I am looking for a birthmother maiden name Anderson. First name maybe Betty.
Female born 4-16-69 in Chicago, IL ( Cook Co)
I also have a sister that I found born by the same mother ( Kane Co) 9-7-70
Anderson was said to be the oldest of 4 children the other were boys.
If anyone has an information, it would be great!
Been searching many many years and will not stop!
THANKS!
Looking for birth mother 1969 IL
Sorry, no info, hope you have success.
Anderson was born in or about 1949...
If anyone knows of anything, it just might help.
I don't have any info, just wishing you the best of luck!
Thank you!!!!!!
Hi - I don't have any information for you to help you.
Just ran across this thread by accident.
There is one thing though that I do remember:
Betty Anderson was the name of a character on a TV show.
I think it was on Father Knows Best.
Are you sure that Betty Anderson is the real name?
I wish you all the luck in the world, but are you sure this
person wants to be found?
Anderson is for sure, it was in the non id information.
I never met my mother, so I don't know if she wants to be found.
But if I don't look I will have this hole of emptiness forever.
The state matched me and my sister up.
But with women getting married it is hard to find them.
I am sure her name is no longer Anderson
But maybe someone from Kane or Cook Co, IL
May remember a Anderson they went to school with.
She would have graduated HS in or around 1964-1966
Hey, you've probably already done this then, but have you tried libraries for old yearbooks, contacting all the high schools (I realize that would prob take a lot of time) systematically for possible alumni? Plus, how about those local ads that say "Looking for birth mother?" Or maybe try this "Class of '64, trying to find Betty Anderson"? I think I may have already seen an ad like this in the Chicago Reader, was that yours?
You might also check classmates.com As people get older, they often go back and rekindle relationships from the past. High School reunions are a great way to reconnect with our youth. People do post for reunions on classmates.com and there are conversation sections where you can post a "Do you remember..." or "Did you know..." or "Trying to locate....". Maybe she will find you.
I wish you the best of luck. I know that you need to fill in some blanks. I am very happy you located your sister.
Yes, that is amazing! You have d-mail.
I have tried almost everything. Just this past week I have been locating all HS in Kane Co open the year of 1964. Now that I have the list I am going to get all the yearbooks sent to my library.
She did have 3 younger brothers, but no luck finding them...Anderson is just to common of a name.
No name was giving for the birth father, only stated he was 21 at the time of birth ( 4-16-69 )
and that he was a senior in college working towards becoming a vet.
You may have seen an ad, the other sister may have placed one.
Thanks to all your interest, search angels are always welcome.
My half sister searched for 40+ years before finding her father. Don't give up!
Thank you!!! I won't
Positive thoughts and prayers being sent to you that you find your mother.
Judy
You might get lucky if you post your request on one of the regional forums like the one for the upper midwest...
http://davesgarden.com/forums/f/region_umw/all/
Good luck.
Thank you, I can try there.
Another possibility is the more popular geneology sites. I've heard of people searching for lost relatives on them...I located a cousin that way once. Older people often have an interest in their family tree. If not her, then a relative of hers might see it. And people on genealogy sites usually know all their relatives' maiden names. Worth a try. Some of the forums are regional and some go by surname. Good luck!
probably a silly question....but have you signed up with ALMA. Certainly it would be the place your birth mother would registar if she was looking as well.
I have tried Alma, and root web. I have post all over the web. Now I need her to get on and find me!
If it wasnt for the birth sister found 2 years ago I wouldnt think the Anderson was the right name. But I know it is for sure.
Have you tried search angels? I found my birthmother with help from a volunteer at age 44. It took a lot of internet searching, and some false leads, but we did it!
I did just get a few search angels. Please pray we can do it too!!!
Wishing you luck, and wishing I had a lead for you!
I read all of the above and after years of trying to find by birth father thought well I'll try Search Angels..nothing to loose...After only 4 hours i got an e-mail and all the info I needed for contact.....Good Luck on your search and thanks for letting me know about Search Angels.............Lauri
Search Angel havent turned up nothing for me yet. Maybe because it is 37 years old and a common last name.
Lauri,
I am so happy you found your information about your birthfather!!!!
I pray you have a wonderful reunion, please keep us posted!
Look under alternate spellings as well, you never know if a mistake was made recording a "common" last name.
Have you tried the Latter Day Saints Church...Morman?....they have the best and most thoroug records....Jo
I don't have any info on the names you are looking for, but some good ideas of places you could begin searching are at the county courthouses where you mentioned...Cook and Kane. Searching is free in most courthouses, the only thing you have to pay for is copying any info you find. Sometimes you can find a lot of great info, but sometimes it takes a while...but if you have the time. Sometimes the folks that work there will search for you or at least help you, especially if you tell them why you are searching. Make these people your friends.
I've done a lot of searching at my local courthouse, for different reasons. It's amazing the info I've come up with. Everything is recorded somewhere. If you don't know what office to go to just call the main courthouse line and they'll tell you, or go into any office and ask and they'll direct you. I had to do that, and no one looked at me like I was stupid.
Start with what you have...the last name and the date. You can figure out a lot from that. You can figure out at about what age she would have owned property, married, etc. There are property deed books, will books, marriage licenses, divorces decrees, every arrest, court and custody record at the courthouse, and they are ALL public record. Surely your Mother fits in there somewhere, she is recorded, we all are. A lot of these records have been put on to computer and are now accessible through the internet, so check that first, you may be able to do all of this without leaving home and absolutely free! My county isn't that up to date, but I bet in the Chicago area it is. Just do a search for Cook County Courthouse and see what you find.
Then, cross-reference whatever you may find with other info from what the other DGers are saying here and you may just find yourself on a good path to finding your Mom. If nothing else you may find an Uncle or a Grandparent, or an address that you can follow that will lead you to more info. If you find an addy where she grew up you can find what school she attended. If you find the school you may be able to contact the person in charge of reunions for her graduating class, that person may have her current name and address.
Don't give up, the info is out there. I'll be praying for you. I know how hard it can be when you feel like you're starting from scratch.
Heather
Thanks for all the great ideas everyone!!!!!
I didnt know the county released all that information.
I do know she did get married and divorced, but without a year , where do you start?
I will have to give this a try and see where it takes me.
I have contacted every high school in those county the year she graduated that had a reunion contact, so far no luck!
I will keep you all posted.
Thanks again!!!!!!!
My courthouse searches a decade at a time, so whenever I'm searching I ask them to search the 1960's, etc. If I know an exact year I give it to them, but most times I don't know the exact year, just the decade.
I'm really hoping this link works. I just searched this on Google and things work differently in IL. Here's a link to the clerk of the court for getting a copy of marriage licenses in Cook County... http://www.cookctyclerk.com/sub/genealogy_requests.asp?VR=2
Kane County isn't as clear, but here is their clerk's website http://www.co.kane.il.us/COC/index.htm and there is at least a phone number listed there so you can contact them to find out what you would need to do. Most likely it would be something similar to what is done in Cook County.
If you explain your situation to them I'm sure that they will help you in any way that they can. If they aren't helpful then call back until someone else answers and don't explain your situation, lol!
Thanks a million I will let you know how it turns out!
