Hi dear Daver`s
I have holy days at the moment, so much of my time has been spent in from of the pc.
Yesterday started as usual, and was in the proces of answering some of the questions in the different forums. Then suddenly it happened, there was no internet conection!!! I tried and I tried with no succes. It was a terrible filling, what was I going to do?
Then I decided to go out in my tinny little garden, and finish some of the projects I had started long time ago.
But found my self restless, I just had to see if the net was working againg. Tried a few times, and succes!!! I could start looking at the forums and answering my many mails and so on. Then it hit me, I remembered one of my favotite poems, I have/had become an inter-holic.
To make it short, I got up as quickly as I could, finished my garden projects, spend some time with my dog. And finished lots of things that were undone.
In the afternoom I whent cykling arround the lake.
It is a very isolated area, but love it there, nothing happens here anyway so I always fell safe. I enjoyed the sun setting over the lake, and saw some falkons flying around.
Climb some apple trees and picked some cherry plums and just enjoyed the view and the fresh air.
Did not realysed it was that late till I came home, and found my DH freaking out. It was 09.30 pm, time has just passed, with out me noticing.
An inter-holic.
I now it is not the most exiting storry, but I just had one of the best days for a long time. Cost free LOL
The poem that inspired me/gave me a wake up call
Teevee, by Eve Merriam
In the house of Mr and Mrs spouse
She and he
Would watch teevee
And never a word
Between them spoken
Until the day
The set was broken.
Then “How do you do”
Said he to she,
“I don`t believe that we`ve met yet.
Spouse is my name.
What`s your?” he asked.
“Why, mine`s the same!”
said she to he,
“Do you suppose that we could be -?”
But then the set came suddenly right about,
And so they never did find out.
Provoking, funny, thoughtful. Know it is about a tv but the internet is just as well the same thing
Happy gardening to all from a recovering inter-holic :o)))

Terrific little story you've told! I appreciate it very much. And it made me think about life without Dave's Garden. How sad. My visits here everyday have become important to me, and how I would miss all the fun, beauty and wisdom that I find here.
Yet, I also long for a day such as yours. Thank you for entertaining and enlightening my morning!
Thats the thing that got me a bit frantic yesterday, when I could not use the net. Missed all my friends here in the garden, but desided to spend a day for my self.
Got a tommy ache though, ate to many apples LOL
Such a true poem, zest! I find myself going back and forth when I am doing things inside the house, checking my email, checking the forums....but when I am outside...I am totally there with my garden, my blooms, etc. Sometimes I think the internet is like an addiction for me...but not one I am willing to give up yet! =)
Thanks for sharing!
Rhonda
Hi Rhonda.
Yes gardens are some of he best ways to relax, and just forget all that has to be done.
The net is great, but in my case for the past few weeks just took to much of my time :o)
