Okay ... who's hoarding all the rain?

Kalispell, MT(Zone 4b)

You guys are funny.

Oh viv! Good one! I don't know about how 'virtually virgina' my sacrifices were, but the rain held today! No rain for the plant sale, and no rain for all the garden digging I've been doing this afternoon. A little sprinkle after the sun went down. So that's fine with me. It will keep all the plants I've dug from drying out!

Sumner, WA(Zone 8a)

Woo-hoo ...it's raining!!

We got about 2 inches last night, but the sun is shining now. That's the kind of rain I can live with! But I'm running out of V.V.s, so watch out!

Shelton, WA(Zone 8a)

Four days with rain each day and the garden well is still almost empty! That's some very dry dirt out there. Fortunately the house well is a little deeper and we can still wash. :-)

Kalispell, MT(Zone 4b)

I brought it from Montana when I arrived here on Sunday PM. You can thank me.

Anybody who doesn't paint their house in August deserves to have it rain in September. I always paint before labor day.

A trip to europe is well worth the cost of hiring a painter. Well done!

Did you SEE the weather forecast for this week? It's supposed to go back to summer again! Today in the 70's, and all week in the mid to high 70's! Let it be true!!

Shelton, WA(Zone 8a)

Who's forecast are you watching Pixydish? Mine showed highs of 70 to 72 on Saturday and Sunday, but nothing like what you're talking about.

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Our forecast shows high 70s to low 80s. I'll believe it when I see it. ;o)

Tacoma, WA(Zone 8a)

I need at least two more weeks, of good weather to get all the plants potted and moved.... and I would rather do it out of the rain. I WANT SUNSHINE!

Kalispell, MT(Zone 4b)

I am paddling my canoe up in Alberta canada and plan on 70F and bright sunshine through the whole 10 days. Probably won't even need a sleeping bag. LOL I am hopeing fro a warm up.

my forcast is based on Yahoo weather. And I, for one, am keeping a good thought, and have begun the sacrifices again. Here's what they are saying:
Extended Forecast

High: 67° today
Low: 45° High: 74° Saturday
Low: 49° High: 81° Sunday
Low: 51° High: 77° Monday
Low: 49° High: 75° Tuesday
Low: 51°

Shelton, WA(Zone 8a)

Anything above 72 is too high for me.

Say, where do you find the little degree mark? Lots of times I'd like to have the use of that!

Wish I could enlighten you about the little degree mark. Alas, I copied and pasted that from Yahoo. Sorry about that.

Shelton, WA(Zone 8a)

Okay, so how do I copy and keep it for later? lol

Hiouchi, CA(Zone 8b)

for the degree sign
hold down the Alt key & type 0176 at the same time
and you get a °

Dick :-)

Kalispell, MT(Zone 4b)

Wow youuse fellers are pretty darn smart! I would have never found that one on google.

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

I have found though that you have to use the number key pad, not the numbers above the letters on your keyboard. Not sure if it's the same on a laptop.

Kalispell, MT(Zone 4b)

OK on the laptop. I push down ALT and hit 0176 = nothing happens. So youse guys not so smart.-+321654987 The number keys don't work either. Laptops suck.

Shelton, WA(Zone 8a)

Thanks for the info Strever. I'll have to write that down and tape it to my laptop somewhere 'cause I'll never remember it. Five keys to get one little °? How silly.

Soferdig, I wasn't able to get it to work with the number / symbol keys on my laptop, but I happen to have a widescreen model with a 10-key and it does work that way. If you've got no 10-key I think you're probably out of luck. Sorry. :-(

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

° :works for me! Yippee!

Tacoma, WA(Zone 8b)

♠1i°°°° Wow, it finally worked for me, too. I think you need at least a masters° in keyboarding to make it work right, though. Came up with the interesting things before and after this text doing the same thing.§°§°§Ÿ ₧ ¥ Ñ

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Look for a character map on your computer somewhere and it will show you how to do all kinds of different symbols. I don't know if it the same for all computers (more than likely not) but my map is located under: programs > accessories > system tools > character map.

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

herpst - I think your keyboard is on shrooms...

Shelton, WA(Zone 8a)

Katye, what makes you conclude that it's not Herpst on shrooms?

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

lllllllllllllollll............... well, they could be sharing such an experience, but, that's a real good question, Mz!
Herpst - how's your keyboard doing? °¥° °¦° °®°

Hi all, after coming down from a symbolic high, my keyboard seems to be o.k. Wow, technology.

Kalispell, MT(Zone 4b)

I'm glad I left Seattle the pressure keeps you guys in need of a lift. Here in Montana we just hike to get high. Thank you Strever I downloaded that in favorites cause I will never learn it cause the atmosphere here is hard on the brains. (lack of Oxygen at 10,000 Ft) Or was it the smoke in the room last night? I have to quit going to ACDC concerts. LOL

"But I still love technology,
Always and forever."

ROFLOL!!!

So. Puget Sound, WA(Zone 8b)

Steve, but that's why there's a coffee shop on ~every corner. Always a "lift" close by.

Kalispell, MT(Zone 4b)

I had a friend fly into Seattle and before she arrived she asked me "Is the air in seattle filled with coffee odors?". I told her she was reading too many magazines. Well when I picked her up at the airport she immediatly exclaimed that "It was true, Seattle smells like coffee!" I just pointed out what an espresso carts looks like nearby. Yes she was blonde. LOL

Shelton, WA(Zone 8a)

I'm waiting for stores to move the acid reflux medicine into the same aisle as the coffee. That way I won't have to go to two different places in the store. :-)

Kalispell, MT(Zone 4b)

I always thought that coffee should be in every aisle so what ever else you are getting you could grind up a fresh 1/4 # for the next 2 days. Or even a big wheel shaped shopping area with coffee at the axel of the spokes.

As I was sitting at a stoplight yesterday, sipping on my iced-16 oz,- two pumps- extra ice- no-whip mocha, I noticed that almost everyone in the cars around me had a coffee of some type in hand. It struck my suddenly just HOW much coffee is a part of the culture up here. And this was the middle of the day, and the sun was shining brightly!

Kalispell, MT(Zone 4b)

I remember when coffee just got started in the early 80's the studies of ground water contamination with caffiene was wide spread. Run off from parking lots into streams. They could track development into the area by this method.
