Why is DG time an hour ahead of "real" time?

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I just noticed my DG clock is off. What happened? Are we going to have spring again??

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Maybe they are springing forward instead of falling back?

Northern California, CA(Zone 9a)

I vote for spring! I'm already over the cold weather and we haven't even hit 45º yet!

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

It's supposed to be 29° here tonight. Yuck!

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

I can't remember, does the time automatically change on DG, or do we have to re-set it? You'd think as long as I've been here, and the time has always changed twice a year, I could remember.

Looks like Dave's time is right,now...my computer's clock jumps around on its own... I got home from the Flyer's game and Dave's was ahead and my computer was behind an hour? Can't wait to see what happens at two LOL

edit: well, the post comes out an hour ahead? I dunno

Doing a time check. And I think Daves will go automatically as will your computer if all your preferences are set up accordingly.

Molly

Editing to say the DG clock is still set at 7:45 and the real time now is 6:45.

My computer does adjust itself for daylight savings. My computer says it's 8:31. Every other clock in the house says 9:31 and so does DG. LOL Our cable box does also reset itself and its 8:31 on there too.

Alexandria, IN(Zone 6a)

I got a message that said Windows had reset my clock and a box to comfirm it. Dave will have to reset DG's clock I guess.

I still think we should skip winter and go straight to spring. :) I'm afraid we might have a rough winter this year.

I think Dave's is always ahead of it's time!!

I second the "Jump into Spring"
But then again... I just moved everything in for the winter!!
I need time to hibernate
LOL

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Hibernate next year Kin!! If we replant it all right now before it goes dormant, just think how big everything will get!! LOL

Katy, TX(Zone 8b)

Oh, Garden G. You hit the nail on the head w/that one!

Ann

If I ignore DST will that make it go away? :)

I have to run the script manually each 6 months to change DG over and it's now finished. The clock should read correctly for everyone, but if not, go to "My Info" and then your preferences to set it.

I don't really think we meant to nag Dave, we're just having fun here.

Thanks for the action. I know, it's Sunday and you have every right to sleep late and not come in here to face these petty problems.

We love ya!!!!!

LOL Dave! You think it might just go away? :) I hear they are talking about doing away with it. It's sort of a royal pain when you live it too! It's nice to get that extra hour of daylight, but when you lose an hour, it feels like a day!

I'm sure you are surprised that I would give you a hard time... :) You don't give us many opportunities to pick on you. LOL

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Well, I sure missed my hour alone this morning. My kids' sleep patterns don't know we changed the clocks!

LOL Mendy!

I see that rascal (ras·cal (rskl) n.1. One that is playfully mischievous.), Dave is on top of things and has already fixed our clock. :)

Checking my clock! Jo

Crossville, TN

OK...It is right on the button...was checking to see if mine stayed the same, since we do not change time...yep...the times listed that I possted is my correct time. Jo

I've just spent some time messing around with my time zone in preferences because the time of my morning posts was not showing correctly. It was set to Eastern Daylight Time and I've now set it to Eastern Standard Timie which works fine, but it seems that I have to go and re-set it each time there is a change. Occurred to me that I might be able to use + or - of GMT. However, DAVE, I think you may have an error in the GMT times. Whether I selected GTM +5 or GMT -5, when I refreshed my screen it showed my message at having been sent at the SAME time instead of 10 hours difference between the two. I think it is the GMT -5 that is not working correctly.

Well, an hour either way is not going to make a difference for me.
