I wrote to the columnist of Our Town News' Best Sites on.the.web feature and he included my recommendations pretty much verbatim. The paper's online, so DG is out there yet again for search engines. Go, DG! :)

Another loyal reader has submitted a couple sites that you may want to visit. Check out "Gardenwife's" favorite places to go online.
davesgarden.com - It’s the best gardening site out there. The forums are what hooked me, and in the five years I’ve been a member, I’ve watched it grow into a flourishing community. They have a comprehensive Plants Database numerous plant-specific and regional forums, a Garden Watchdog which helps buyers choose reputable mail order nursery companies...It’s just a great, friendly site. We’ve made many real-life friends there and the number of Ohioans is growing by the day. Members have rallied to help hurricane victims and others who have fallen on hard times. It’s a great community for beginning and expert gardeners alike. You can read more about the specifics here. I’m Gardenwife there - look us up! : )
TrekEarth.com - A wonderful site for photographers to share their images from around the world. Travel the globe and see everyday life depicted through the eyes of those who live in each corner of the earth. People tell the stories behind the photos as well, so it is a fascinating glimpse into cultures we might otherwise miss. The sister sites, TrekLens and TrekNature, concentrate on creative photography and nature photography, respectively. They, like TrekEarth, afford visitors not only superb eye candy, but a great learning experience not only about photographic technique, but the subjects themselves. I am Gardenwife at all three of these sites, too.
