I need a name!

Brigham City, UT(Zone 5b)

Kell,

Did I hear (read) "tons of seeds"? Think my way, K?
There are so many good names there, I wouldn't know what to add.
You do have a burst of color. I love it. How big is your yard anyway?

Marie

Waco, TX(Zone 8b)

Very pretty Kell, how about Pumkin Spice or Peach Chiffon.

Clayton

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

Kell? I'm confused...Tacoma as in Tacoma Stans? Or something different? It's a beauty and I do love it. Tell me more.

Premont, TX(Zone 9b)

Yes Orange bells instead of yellow bells. the orange is so much prettier I have several bushes of this and only 3 of the yellow......I love it.....

Elva

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I like your names Clayton. Thanks.

The pods have a long way to go Marie, but lets hope they make it over winter. I just love the shape of this one too, it has full and fluffy skirts!

Hey Brin, I am always confused. LOL Welcome to my world.

I see there are a few cultivars of different orange ones. But mine is Tecoma X smithii
http://www.floridata.com/ref/T/teco_sta.cfm
'Orange Bells' (Tecoma x smithii) is a cross of T. arequipensis and T. stans. T. chrysantha has larger flower clusters and more dramatically serrated leaf margins.

San Marcos needs a better picture, it is orange but has lots of yellow in it. Or maybe different blooms age and get more yellow in the cluster. I fell for it on one look, it is so bright and cheerful.

Elva, do your orange stems hang all over? I wish they had a bit more of an upright growth habit.

Ah shucks Kell!!! LOL!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

You are so naughty, Gary. I bet you didn't know I was a nurse. LOL

(Mary) Poway, CA(Zone 10a)

Oh Gary, you are bad! LOL In my much younger days when I was in school we used to have the hospital operator page Sue Damonas to report to the Respiratory Department. (pseudomonas - a nasty gram negative bacteria. Chronic lung patients sometimes got infected with it and had a heck of a time) Sick hospital humor.

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Kell,
Californy Dreaming was a Mamas and Papas hit,1965!
Apricot flushes!!! My pick for a name!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Yes it was Don, I can hear them singing it. LOL. But didn't the Beach Boys write it? Apricot Flushes. Great name. LOL

Oh Mary, one mention of pseudomonas and I can smell it. Ick!

Edited to say OK I asked my rock and roll husband and he says no way the Beach Boys wrote it but they did sing it at one time.

Uh, "California Dreaming" was done by "The Mama and the Papas."

Edited to say "oops, Tropicman already stated who did 'California Dreamin.'"

Californy Apricot swirly !!!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Sue. You are!!! It is a heavy bloomer too.

OK, I started the day dreaming of a rare Tibouchina
http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/656154/
I was combing the internet with such lust in my heart.

Frustrated in that endeavor, I craved bamboo in a big way and had thoughts of it all over my yard. Such a great need. I was emailing with a bamboo nursery too all day. I ended needing more kinds than I started with. Not good.
http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/656315/

And I had a short foray into flowering trees which included this one
http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/70092/ but wrong zone and then with some email accomplices showing me where to order this one.... http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/38522/ .......so I did. Hey it is so PINK!!

Oh I forgot, midday I was so hot for huge EEs and then a great friend took pity on me and said she would send me 3 kinds of those, the biggest of the big. LOL

And I am ending it by getting some weird and fun Amorphophallus bulbs, a relatively new peripheral flirtation I have been having for about 5 months since a friend sent me a huge one. LOL.

It is so hard to me. So is there such a thing as Plant ADD? I have it and I need hospitalization ASAP.

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

My you have been one busy lady today!!

LOL Mary!!! That is just the story I needed....
As you well know I deal with pseudomonas with the clients I work with. I will share that story at work.

Gosh you have been busy Kell.... I'm trying to keep busy also but not with fun things. I'm Painting indoors while I can still keep the windows open.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

And it is time for bed Kin. I am exhausted. LOL

Good Night!

Premont, TX(Zone 9b)

Kell I have the one you have plus one called orange jubille ( misspedded) but something like that

Hagerstown, MD(Zone 6b)

I have tried to make a standard from my Tecoma "Orange Jubilee" but it is impossible. The plant just flops all over the place. I thought it was just the main plant I have so I rooted a cutting a couple of yrs ago and started it as a standard and it never worked either. I will just have to take it as is. The hummers go nuts over it.

Nashville, TN(Zone 6b)

Kell...I am late getting in here. Another beauty for you, and another beautiful photo. I love the name Tangerine Curls.

Betty

Nowra, NSW,, Australia(Zone 9b)

You have faaabulous taste Kell!! Love all that color!! and Tangerine Twist or whatever it ends up being named is gorgeous!

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Amazing flower, Kell. You did good, girlfriend!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Elva do you have a pic of your Orange Jubilee? Is it as floppy? I do not have a lot of room for a wide floppy plant so I probably will only keep mine a few years. So sad. Oh, so it is as floppy. Oh Dott, too bad. I suspected mine would be too floppy too for a standard. I guess we need a grafted one. Shucks.

Betty, Tangerine Curls and Tangerine Twist are just great. My only problem is this is the darkest this one has been. Usually it is a softer color when it is warmer. The skirts are so fluffy!

Hi Alistair, great seeing you over here on Dave's. We sure could use your Australian brug expertise and perspective around here!

Oh Clare, you are such a nice friend you would like anything I do. LOL.

Too be honest, it is luck. Grow enough and you get a few winners. Grow tons, and you get even more winners.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Yeah, that's true, but I really, really love the color of this flower! And you always know what colors to put in the picture. Has this picture been Picture of the Day yet? It's stunning with the purple and pink in the background.

Petersburg, VA(Zone 7a)

I followed the above links..from the red to the pink...to something else
and spent (edited for my safety) bucks.Thank a lot.....

Help me someone, stop me....

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Dedda, oh Natural Selections Exotic is a website that can do lots of damage to my purse too. I love their stuff. Oh to live there though the humidity would flatten me.

Thanks Clare!!
