Football conspiracy

The satellite company is clearly anti Pittsburgh Steelers. *giggle* I don't have local network channels with my TV plan - they're not available because (I guess) the cable company owns the market.. Not sure really, but I have heard of it before where some can't get network channels on satellite TV.

This means, essentially, I will miss the Steelers game tonight. So all ya'll 'Burgh fans that get to watch it, holler extra loud for me.... I'll be at home pouting ... =(

Disclaimer: Devotion to the team is real. Situation with network channels is real. All other comments reflecting my mood reaction are for drama & sarcasm purposes only. I will not be pouting - I'll get phone coverage from my folks back home, probably while I'm riding my horse or feeding four-legged children-pets.

We have networks with Direct TV. If they don't offer a 'local' station, they should offer a network feed from the nearest metro area.

That's the way it is with us. Until the local channels were available, we got a generic network tier.

eidited to say...I feel your pain.

I can't even get "generic network" or feed from Houston, the largest closeby city- All I can get is CBS from about 6 cities. That doesn't do me much good. My parents in PA can get networks from closest city, I got local networks when I lived in SC. This is a disadvantage with living in a small town, and then further living out in the country-boonies from the small town.

The DISH guy did tell me that what they will do is send a waiver request to Houston networks on my behalf, explaining I can't get reception from antenna (which is probably true, I haven't tried), and the local networks aren't available. If approved, within 45 days from today, the channels should magically appear on my TV (at no charge). Cross your fingers it happens!

Nevertheless, that's 45-days!!! I can't imagine how much football I'm going to miss... *pout pout*

The squeaky wheel gets the grease...if you complain loudly and often enough, they'll comply...I've had friends who did just that.

They had the east and west coast feed networks and when it went to the 'local stations' they raised enough cain that they got changed back. They didn't give a hoot about the local stations, but wanted 'real news'. Their request was granted.

I'm in the boonies too....we don't even have DSL available where I live, and the town I live outside of has a population of 3500 if you count all the cats and dogs.

Have you checked to see if there is a webcast available of the games?

LOL...webcast... *giggle giggle snicker*... that'd further the torture! :) Dial-Up Webcast.... oh goodness!! :)

It might have webcast, but I can't imagine my frustration on a slow dialup hollering at my computer for slow coverage...
