I could find out the answers to these questions if I sign out and try it. Since I never sign out, when I do, I always have to request my password to get back in.
That being said........
I want to share my pictures in my diaries and journals with friends and family and many of them have dial up so can't handle a lot of photo downloading.
Can I invite them to Dave's to look at the diaries without them becoming members?
Don't get me wrong, I invite people to join Dave's adnauseum, but I don't want to push anyone just to see ME.

I have ??? and afraid to sign out, can't remember password
Molly, I just logged out and went to your journal and your diary and was able to see them both without a problem. :o)
MGH,
You can remember your password, can't you? :^)))))
Thanks for taking the time for me.

LOL, Molly. Actually, I have it written down, but also have it remembered in my PC. I have too many other things to remember and I usually never log out of DG. LOL
As long as the email address in your profile is one you can access and retrieve new messages from, you can always ask the system to send you your password. (You'll see the ability to do that when your login fails due to the wrong password.
To get to your password and your email address while you're logged in, click on "My Info". Then click on "Manage your preferences". You'll be able to change your password and/or email address (or just confirm either or both ;o)
Thanks Terry and ya know, I have logged off and forgot my password. I just hate to trouble any one for my simplemindedness.
You're the best.

Molly I never log out - just turn my computer off....
I think when you request your password, that is automated?? Surely one of the admins doesn't have to scroll through a notebook and find them. LOL I remember I forgot mine several years ago and got a note from Terry, laughing at my choice in passwords. Back then, someone must have had to send the password or at least got notified when you were looking for it. LOL
As long as your email addy is up to date, the system can send it to you - no human intervention required. I have NO idea how many of those go out a day, but I'm sure it's quite a few.
We get a lot of password requests at the helpdesk, from folks who click on the wrong link when they get stuck, or their email addy is outdated. (That's when we have to go through the list and find them, and encourage them to update that address once they login ;o)
We only tease the folks we know (and love!) about their password choice (if their password is tease-worthy) Everybody else, we send it to them without any editorializing or loud snickering.

Well thank you Chele and Terry, dincha ever be afraid of closing that door and having it lock on you and not being able to get back in?
I had a fear this morning of climbing on the roof to fix the tarp and having the ladder blow off the edge. No one here to help and neighbors are a long ways away. (I did have that happen in Ft Lauderdale, cell phone was in the van, lady in the house couldn't hear me yelling and the ladder had fallen.) Duh me!!!!
Luckily in this case, MGH took the risk of signing off and checking accessabilities issues.

Well, I'm afraid I'd never jump off a roof, but I know it's ok to log out of DG cuz I have "the key" written down. LOL The only way I'd never be able to get back on is if someone changed the lock on me while I was gone. Hmmmm.....maybe I should be more afraid to log out?? LOL
