Music forum

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Is there a forum where I can post questions about music or is there a music forum and I'm not seeing it? From piano to guitar to songs...anything to do with music?

We have a general "Media" type forum here:

http://davesgarden.com/place/f/bookworms/all/

It's currently labeled "Books, Movies, and TV". Maybe we should add "Music" to that?

Yes, please, could you add music???!! Or maybe a music forum all by its lonesome????!!!!!!
Thank you.

I've often wondered about this, too. The Artisans forum just didn't quite seem like the place. I bet there's a lot of music lovers in Dave's garden, I know of at least a couple musicians.

Yes, I'm sure there is...there's one here!

...and Dave's probably thinking..."thanks Weegy, another forum to have to maintain!"

There's a few music threads there already...maybe they (books, movie,tv people) wouldn't mind more

I wouldn't think so, maybe Dave would though!

I'm an on and off amateur musician myself and hope to learn to build musical instruments someday. (Yes, I know. That's woodworking. :-) ) I wouldn't mind seeing a place for music people to hang out.

Yea, another supporter!!! I'm looking for someone that plays the concertina, my mom bought my dad one years ago in Germany and just need some simple advice. I also play piano and just think that a music forum would be cool!

Not enough interest for a music forum I guess??!?!!?

I would love a place to maybe trade or swap copies of piano music. I have 100's of books and would like to copy and trade songs with others..I have all types of music..Also sheet music..

I have all kinds.. Country, classical, gospel, love songs, just about anything...Are you looking for something special? I would be glad to share if I have it..I don't have a wish list at this minute, but would still like to share ...

Well I'm definitely not a musician, which is why I didn't respond to this thread the first time around, but I do love music and I got to thinking, a music forum could also be a place to chat about:

- what new music do you like?
- what's playing on your cd right now?
- what's your top 10 favourite ambient, rock, country, jazz, classical songs?
- favourite chill out music?
- favourite party songs?
- favourite songs by.....
Well, you get the idea.

I have tons (ok over 2,000) songs in my music library on my computer and have a very eclectic taste, which I don't think is unusual in these days of digital music. I think they call it 'your life's soundtrack' now, isn't that what it's called? lol Anyway, basically all those in the same generation will know all the same songs because it's what we grew up with. Even a generation before, being influenced by what their parents played on the 'record player'. Then there's the songs and music that we like NOW. I can't say there's any one genre of music that I like the best. There's only a few genres that I generally don't like, although there's always a song or two that will break that barrier too.

Basically, I think I'd like a place to talk about what my peers are listening to and discovering new music. There's a mountain of music behind what is on the radio, just waiting to be discovered). We could talk about music subscription, downloading, satellite radio, etc. there's a whole new wave going on.

Music and gardening are my top two favourite leisurely pursuits. Next would be photography...and dancing (fat chance for a forum on that, me thinks. LOL!!)

Anybody else out there love to discover new music??

.... and Dave, if you were to consider this new forum, please make Music it's own forum. I couldn't imagine watering it down to be included with TV and movies. Music touches all our lives, whether playing instruments, singing or simply listening and enjoying it.

I am all for a music forum!! I love to listen and play music and I used to sing though that's been several years now. lol. So Dave, PLEASE give us a music fourm!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

I'd given up but I still think that a music forum would be of interest to alot people.
Sandy, thanks for the list of all kinds of things we could chat about in the forum, I would have to add karaoke to the list, we are a karoakeing family and I'm excited that I'm getting a great new karaoke system.
I play piano and would love to learn to play the concertina that my dad had always wanted to play but never did. (He's passed.)I also have an accordion that I have had sitting here for years that I don't know how to play.
...Dave???
Please! Music does derserve its own forum.
