What's Growing - Part 9!!

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

Al, I think I like it at your level ;0)) It's not too early to write Santa about the army men.

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

Al, you are TOO funny.
Kassia, Most of mine usually flop over, too. That's why I photograph them as soon as they start to bloom. In a week they will look a lot different.
Here is another plastic toy on Sedum. Shot today.

Orcas love sedum! I've been fighting them off for years. I'm totally unable to keep walrus anymore.

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

Hey, I am a novice garden... I may believe you...

Not a plastic butterfly...

Nice shot Kassia

sarahskeeper - what kind of camera do you use?

bigcityal - you made me fall off my chair laughing! Thanks!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Yank - thanks, I was laughing all the way out to take the pic.

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

I tried something mentioned in a thread somewhere here - I cut my sedum down in the spring. They are shorter, but they aren't flopping yet. I even wound up with extras from the clippings that rooted!

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

Yankee, I use a basic 4.1 MP Fuji E500 with a built in macro. The real credit goes to Adobe PhotoShop post processing. I'd be lost without it.

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

Anita, I do that with my Phlox. Never thought about the Sedum. Good idea.

Sarahskeeper - How does the memory card that holds the images get connected to your computer?

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

AYankeeCat - my camera has a cable which hooks the two up. I also have an external card reader, which is what I use.

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

I have the cable too. It came with the camera. I just plug the two together.

Well, it's been awhile since I've posted "what's growing" in my garden, mostly because there's not much new. But I took some photos today and put them together.

Very pretty, nap. nice Sept feel to it.

Looks great Nancy!

I never got around to getting that program yet, but here are some of mine today.

Great composition Nancy!
Al - I love the bottom left Rudbeckia. Is that a perennial?

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Maybe, that's Goldilocks again. I think it says perennial to 5a so we'll see. You want some seeds? Flowers last forever on it. Do you want some dog seeds also? Hey - I bet you didn't notice - those 2 flowers on the right are albino tricolor bush morning glories.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Thanks, guys.

Anita, I was just about to ask Al about the same one! I really like it. And the one next to it too.

Gram, I found the tag for the Japanese Maple. It says bloodgood or goodblood, I can't remember which.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

The bottom right is the dahlia Extase

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

Al, the dahlias are ever gorgeous. is there some reason we only get to see the back end of the dog...trying to remain anonymous?

I just got this pretty little gaura, but I'm so pleased with it. so much color from one little plant, and they've continued to grow and bloom since I planted them. like the way they look in front of the lamb's ear. I hope they make it thru the winter.

They are all gorgeous - I think I must really like pink - they are especially pretty. K.

Beautiful, Gram. K

There is a former pet black rabbit that taunts him along the neighbor's fence. He loves to chase rabbits.

Gram - I think gaura must be out of my zone as I have heard of it, but not seen it.

thanks Kay

Didn't see the rabbit, I thought it was another dog :) What is it with the pet rabbits? Doesn't pixie have a black rabbit around her yard that was someone's pet? I want to get a hold of people and give 'em a hard shake (hmph!)

Al...your brug looks great! mine is still about 4" tall LOL

gram

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

I'd love some seed of that Al - thanks!
I never had luck with Gaura although I do love it!
As usual, I'm lovin' everyone's pics!

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

I took a lot of close-ups today too. (the bottom left is intentionally blurry...do not adjust your set)

Just ordered one of those fancy cameras like sarahskeeper has from eBay. Now I have to figure out where to get plastic animals to pose in my photo shoots.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Nancy - I know someone out by Seattle that has a lot of blurry photos if you need them lol. I had already adjusted my set, looks good. How has your selling of cards been?

Yankee - fancy cameras are good, I could use a little more optical zoom for bug photos.
Dollar store has everything you need;)

here is the full shot of this again, I like this photo because the flowers look surreal.

Hi, you guys are very entretaining... reading this thread is for sure very funny...
love the "dog seeds" ...

if you guys want plastic bugs, plastic soldiers I am willing to trade that for seeds... my 5 year old nephew has so many that I can take some and he won't notice.... maybe I should pose some so you guys can choose!!!!

I got new sedum from Laura ... also veronica, ferns, bleeding heart and a beautiful Anemone... besides other ones that I don't remember the name right now...

This is what is growing .... miniature star & stripes ( I think!!!)

Ok - I think it's time for part 10 http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/649875/ . It's amazing how quickly these threads grow!

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Thanks for asking, Al, but I'm afraid my card-making has become more 'recreational' than 'profitable'. I still create them, but just don't promote them as much as I used to. Want to buy some? They're cheap.

Gram, I didn't have luck with guara either but yours is fantastic!

Al, Was that a petunia on the right side (3 down)?

Nancy, What is on the top right in your collage?

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Dave - that is one of the bush morning glories. It is in my 9:27 post also. It was pink earlier in the summer - that one has almost no color strangely.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

That's gerber daisies, Dave. They're laying down, so they aren't wide open.

Wellington, OH

Jack-in-the-pulpit seed pods. What in the heck am I supposed to do with them? I'm a gardening nerd.
