New Dmail notification on home page...

I wonder if the notification line on the home page that tells us we have a new or updated email could include the number of replies also? Sometimes I mark a dmail as unread if I'm working out a trade with someone, but am waiting on seeds to ripen, or to make a list of what I've got to offer, or for whatever reason. I mark it that way so I don't forget about it. I'm flighty that way. ;o) Anyway, I always wonder if the other person has replied to tell me something new, but I have to go check the dmail and then mark it unread again. If it had the number of replies, I'd have a better idea if they had replied to me or not. It's not a big deal if this is not a good idea, just something I thought might make it a bit easier to know if there's really a new reply or not.
Thanks for your consideration on the matter! :o)

Sounds like a good idea to me too. I've often read a dmail, but not had time to reply right then, so I mark it unread. When I go back to reply I find that they have posted on the dmail again.

Me too, and how many times did you find someone had replied and you missed it for a while?

I'd vote for this as well - either include the number of replies, or the date of the last reply. Either would be a sufficient trigger to let me know something has changed within a message I'm keeping on my "tickler"

I agree! The number of replies or last date of reply would be great!

I added this last night but forgot to post here. :)

Chuckle. That'll teach me to look before I speak. (Well, it *should* teach me..but given how long I've had that bad habit, it'll take more than that to break me of it ;o)

:)

Thank you so much, Dave! That's simply superb!!
And I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who has to have the dmail scream at me so I can remember! LOL

why am I not being notified when I have D-email ?

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

I just checked your profile - it looks like you have your "Home" page set to show new dmail alerts just beneath your new thread watcher. If you don't see any alerts there, then you don't have any new messages waiting.

And you can always use the "Mail" link in the menu above to view all your dmail (and the newest are at the top)

Right Terry . but I had new d-mail but was not notified, this was the second time. Even had personal email from Dave to tell me I had d-mail, lol
Also, though I watch this thread , I have not been told an answer was given to my question

But isn't that dmail notification set up to send out if you don't pick it up in 2 days or something?

If you are checking it daily, then notify doesn't apply. Am I interpreting this correctly?

Maria,

The page where those notifications happen is the homepage - you can get there by clicking on the "Dave's Garden" logo up at the top of the site.
