I don't know the name of that one but it has a slight pink overtone to the tips of the petals. i tried to capture it but not sure it really shows that well. Here it is by it's self.
What's Growing - Part 8
Anita ~ My corn gets all day sun, its about 6 ft right now.
Nothing in my yard gets all day sun - probably because of the 100ft Oak trees in the area. I have a few spots that get a good 8 hours.
8 hours should be plenty.
Anita could you d-mail me your address so I can mail you your seeds. i am not a part of the address exchange as it makes me nervous who can see where i live.

Pixie that daylily on the lower left is gorgeous - not that the others are so shameful. I've never seen anything that color in the garden.
My Lilium speciosum alba opened over night. Now I know I have to move them farther forward or we'll never see them - they are short - like 25-30" - or is it just because they're young? It looks like a smaller simpler version of Casa Blanca except the stamens are dark red instead of gold. I just have a few Black Beauties hanging on and then they will be gone too. i had to move L. regale a few times too to get the right spot.
alyrics ~ The daylily on the very bottom left is:
"Fat Lady Sings DOR (Shooter 2000) Dip 30"x 6" Late Re Frag Noc unk (HOBKIRK INN X BLUE VENTURE) ~ True deep magenta with paler sepals, prominent light midribs, chalky chartreuse throat and burgundy veining bitone"
It's one of the few late bloomers I own..but i'm working on that. (*wink)
Pixie - you've got mail!! Thanks!!
Fat Lady Sings!!!! I am rolling on the floor cackling. I would own it just for the name.
It is beautiful - truly.
Pixie, nice to meet the rest of the family.
My Le Reve is misbehaving! I have 2 bulbs. The first bloomed the 3rd week of July. It was beautiful. This week I saw that there was another lily with some nice fat buds. Great! I have Siberia which has never bloomed, so I assumed that was it. This morning there are 3 huge blooms....Le Reve! The stem is only about half the height of the first one. how am I supposed to figure out this gardening thing if they have split personalities?
Le Reve is french for 'the dream'.... maybe it's having a nightmare ;) I look at this forum when I get homesick for Maine, which is every day or so. Pixie, your cedar shingle siding put me over the edge, now I'm gonna shingle my shed !
This house is cedar shingles, but my next house will be log. My husband likes the aged look of cedar shingles, I like the look of log cabins...they just fit so well in the Maine woods.
We've always like the look of a log home. Wouldn't work where we are (treeless suburbia), but I can see that it would be perfect for you.
Sad news. I was shearing my yews this morning and stepped on the puny petunia. (hanging head in shame)
Andre
you have yews?? What do you do with your wool?
edited to say...DUH!!!!! I'm thinking ewes!

Youse kiddin', right?
nope - I was havin' a moment..pretty sad, huh? My brain goes to mush on Fridays at work when I'm bored to tears!
I'm never sure how to spell that, either. Yews, the evergreen shrub that deer like to eat.
Mine are the original foundation plantings, 20 years old and getting too big. I'm considering turning them into topiaries. They are very dense globes about 4 feet wide 3 feet tall. I've seen it done with varying success. Or I could simply yank them out, not yet though. I just spent an hour and a half on them.
Andy P
Well, we got over our petunia shame pretty quickly, didn't we, Andre? LOL
Yes'em
Gram, That was very funny!
Now, what did ewes guys do to Anita?
claypa ~ You said you get homesick for Maine...where in Maine are you homesick for?
Downeast... I d-mailed you
Ha Ha Dave...
