Botanical names help for newbies

After the discussion on using botanical names, I thought it might be useful if there was a web site that explained the botanical names so that those who wanted to learn them would have some idea of what thay were saying!

Here is a great web site with the botanical names and their explainations.

Baa, this is just wonderful...now if we could have this in combination with our Latin Lookup, everything would be just rosea.

Baa, thanks for that link. I use the botanical names, but I have trouble knowing what they mean. Why don't they teach Latin required?

Allen Park, MI(Zone 6a)

Thanks Baa I've also bookmarked it.

I worked my way through the Chiltern Seeds catalogue once, it's full of useful information.

Mary, THANK YOU! Perhaps Dave could make a side link on each plant/seed forum for these two links. They tell you JUST ABOUT all you need to know about a plant. Kay
