I'm having trouble getting pages to load--once I get into a thread I can post responses just fine, but it's taking forever for pages to load. Anyone else having issues? I've tried a bunch of other websites and they're fine, so it's not my computer or connection.

A couple hours ago we had a slight dip in the traffic output of one of our servers. It's been fine since, though. If you are still having trouble, please let me know.

Thanks! Seems OK now at least from my network connection at the office, I'll try again tonight from my dialup at home and see if I'm still having problems

It turns out the data center was having problems yesterday. I got this email:

Quoting:
Subject: [EVENT NOTIFICATION] Denial of Service attack

Dear Colo4Dallas Customer,

At approximate 9:04AM CDT on September 15, 2006, we noticed a significant
increase in packet utilization on the circuits to our upstream providers.

We identified the necessary IP information and provided this to our
upstream providers in effort to implement a null route. One provider was
able to implement this immediately. At approximately 9:20AM, Colo4Dallas
shut down the circuit to the other provider as null route was not yet in
place on the second provider. At this point, BGP re-converged and all
traffic was routed over one provider, mitigating the attack.

At approximately 9:45AM, we were notified that the second null route was
in place. We then turned up the second circuit, BGP converged once again
and all traffic patterns were back to normal.

Colo4Dallas is working closely with our upstream providers and are
implementing additional internal systems and equipment to prevent these
types of problems in the future. Please feel free to contact us should
you have any questions.

I'm having an awful time getting pages to load today and can't get replies to post at all. I don't have dialup but some pages are taking so long I'm getting that page can't be found page.

The home page is loading fine, everything else is slower than mud.

Edited to add, this reply posted fine. It's the only one I've been able to post.

Dave posted something yesterday about doing some server maintenance today, that's probably what's happening.

Try again. I just tried to reply to this. I waited and waited, got up, walked into the kitchen, washed dishes and came back and it was still hung up trying to post.

Anyway, was trying to say thanks for the info, Ecrane.
