Okay ... who's hoarding all the rain?

Shelton, WA(Zone 8a)

You mean parking lots were drinking that much coffee?

Kalispell, MT(Zone 4b)

You betcha the nitrogen from all of the dumped coffees fed all the blackberry bushes for years. Why do you think there are so many near the parking lots. LOL

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

Sofer - no more ACDC concerts for you. You've got too much coffee on the brain & this isn't good for your neurons at altitude. But I do like the coffee-on-every-aisle idea, except I would want mine in the form of a triple shot Americano. I could probably munch on the roasted beans, too.
It's in my blood, I can't help it. I was born caffeinated - my mom drank about 2 pots of percolated coffee a day while she was pregnant with me. I was so happy to finally get out - finally had room to run around!

Tacoma, WA(Zone 8b)

I think that some people might still have too much blood in their caffeine streams. Sad really.

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

this is a precise observation.

I feel for them. I could introduce them to my pusher....

Shelton, WA(Zone 8a)

Pixy, anyone who can't find a coffee pusher all by his / herself in the PNW has more problems than I care to list in a public forum.

Well, it's true I realize. But I live up here right by the military bases and you'd be surprised at how many folks come from other parts of the country where they just 'don't get it'. some very good friends of ours could not understand the coffee phenomenon up here, especially Starbucks, and eschewed going into Starbucks for the longest time. My DH and I just smiled knowingly. It drove them crazy. By the following year they weren't drinking any coffee but Starbucks. You see? They had yet to be introduced to the correct form of the drug. Now they live in San Antonio and, although they have Starbucks coffee bars down there, it just isn't the same because the barista's don't live here. So they don't 'get it'. And they make the drinks slowly. As though one would drink coffee in order to relax!! Can you believe that? So I never assume. For all I know people not 'in the know' have no idea what all those cutsie little houses are in every parking lot on every corner. I believe it to be my duty as a caring human being to make sure they understand that after one winter up here, they, too, will wait in the car-line and ask for a double- tall- extra- hot- vanilla- latte, no foam. And they'll know what it is they are ordering, too.
Actually, when the sun is shining, my favorite drink is the Grande-extra ice-two pump-no whip-mocha. Yum!!

Shelton, WA(Zone 8a)

Pixy, you are a true addict!

When I was a kid I simply assumed that when one grew up one would smoke and drink coffee. Happily I can say that I have travelled well into adulthood with out having ANY desire to smoke. Unfortunately, regardless of the pain in my esophagus and the mounting evidence that the damage done can lead to real problems, I seem to be an addict, too. Why do we do things that harm us?!?!?!?!

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

Pixy - you sang my song with the grande...mocha! I prefer an extra shot to ensure proper blood flow to the heart, & whip cream for my cartoon brain. Coffee is the best way for me to achieve that zen state of mind for moving plants the umpteenth time.

Mzweazelle, you remember the old saying about that river in Egypt.... and then there is the unspoken impulse control thing. Whoops! I didn't say that.

Although I must have my coffee, it has to be in the morning. Caffeeine after 3:00 is a no-no for me. But I am known to get a decaf, just to stay with the 'in' crowd.

Shelton, WA(Zone 8a)

I'm an "evening person" when it comes to beverages, but caffeine doesn't seem to give me much trouble so I pretty much drink what I want, when I want. I've often wished that I got the "pick-me-up" from coffee that a lot of people talk about -- alas, it's not to be.

I'm not in denial. I know that I shouldn't drink it, and I know that I drink too much! No denial there. :-)

Tacoma, WA(Zone 8a)

I am totally addicted, if I dont have my fix , I have a caffine headache in the afternoon,,, I love the smell, the taste, and effect!!!!! I'm hoplessly hooked!!!

You know, as vices go, caffeine is not such a bad choice! LOL

Shelton, WA(Zone 8a)

Every time I go for an interview I get asked if I have any problem with submitting to a drug test if I'm hired. My answer has become "As long as caffeine hasn't been declared illegal, I'm fine with it." lol

It may be dangerous, but at least it's legal!

So far, so good! If caffeine or sugar is ever delcared illegal, I'll just hope that by time I am retired!

Tacoma, WA(Zone 8a)

Ya never know with the food police.

Shelton, WA(Zone 8a)

Hey, if they outlawed everything that wasn't good for us we'd all have to stop eating, drinking and breathing. That would decimate the tax base, and you KNOW politicians aren't going to go for that. :-)

Don't you know it! If real estate 'values' continue to climb at the current rate, I won't be able to afford my house!

Tacoma, WA(Zone 8a)

Dont ever let the tax man inside... LOL atleast not until your ready to sell.

O.T. does anyone have Ornamental oregano they are willing to trade?

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

I heard the real estate market is starting to slump.

Tacoma, WA(Zone 8a)

market yes.. but values no

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Yes, I did say market.

Shelton, WA(Zone 8a)

Seattle area property still seems to be hot, even though a lot of other areas are slipping. We hear about it all the time on the news.

Yeah, I wish that when the market slumped, the taxes would slump with it!
I have ornamental oregano, Viv. The charteuse colored kind. I can give you a big clump of it. The color is great.

Tacoma, WA(Zone 8a)

Oh cool Pixy, we'll set it up.

Dmail me and I'll get some to you.
