Oh, Cori is quite the um, trip. :) LOL!! She painted and decorated her own Halloween costume this year....
Fluffles!!!
Well thank you. Cori! You are a doll! I see you are so artistic too. Great costume! Hope you have a great Halloween and score big time.
Kell,
Thanks! I can't wait to go trick or treating and collect more candy!
Wow!!! I have to try pollinating!!! Very interesting!!!Congratulations!!! Bellie
That bloom is so cool. I hope it stays that way
I can not get over how pretty they are, went to ebay and try to buy one but no luck. How can I get one?? I am desperate!!!! Bellie
Bellie, people have been posting available cuttings right on this forum lately. Check in every day and see if you can get in line for some of them when someone posts extras. Also Ebay does have tons and many are not very expensive. Be careful though, they are addictive. LOL
Kell,
I already have at least 8-10 varieties but does not have your rare variety. I checked ebay and did not see those kinds either. I might wait to pollinate myself.Do ypu ever trade any of your cuttings?? LOL!!!! Bellie
To be honest, I suck at trading as I am a procrastinator so I really don't trade, bellieg. Everyone would be mad at me. I do send out various cuttings but just do not have time for more than about 20 boxes a year. This particular brug won't be going out if ever, for at least a year. It bloomed late and I only saw 3 blooms. So I need to see it go much longer and see if it stays true. Though I do think it is so cool too, actually I find it to be so much fun! If it turns out to be a keeper it will be awhile before it gets out and around. Thank you for the complement!
Kell,
Love your Fluffles. Yep, I think it is your mom sending you a message to turn that frown around and enjoy the beauty around you. My sis had an orchid pop up in her garden right after my grandmother passed away (my grandmother grew orchids in a greenhouse till she got Alzheimer's).
My brug finally started blooming late this summer. It has been really odd. 1/3 of the blooms are a single shredded. 1/3 of the blooms are semi-shredded. and 1/3 of the blooms are almost normal. I've got another flush of buds on it that I am hoping will bust out before it gets cold here. It got a bit nippy last night, but so far no frost, so I'm, hoping that I'll get at least one more flush of blooms this year.
My other brug never did a thing...but I spent the whole summer fighting mites on it, so that might be the reason.
Thank you, Marcie!
That is so amazing that an orchid would pop up. What are the chances of that happening on its own? I do not think I have ever heard of an orchids being a volunteer. I really do think there is something to that. Maybe they can see when their people are in such pain and reach out to help ease it.
I am getting to the point if a brug has mites too much, out it goes. We too are having a great November so far. We had our first rain in over 6 months and it was fantastic. Cleaned everything off. All my plants perked up. I have flowers all over.
I hope you get your new flush. It woud be a great way to start your winter!
and speaking of new flush, Kell, is your amazing Fluffles budded up again? Do you think you'll get one more flush before ol' man winter sets in?
Your hybrids are so amazing! I keep hoping that this one stays true to it's mutation! It so cool!
And what an asset you are to this forum (and all of Dave’s for that matter!!!) with all your beauties!! Thanks for sharing them. Both the photos and the cuttings!!
Cant wait to see what your Ruthie crosses bring me!! the seeds are about 4" tall now!! and I'll try and post my super double triple back flip (for lack of a better name for her!) seedling now that it's happy (fertilizer really helps! duh!) (it's a double apricot right?)
Thanks for sharing all the fantastic brug growing advise with me. My Butterfly is loaded with buds, despite being moved into the garage! Thanks for all your generosity!
Kell
this is awesome ! remember me if you have seeds.
elva
Thanks Elva and Lali. You guys are so nice. I have had 2 more blooms and have some small buds. But the weather has changed dramatically and winter is here. Brrrrrrrrrrrr. So we shall see.
I didn't get a pod, Elva on this one. I am just hoping it holds next year but I am not holding my breath. LOL
Kell it is great to see your most unusual brug blooms. Hope you get some viable seed from your crosses. I still have a few brugs. Smells wonderful in my bonsai storage room where 4 are stored and still blooming. Have 3 in the gh , Snowbank is blooming and a light pink one.
