Well, they caught my eye. :-))))

Just had to pull off the side of the road and take that picture through the car window. They were about 150' from the golfers.

I'd hate to be the one assigned to fetching golf balls out of that pond.

Wanna bet they leave them there or get the guy a little metal cage like the ones they use for taking pictures of sharks?? LOL

Down here in So. Fl. they are all over the place. Wherever there is fresh water there are gators, however, they are captured if they are too close to civilization. During their mating season January thru March they will wander a long distance from their pond to another pond, canal or lake. They have been known to stop traffic on busy thorofares. At this time of year they can be dangerous if you get to close to them. They have only one thing on their mind and that is to find a mate.

When I saw that pic I knew it had to be from SC!! I was right!

We took a trip there a few years ago and were amazed how folks golfed right passed all the 'gators as though they were bunny rabbits. Crazy, crazy, crazy! Those 'gators were everywhere you looked, just laying there sunning themselves. They'd have to pay me to play that course.

I would think that at ANY time of the year they'd be dangerous if you got close to them!

My thought exactly, White_Hydrangea!!

Actually our security guys approach all the gators and if they don't back away from humans DNR is called in to trap and remove them. We rarely have that happen. The key word is humans however, you sure don't want to let your dogs run free around here.

Fortunately I don't live near any of the freshwater ponds and the gators only come over to the salt marsh during extreme droughts and only for brief periods then.
