Hi folks. The thread for Monday is up at http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/636285/
Coffee and ... for Sunday, August 6
Well, well, I am am back, even though tired and sleepy. Will do an abbreviated version of commenting, tonight.
Sarv, Darius, I01, woodspirit, dang it all folks why can't you all stay well? I am keeping each of you in T&P. Hope that you heal in warp time.
M5, I just cannot fathom the idea that all of the cats seem to be getting along so well. What will it take for Souki to join this bunch.
Mary, that moonlight ride sound so good. Of course I am a romantic at heart, and would make a good "time away" for some like minded folks.
McCool, that salad sounds wonderful, and DH had seconds, so guess that recipe is a keeper. Hope that the Dr. appt, goes well, and DH is ready to go back to work.
cc, it was me who gave the advice to start digging. So glad that DH is looking at pond liners, sounds like you will have a pond in no time. Next year, you can "make" that your project, and plant accordingly.
To all those in WI, who had rain, Yipee. We had cloudy skies last evening, but no rain. According to the "weather experts" we are going back into the sauna this week.
Viann, now this week, sit down, put your feet up, read a book, or work on the afghans, and relax a little. Active ole me, has extreme exhaustion from living vicariously through your adventures the past 2 weeks.
dmc, just crack out the salt box, and add it to all the fluids you drink for the next few days, that should get the system back in tip top shape.
Hope, sorry to hear that you have further aggravations, cold showers in this heat, shouldn't be too bad, but hope that everything is fixed before winter. That zebra pic was adorable.
kooger, thank goodness for folks like you. Please urge Kandice to get the MRI for her sake and your peace of mind. Remind her that she has a responsibility to baby K to get this done. Thanks for being such a vigilent person. No matter what the relationship is at this moment, it is good to know that you still care.
This day has absolutely flown by. First church, then lunch, preparing for the fish fry, and then the fish fry and concert afterwards. This husband/wife team was short on gospel music, and long on testimonials, and preaching. When you bill yourself as musicians, I think you need to stick with that agenda. I go to church to hear my sermons, and don't need to have prospective entertainment turned into something else. Sorry, just ranting for an instant. The fish fry was successful, and my last one until September 2, when we have our annual fish fry for family, friends, neighbors. I like this one, as everyone is very appreciative, and enjoys themselves immensely.
So what do you plan for tomorrow? I am preparing a bed for some iris that I ordered from a coop. They will be here this week, and have to get that done, then, hopefully, wounding the laundry monster, and resting. DGD won't be back until Wednesday, so hopefully this will be "my week" to do as I please. I keep reminding myself, I am going to Reno on the 26th-30th, so that will be another mini vacation.
Maria, I am talking about the recipe for roasted tomatoes that is used as a side dish, or addition to other side dishes. Something about olive oil, roasting for several hours, with garlic, onion, etc. Do you have it? Saw it on the recipe forum, and can't recall the details. I am just being lazy, I can go back and do some looking for it.
Well, I will surely turn into a pumpkin, if I don't get this sent before midnight, and you all don't want to see a pudgy pumpkin with arms and legs. So good night all. If I missed anybody, sorry, can blame it on CRS, but rest assured that I read all, and promptly forget it. ~~~~to all. Night John Boy.
Hey All,
Long time no,,,um chat?,,,LOL Have been missing everyone. Talked with Elaine last week. Was planning on posting that night, but things just seem to get away from me.
Things have been going O.K. We put 2 new beds in this year. Fairly large ones. It took 10 yards of composted pig manure to fill them both in. Have hostas and companion plants transplanted and Still don't have enough room. We were going to put a 3rd larger bed in, but that may have to wait until next year. #1. I'm broke and don't want to spend money on compost. #2, It's been way dry here. I've had enough trying to keep up with the 2 new beds and the established beds,,,cant' figure out how I would fit another larger bed into the equation. So, that's where my time has been spent.
Finally got some Much needed rain in the past couple of weeks. One afternoon and night we got 4 1/2 inches. Before that we had a couple nice little soakers so I think it all went into the ground and didn't wash off. I one the plants are looking better,,,the weeds are bigger also. Got my substantial hiney out this morning around 7. Thought I would get some stuff done before the humidity came. Well, got sunny for awhile and then overcast. Actually got a lot of things done today. More tomorrow. Want to move some plants around. Don't like where they are.
Have been fighting a tooth ache for 2 days. Figures these things always happen on weekends,,,grrrr. It really only hurts when I talk, breath through my mouth, eat, drink and hit it with my tongue.
Hey Darius,
Think we could get a 2 for 1 deal somewhere? Sounds like you're in even more pain than I am. Will be begging the dentist to let me in tomorrow. Just can't stand the pain. Have been taking Ibuprofen by the handfuls. Maybe he has a payment plan if my insurance won't cover it. I think it will though if I get it pulled,,,I hope it will,,,,so, guess what?
Our TV just went out. Well, actually it was the color. He was bellering about only having B & W. Told him people used to be Happy just to have a TV. Told me we have to buy a new one. Told him welcome back to the 50's, get used to it, cause no new TV until this one goes completely. Then, I sat down to watch a show,,,,thought this stinks and we went July 4th and bought a TV. Thanks God for no interest for 18 months, or we would still be watching B & W. Hit a good clearance on the TV. Every TV a person has now, you have to have one of those stands. Looked at Everyone they had in the store. We couldn't agree on anything. Finally saw this one, asked the guy about it and he said it's on clearance for $39.99. Told him I'd take it. It's a really nice stand. He said originally it sold for $240.00. Thought he was nuts. No Way I would ever spend that much on a TV stand.
Well, I'll quit rambling now. I Will pop in tomorrow to see how things are going.
Well, have *skimmed* the posts. Hope all who are not feeling well, perk up really fast. Thsoe with good news, I'm glad to hear it. And those of us in pain, hope it goes away soon.
Kelly
