Evryone, Meet First Belle!

Fountain, FL(Zone 8a)

LOL...Bj you're funny! I looked for my pics of First Belle...no luck unless they're in my film camera. I feel like a real dummy cause I KNOW I took pics. She is in my "grow house". Her seed pod is getting bigger and she has buds fixin' to open...when they do I'll take more pics and try hard not to let them get lost in the shuffle this time. :-))

Been meaning to snail mail ya..on a personal level I love the name First Belle. The cutting you sent me lived in a pot behind the bench in my Memory Garden until jumping into the grow house. The first grave in front of the bench is Rhodie Belle's. *sniff* Sooo I think the name First Belle is really cool!! at least to me.

"First Belle" is the perfect name for her. I would love for her to be the first Brug I see every morning :)) God bless, Margo

Just wanted to report that my cutting is finally getting some white bumps and a couple of them have started to lengthen into real roots, so I potted it up today and it's living amongst the other wintering-over plants under the lights in the basement. I'll keep you posted on how she's doing!

I am happy to say that I FINALLY have some leaves sprouting! I was beginning to wonder if it was going to take off or not. I'm doing the happy dance!

Wow...Beautiful brug

Lewiston, CA(Zone 7b)

Glad to hear she is doing well. We have had such cold weather that the GH is limping along. I hope that we get more warmer days soon so all of the plants will come out of their funk. It is suppose to rain, that will at least warm us up. I am so tired of 24 degree weather.

Northwest, OH(Zone 5b)

24°?

24°???????

Yesterday's high here was 3° and it's -2° right now.

LOL.

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

Oh, k, I don't think I could take that. Southern blood thinks it's cold below 50.

Northwest, OH(Zone 5b)

While it's true that you become accustomed to wherever you live, I would much prefer it to be warmer. A LOT warmer. LOL.

Myrtle Beach, SC

Hi Everyone :) It's cold here in Myrtle Beach, SC...last night it was below 28 and to me, that's rediculous LOL !!
I can't wait for Spring and warmer weather and seedlings growing (and maybe blooming?) and all the fun of new growth...oh, Spring puh-lease hurrrry !!!
Kbaumie please post pictures as she grows....I just can't wait !!
BJ...just how "abnormal" is this cold weather in your area ??
I just bought the Brug and Dat book on Amazon to try to learn more...my DH says I bought it to learn what else I "needed" to buy, lol. The pictures are gorgeous....oh, to have some of them...lol, all of them...and a full time garden helper and 30+ greenhouses....LOL...guess I'm getting carried away here.
God bless, Margo

Hi Margo, We don't normally get that cold. Most winters get down around 29-30 on a reg. basis. So this has been pretty cold for us. At 14, most everybody's water froze up. Some for weeks. We are not required to bury the pipes deep for colder weather. I bet things will change with the building codes.
My god 2 degrees! I couldn't live in a place that got that cold! Guess I'm a wimp!
Luckily it has warmed up a bit, now we are getting much needed rain. My Brugs are starting to sprout new leaves. They must know something I do not! Bj

Just thought I'd post a couple of picture from my 'First Belle' that Bj shared with me. It's now in my greenhouse in my basement. VERY large bloom and it was a deep pink for me. Soooooo pretty!
