"EXTRA EFFECTS" in DG posts and D-Mails???

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

I hope this is the appropriate Forum to ask this question. It is, kind of, "general"....

I know all that one can do on regular e-mails, like highlighting, changing the font, adding color to your text, etc.

So often, I see a Post or a D-mail and someone has italicized a word or made it 'bold". I also see where someone has enclosed part of another Post's text, and it is all blue and kind of 'framed in". .

I'd like to use these options to "emphasize" something I am saying or to copy/paste something and have it appear as a colored text to separate it from what I am typing at the moment.

Also--if I include a link to some web-page, will it, automatically appear as a "hyperlink" in the receiver's text?

Please! (see--this should be "bold") educate me!

Thanks, Gita

Gita,

Tried to break it down simply and dmail you but it won't let me....if I show you the symbols they don't print in my text to you...just change my writing. =)

This link should solve it for you though.

Thanks so much for that link. I just printed out the page and will keep it handy. Like Gita, I have wondered how to do all those things, especially how to attach pictures. And now I know!

Just as an experiment....

underline
bold

If this works, first word should be underlined, and the second should be in bold.

Hey!

This thread has been dormant for a long time! I think I tried to use these things, but ended up with the whole paragraph getting bold after the words I wantred to be bold.

So, here is MY experiment:

Thank you. Gita

Yeah! It worked!!!! BUT! See how all the rest of it is also bold? AND Italicized! I did not put the <> in front of this! This is the same thing that happened to me in several D-mails I was trying to use it in. WHY?????

Hmmmm..

What is NOT showing is that I added some comments at the bottom, and just as I said, everything I wrote after my name was italicized AND bold!

I did "preview" it and it was there, but now it is not! So I am writing this to let you know.
Any ideras?

Please ignore the last Post! It is now redundant!
