The Road Sweeper

Mysore, India(Zone 10a)

She's an employee at the Municipality and this old lady comes there each morning to do her job. I guess she's close to her retirement age (60). She's is naturally slow. Does a reasonable job to keep the area a bit tidy. Not much dirt today for her to collect.

I love looking at the backgrounds of these different places just to see how others live and how if differs from me.

Dinu, I always check out your posts because they are always of interest. Please elaborate on that small vehicle in the background with the yellow top. For some reason I'm facinated. In the USA we don't have many small economical choices such as found in other countries.

The one with the yellow top is called "autorickshaw". It carries 2-3 persons for a charge as per meter. There are thousands plying in the city and also adding to the pollution. Since it is early morning, we don't see many. Obviously, the driver of that 'auto' has gone for a cup of tea! I too look at backgrounds of the pictures as there is always something to note. I do that esp. while watching the TV. Space on the road is at a premium of late and so the smaller vehicles are very popular. So you can imagine how crowded the roads are.
