwedged. There was also a pretty serious disagreement and charges made on both sides of a private issue that should be kept private. His posts have been restored along with his ability to post. End of story - if everyone can agree to let it drop.

Well, ok then. I told him a week ago or so to just login so he tried. He said, "Nope -- just tried it again to make sure. No access." on 11/11/06. Um, did someone forget to flick a switch 'cause he is under the understanding that he's been kicked off. I'm sorry if I have caused any further misunderstanding but if I wasn't able to login I'd understand the same.

He is able to login whenever he is ready. I've corresponded with Guy several times throughout this issue, and he knows how to get in touch if he has questions or needs assistance.

And if he (or anyone) has questions or can't login, they can always reach us via the "Contact Us" link, visible to every visitor and member and is found at the bottom of every page of the site.

Terry, he was ready and tried. It appears the temporary suspension is still active.

If he's having trouble logging in, he can contact us directly (or he can reply to the email Terry sent him last night)

Hello everyone -- yes, Terry reactivated my account yesterday. Prior to that I was unable, for whatever reason, to log on. I appreciate your concerns and good will, and I've known many of you as friends even from back in the days of The Dark Side. But I had a very disagreeable experience with two of the people here, lost my cool, started deleting my own posts, and was blocked for doing so. Terry's post of 12 November is accurate in that regard, and I suggest we all should just leave it there.

I don't plan to post here anymore for the foreseeable future as long as the members with whom I had problems remain here, but I would always welcome e-mail contacts and hope to run into more of you during my travels.
