Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

Yea,I can play this game.Got my card sent in.

Grand Forks, BC(Zone 5b)

Wish I could play, but just as Woofens was, we are in the midst of making a move in 2 weeks. Don't know how long it will take to get set up in the new location. I am packing boxes right now. So much fun!!! NOT

Have fun and good luck to everyone!

Don Ü

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Oh, Don, play along with us anyway! As I said, I won't be shipping leaves to Canada, but if a Canadian player wins there will be some prize, even if it's just a run at my seed stash! (Hey, you'll be in a new house next spring... you'll need seeds!)

Drumheller, Alberta, Canada(Zone 3a)

Donm47,
Play anyways, I will watch your card when you can't!
We can all use new seeds!! LOL
Dawna

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

I'll get mine in cable on my computer went down yesterday late afternoon got it back up and running this morning :))

Grand Forks, BC(Zone 5b)

OK, maybe I will. I appreciate you watching my card for me Dawna. I'll go through the list and pick and send my card to Lauri soon. Thanks for the "push" Jill and Dawna. Maybe it's just the kind of fun distraction I need right now. Ü

Don

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

Yes, Don....moving *requires* fun distractions!!

Would a few people like to pool together for a gift card prize like last time?
I could contribute a few bucks...not much, but if several of us did it together....??

I don't get online at night or on weekends...so hope to hear soon if anyone wants to do that?

(Zone 1)

Hey:

I will contribute a few bucks to a gift card prize too! Great Idea!

Lin

Homosassa, FL(Zone 9a)

Nan
me to be glad to, d mail me and let me know where to send it
starfly

Grand Forks, BC(Zone 5b)

Me too. just let me know where to send and how much. Good idea, Nan!

Don Ü

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Nan count me in on the gift card..d-mail me with info. Great Idea.....Lauri

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

Oh, no....don't tell me you want me to handle it??!?!?!
I wouldn't know where to begin....Allison....who took care of the last one?

I guess I could do it if someone 'guided' me (LOL!) but.....again, I don't get online at night or on weekends, so wouldn't be able to communicate with anyone during that time, so that might not be a good idea.

What do you all think?

Anyone else willing to collect the 'funds' and purchase the card when all is said and done?

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

I will contribute, just let me know where and when! Sounds like a great idea!

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

I think the gift card sounds like a wonderful idea, but since I'm still hoping the weather will cooperate for me to send leaf boxes to the winners, why don't we do a gift card prize for the next Bingo game? That way we could continue the fun after Thanksgiving! How does that sound?

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

May I get in on this too, please? So, I just pick 15 names from the list above and send them to lauriwilson?

Thanks,
Mendy

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Yep, that's it in a nutshell, Mendy! Glad to have you!

It can also be useful to print out your list of 15 so you can easily check off the calls on your "card."

(Zone 1)

Critter:

Sounds great to me! I want AV leaves to try rooting!

This may sound like a dumb question, but what do you mean about hoping the weather will cooperate? Do you grow AV's outside? Just curious. Maybe I've lived in Florida too long .... the sun has damaged my skin, maybe it's fried my brain a little too! LOL

I've never been lucky at "regular" bingo, so don't know how I'll do at "African Violet" Bingo, but I like the idea anyway! It sounds like a lot of fun!

Since a box of AV leaves is what was already planned for this one, maybe a December Bingo would be good for the Gift Card. Either way, I'm In!

Lin

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Thanks! My "card" is in. :o)

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

I might have to "borrow" this idea and use it in the daylily forum....if that is ok? ;o)

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

No matter to me, either, critter....I was just thinking it'd be fun to have a long prize list like last time....but then again, it would be fun to get multiple people to contribute for a really nice gift card in the future, too!!
You're in charge...it's entirely up to you! (Ü)

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

Whatever works for you Critter...I will help anyway I can..just let me know...I would LOVE to get the leaf cuttings....more babies to watch grow!

MGH - Daylily BINGO...oh my....we could start a bingo for all of the different things...then NONE of us would get anything done except for checking our cards each day! LOL Wouldn't that be a great winter though....bingo to win all kinds of things for the garden...

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

I don't get anything done anyway!! LOL

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

LOL that would be fun....something fun to do in the winter besides watch it rain....Lauri

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Your Bingo game Jill Your show your say :)) Last month's Bingo started with Gift card as I wanted ( and I have no AV plants to do a game with leaves ) to Sponcor a Bingo game and have a fun fast game until Jill felt well :)) Then we had so many kind Gift Donaters :))
Bingo Year Round is a great idea we should keep it going year round yeah ! Any gift prize is great ! A book, supllies....so anyone who wants to sponcor December, Jan, Feb, March Bingos can think of different gift prizes or get with that month's Bingo Sponcor and collect some $$ for gift cards !

