I'm setup for 1024×768 viewing, but this -- http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/654795/ -- forum topic displays much larger for me and requires horizontal scrolling. Does anyone else have the same problem?
Weird pixel width
It does that for me too, I've seen this happen a few times before on some other threads too, seems to be just an occasional random bug that happens to some threads.
It happens whenever someone strings together too many characters without a space - sometimes someone puts a line of underscores ("________") or they get really excited with too many exclamation points. In this case it was a very long string of "...............".
I Cut it down and the thread is fine again.

Could the posting process include a screener for uninterrupted character strings so they'd automatically be truncated or the poster could be asked to delete some of them?
I could be wrong, but I think Dave's tried to fine-tune this for a long time and the problem is the big URLs that get truncated whenever the string length is reduced....
If it screened only for istrings of dentical characters, such as the commonly used !!!'s and ...'s, that would cut down on some of them.
Agreed....but that's easy for me to say, since I don't deal with the programming code here ;o)
