Dave, didn't you agree, after the last chat that the chat room and it's contents were open to all members, whether or
not they could gain access, or were otherwise detained. Now, those of us, like myself, with nothing more than a
tin can and a string are left out of the
circle. If it were them, they might feel
differently.

Not only did I agree to that, Jerrie, but I was the one who intially wrote that.

But, members came to me and presented a different point of view. If at a certain time, there are only 2 people in the chatroom, then it becomes something of a private conversation, even though anybody can walk in at any time. We want folks to have fun and enjoy themselves, and some may be afraid to venture into chats if we post the contents of the chat every week.

Are you sure there's no way for you to access the chat? Have you tried everything you could, and read the previous threads on the subject?

Dave, positively no way! I have an Internet Appliance, not a regular computer, and I do darn good just
getting my messages out there. I
can not get into any chat room where
java has to be enabled, as I have no
java......I guess I have to resign myself to being the "odd man out".

You aren't the odd man out, many of us cannot chat. While I can easily use the chat room its open too late for me, I do try and stay up late enough to say hello, I can't do it often.

I have to say though that I agree with the other chatters, sometimes conversations can get a little off the wall or into general how are you stuff which are between 2 or 3 people who are present at the time and they may not want everyone knowing their business.

Don't be too down hearted the best material is right here on the forums.

Thanks, Baa. But, I can't help but wonder if their conversations are so private that they don't want anyone to "wander" into them, why can't they simply email each other.....then they
don't have to worry about "eavesdroppers"! Anyone see my point?

Baa's right, the forums are where the good stuff is.

The chatroom is largely just bantering around and enjoying an evening chatting about nonsense. It's fun, but the real meat is right here on the forums.

Dont fret about being left out. There's lots of friendly forums. Why don't you pop over to the UK forum? There's some new people just joined us. We'd more than happy to welcome someone else. Felt we'd been getting a bit quiet lately. Perhaps we should do something about that? Maybe I could be persuaded it's Cream Tea time again. If you ask me nicely!!!!

I too am never able to join the Chat room. Not because of the computer but because of my insane work schedule. But I figure that gives the rest of you a chance to talk about how wonderful I am with out my getting a swell head over it!

I know that wrapped up inside one of those wonderful stories of yours I would come across as some kind of wonderful character full of eccentricities and charms that are not found in the original! I won't be able to read it so my head will stay its normal 2 sizes too large!