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Yes, my thought was that as much as I appreciated everybody's offer to chip in for extra prizes for this game, it would be even more fun to use those prizes in future games so we could keep playing all winter! I sure hope nobody feels like I was being a wet blanket when everybody was being so generous.

Lin, I was talking about the weather cooperating for shipping. As I said in the first post, with the cold snaps we've been having, I'll have to keep an eye on the weather forecast at both ends and time shipping accordingly for the prize box(es)

When we get close to the end of the game, I'll start scouting around the plant shelves and pulling out AVs that could use a bit of a trim... that will give me an idea of whether I can send out one or two or more leaf boxes... Once I start looking, I always seem to come up with a few extras, but I didn't want to promise more than 10 varieties for sure. I can probably include some non-gessie extras too if the winner(s) would like a few houseplant cuttings or seeds.

:-)

(Zone 1)

Critter:

I love most any kinds of plants, so, the AV leaves or houseplant cuttings, or seeds, it all sounds great to me!

I guess I wasn't thinking about shipping & the cold weather up north! We're still in the 80's down our way! So, hey, if any plants were to be heading south, the weather wouldn't be a problem! LOL

Lin

Northeast, NE(Zone 5a)

You can count me in again this month : ) This is too much fun to miss out on : ) Sending my picks tonight : ) Good Luck Everyone! : )
Nancy

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

I love seeds ! and house plant cuttings too :)) Sounds fun ! Another Perfect Bingo :)) Thanks Jill.
You all can decide who will be Sponcoring Decmeber's Bingo ~ Getting it organized and list put together to post when Jill's Bingo is finished !
Who will be Sponcoring Demeber's, Jan, Bingos !

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Yippee.....we are up to 28 players now....This is going to be another fun game..
LOL the only house plants I have living are 8 giant long spiders......but seed mmmmmmm let me look...Lauri

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Yippee...

Thomasville, GA(Zone 8a)

Count me in for the gift card idea when it's appropriate. This sounds like fun and I appreciate l the work that all of you do. Thanks. Elaine

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Heya! We just got back to Frederick after a fun weekend in Pittsburgh. We stayed with my folks, so I had fun planting some bulbs for them in the morning... I got a real workout chiseling out little pockets between the roots of the big maples, but I did manage to plant about 250 small bulbs (crocus mix, miniature yellow daffs, mini blue dutch iris). Last year, I think she had maybe 6 blooms remaining of all the crocus she'd planted years ago, and they look forward to those first spring blooms, so I thought it was a worthwhile effort. Saturday night was a wedding & dinner reception for two of Jim's coworkers, and today we were at my brother's, celebrating our nephew's 5th birthday. All great fun!! :-)

I hope everybody got their cards in! Errors can be fixed up until the first call is posted tomorrow, so please take a moment tonight or tomorrow morning to double check your card. Make sure you have 15 different names on your list, LOL. I assume Lauri has been confirming via Dmail that she has received your cards... If you have not heard from her that she got a card from you, then it may not have reached her!

I will start a new thread for the actual game tomorrow and will post a link to it on this thread also.

:-)

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

Wake up

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

I'm awake!

First Bingo call won't be until after noon, as I said at the top of this thread. Since I knew I'd be offline over the weekend, I wanted to have a chance to touch base with Lauri and make sure we were "all systems go" before starting the game.

:-)

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

(remember, Lauri is in CA... so she's probably not awake yet, LOL)

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

LOL...I was worried I had missed it....see already the tension, the STRESS! LOL I have a Dr.'s appt. so I will check back this afternoon....let me think...if I am home by two my time it will still be BEFORE noon in CA...Have a great day everyone! Whatever time it is...hehehe
JanetS

Caistor, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

Jill Lauri has been awake since about 2:25 this morning my time...LOL I am up every morning this early...I answered the d-mail...Lets' rock and roll folks...............Lauri

(Zone 1)

Well, I think I've lost already ..... I am such a novice, I would NEVER be able to identify an AV just by the photo! LOL. I only have about a dozen AV's and none of them are tagged. I still love them, even if I don't know their names!

Lin

p.s. Good Luck Everyone!

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Here's the link to the game thread! http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/668185/#new

Lin, not to worry, I'll post the names each day also... but I thought it would be fun to post some calls initially without the name. It'll add to the suspense at the end, LOL.

(Zone 1)

Critter: Thanks! I thought maybe you would be just posting the pic's! Maybe I have a chance then, if you plan on posting the names too!
