Is it the same as copy and pasting the link? What does Rid____ and search your journal____mean what do you put in those spaces?
Importing a plant to your journal Jump to RID: Search your journal:
New rid: 112267 The plant has been added!
Click here to select a category for it.
How do I link a plant to my journal?
I'm a little confused on what you're actually asking, but I'll try to answer what I think your questions are--let me know if I miss something! There's also a DG journals and diaries forum which would be a better place to post questions about your journal.
First, where it has RID and Search your Journal with boxes, if you know the RID (the number that is given to every entry you make in your journal) of the plant you're looking for, you can type it in there (personally, I never pay any attention to the numbers that the system generates for entries, so I never, ever search my journal this way). I generally use the other box--there you can enter the name of the plant that you're looking for in your journal and it will find it for you right away so you don't have to dig through your 10,000 entries of different perennials looking for it (for example).
I'm not sure I know what you're asking in the last part of your post--the lines you're quoting look like you were in Plant Files and used the "Import this plant to your journal" link which is the correct way to establish a link betwee your journal and PF. The plant is now part of your journal, if you click the link about selecting a category then you can choose which category to move it into, after that you will see links that will allow you to go to the entry itself where you can edit, etc. If you don't choose a category, the plant is still in your journal, you can find it by going to "access by status" and you'll find it under the "unknown" status, from there you can move it to a new category if you want. When you view the entry for a plant that you've imported this way, you can scroll to the bottom of the entry and you'll see a link that says "this plant is in Plant Files" and you can click on it to take you to the PF entry (caveat...there is a bug or something which sometimes makes this link not be there in the entry after you've imported...so if this happens don't worry, you haven't done anything wrong.)
thanks I think I have it figured out..lol..
