Weird, when I looked at this post earlier I only saw a post from Mitch and Melanie after mine with the pic. I didn't see the 2 from renatelynne or Frostweed! ?? Anyways...I don't think that the mistflower requires more water than any of my other stuff, but my stuff does require more water than Josephine's.
My patch of the mistflower is a circle about 3 feet around. It sprawled out but kept blooming and I didn't want to cut it back because everything loves it. It started sending shoots up straight so now it's full again and just in time for the Monarch crowd!
Renatelynne, I'd be happy to send you some too. I don't root this, I just pull up shoots and it comes up with roots. I'm glad it spreads like that tho because I know it will keep coming back. :)
Dallas Plant Swap ( The People )
yea.. it seemed to spread last year... just not much came up this year... weird... I will wait and see what happens come spring before I start worrying.
Hey Guys I havent planted a thing yet thank God its been raining... Paige all this hoopla about the mist flower makes me want a bigger piece ... it is a pretty thing... maybe I better get it in a pot ... in a hurry!
Yeah Mitch ... you ... Sheila and Deb made out like a bandit! You got big stuff!! :)

I am going to look at a house this weekend. If I like it I am going to have a Potting Party! I am going to invite everyone of you to help me dig up stuff and move it to the new place. Now wont that be fun! LOL ... I just happen to think of that ... sitting here wondering what will do with my plants! LOL
I just dropped by to see what kind of time ya'll had....I see a lot of people that I met at the CS RU in the spring.....and I see a lot of you that I hope to meet in the future!!
I love it when I see folks having a great time. Jo
... and that we had Jo! I cant wait for College Station.
HI Jo, we did have a great time.
Sylvia......I will be there for you whenever you start to take your plantings out. Don't forget those early Spring flowers that pop up.
Sheila
Sylvia - Same here - just give the word...
all that room who knows what you will grow.
Sylvia - count me in! And I have lots of empty pots I can donate if you need.
Same here - loads of the plastic ones... I am sure you have most of your plants in pots already right? I am trying to think but I thought that the hostas are all in pots already.
Moving party? Let me know. We have a 16' stock trailer with covered top and sides which would protect larger plants from wind damage in transit. I have lots of 1 gallon and larger nursery pots too.
Looks like you don't need to worry over moving your plants! LOL!
Oh you guys are so wonderful! I looked at this place and come to find out its a Duplex my landlord owns it and want me to have it .. I guess because I dont have kids. Its not as big as my place I presently live in but it could be cute ... one I am in there and start renovating without asking. LOL There is a back yard with trees and I am quite sure I could get most of my Hostas in the ground there. The front yard is big ... I could spread My texas natives all across the front ... and plant most all my trees ... Mitch you might have to take the Peach trees ;) My big problem is all my vines I just planted six recently... and I got more Clematis in the ground too. Mitch I will have to dig up all my daylillies that havent bloomed yet...:( Oh well I havent got the place yet, I should have taken a serious interest when she first told me about it. :( will keep you guys posted.
Pat I could see you driving up here in that Stock trailer! I love it! LOL
Keep us posted...
I am sure some of us might have a few of the plants you lost... and most vines will move ok.
I will ...but you guys dont know what you are in for. lol
I am thinking about all the labeling and replanting more than the digging! LOL!! Sylvia, I have seen pictures, and you have a lot in that little yard!
When will you have to move? Do you have a separate backyard from the person on the other side?
I don't have any spare pots to offer, but I can haul quite a bit in my SUV as you know.
replanting... that will be the biggest issue - to keep the names with everything.
Same here - how quick will you be moving?
AW!! Mitch,
So nice of you to want to rememberer who gave ya what. I'm kinda in that mode too. I found a cheap way to keep track of who gave ya what. I went to Biglots anf got a $1 pack of green bamboo sticks, and a 74ct roll of duct tape..and write on them with a Sharpie. (in calligraphy).. Very fancy~ Ya need a tag, especially if your planting seeds, or as a makeshift nameplate too until the plants are established and you can buy the Gold plated ones, lololol..
;oD
I just keep it in a chart after I get them planted... or better said I try.
Hey guys I just want to get the plants over there in pots. The Fig, Orleander and my Vitex are the only ones I think will need to get in the ground asap
I got my Rose of Sharon too
All my Hostas are in pots.
I got a Poplar tree growing in a pot with a Clemitis hugging it. I sure hate to lose that!
I got two huge drums with my peach tress an herbs in it I wont be able to use the peach trees.
Everything else is in the ground Daylillies about eight important vine, all my Natives, two peonie, and Rusilla planted out front, perenials
SHEILA you bought up a good point! ...that woman on the other side. She is supposed to be into plants, but I dont see anything out front ... its just as bare out there. She has some kind of vine running through her screened window ... I dont know whats thats all about. loo I was thinking about asking her if I could plant my Natives all the way across her side too ... just to show some coheisiveness(sp?. Its will look really strange if she has nothing on her side.LOL
... this is great ... you guys are helping me think thing through.! Keep the questions coming! and the ideas!
I am sure your peach trees will find a good home here.
maybe that popular too....
Sylvia, I haven't said anything about helping because I don't know if I will be available that day, but if I am, you can count on me too.
Josephine.
I had almost 5" of rain at my house in Rowlett yesterday + this morning and every single thing from the Arlington RU just perked right up. Wow, there is nothing like rain to make the plants smile and decide they want to live.
Sylvia, if I'm free the day you move, you can count on me. I'm good for lifting and hauling stuff.
Carla
I got two poplars ... one is 8ft... I tried moving it into the soil ... put nitro down there ... dumb thing to do .... but I feed it root stimulator ... it went into shock wont know until spring... they are yours too.

I started a new thread on moving party.
