My TV has gone nuts and making me nuts along with it.

Anyone know what this big black rectangle is that has shown up today and won't leave? Better yet, how to get rid of it It starts black and then gets a repeated message going down it.

I think it may have something to do with this message that comes up as soon as I turn my TV on, Text CH1.

It looks like it has something to do with your TV programming. Do you have the manual? LOL

Our cable company recently did some updates and now the schedule only takes up 2/3 of the screen and rips us out of 1/3 of the scheduling. It bites!

Do you believe I googled support Toshiba TV and got a phone number for live help? I got right in with a live person after only having to push a limited button menu. Someone that spoke English answered immediately and he figured it all out in a second!!! It was a painfree call. I am in shock. My B/P didn't go up once. Just amazing.

My batteries were weakening so the TV didn't read it when I was clicking on the closed caption button from my chair. So I got real close and clicked it twice and it was GONE!!! If only that worked for lots of things in life. LOL

Yeah Kell! You fixed it! LOL But I'm most amazed at the fact that you got right in to Toshiba! Too bad other companies are no longer that way! Or maybe Toshiba makes such a great product that people don't need to call on them much!

So? I missed The View! And no, I'm normally not a watcher anyway.....but I was curious about Rosie's first day. How'd it go?

LOL Brin, exactly why I tuned in. It actually was very entertaining. Rosie tried a bit too hard and was a bit too loud but it still was better than it was. I stopped watching it long ago when it got so political. I was also so turned off by that Starr Jones after she made others pay for her wedding. Actually, even before then, I had read an article of how she ripped off a landscaper she had hired to redo her patio just before a photo spread of her fancy abode. He wanted his money and she told him she would give him an autographed picture of herself. LOL. How tackola is that? He had to sue her and of course she countersued him.

Oh and get this, the entire audience got a 3 day cruise on an incredible ship. Shoot, I needed that. LOL

You got into Toshiba right away? And you got someone who spoke English? And who actually knew what he was talking about?

I once called the Circuit City store several blocks from me to speak with one of their computer people about a problem I was having with my mouse. I got routed, from several blocks away, to INDIA, to someone who wouldn't listen to what I was saying, and kept trying to give me the 800 number that I'd already called. I don't think he knew any English because he just wouldn't respond to anything I said or any of the questions I asked. He just kept repeating the 800 number.

I was shocked also! My fav lately here in Ca is when you have to push 1 for English. I am in big trouble. No way can I learn a new language at this late date.
