Indeed, it is the CROW. Watching them in action over a period of time will convince us. They are quite common in the neighbourhood and they speak the local vernacular! LOL! Caaw... Caaaw in a 'pleasing' tone. Their favourite perching spot is on the elements of the TV antenna. I don't know why. People have to secure the pole/pipe so that it wont rotate at the shocks of the visiting birds.
The most intelligent bird
There was a young crow, a complete novice at flying, hopping about in my garden last week. Till then I was wondering why a few crows were cawing when I went there. They wanted to protect the sibling and were warning me. The music they can offer can be quite 'melodious'! Sometimes an agressive crow can strike us on the head with the beak in such situations. So I was careful.
You are a kind and gentle man it appears....im not so inamered with the crows. They get in the trash cans...they make a ton of noise...they land on the bird feeders and get them all out of whack...they try to get in the screen and eat the goldfish. And they are noisy as all get-out. Luckily, they are fraidy-cats, some noise or dogs..and they are gone....at least for a second :). Just love your post. I even fixed something the other day I would have normally thrown out. I thought back to one of your threads...showing the cobbler and the locksmith. Something to be said for slowing down in life. That being said...we have an Indian docotor and his family who live across the street. Genesh...he is an awsome Dr. has cancer clinics. Brings the money back to india to put into hospitals, and the same over there. Now that I think about it...they never stop...they WORK ALOT. When not working...there house is full of other Indian families with their children. His wife, a micro-biolagist at the University, teaches the children native dance and customs. Have NEVER seen them in a bad mood or seeminly stressed. Dont know how you do it!
I always loved crows and their antics, here's an article about their intelligence

I had a Crow that was almost like a pet a few years ago. He had one mangled foot and sort of hip hopped along on the ground. He was easy to spot. He knew exactly when to come up for seeds. It was as though he knew he was special! ;) I could practically 'call him' and he would come. lol I have not seen him in a while now so I guess he has moved on to other pastures.
