Time Zone is 1 hour out

Beautiful, BC(Zone 8b)

I've set my time zone as Pacific Standard Time but it comes up as Mountain time. What am I doing wrong?

I logged in as you and it looks like it's working correctly. Pacific Standard Time is 8 hours behind UTC/GMT.

Does it include daylight saving time? It shows 7:36pm but it's 8:36pm. Have I chosen the wrong time zone?

PST is not Daylight time. If you want daylight time, you should select Pacific Daylight Time. :)

So will it switch back to Pacific Standard Time after Daylight Saving Time?

I'm afraid not. For those in the US, I have a database that tells me which locations recognize daylight savings time or not. For Canada, however, (and for that matter the whole world) I don't have such a thing. Therefore it's impossible to tell when DST starts for you, as well as whether you even do it or not.

It's one of those manual things on DG. The solution might be to switch to UTC and the time will always be the same, but who wants that?

Oh I finally get it!!!!

YOU have to change your time zone whenever the daylight time has kicked in!? I went to my preferences and was marked as Central Standard Time but once I switched it to Central Daylight Time the clock comes up correct. Whew. Hopefully I can remember to switch it back again!

Those in the US, however, can just make sure to enter their zipcode in their location preferences and it'll automatically update each fall and spring.

Oh, thanks Dave! Thought I'd done that but I'll check it out. =)

Edited to say: hmmm, I checked Dave, mine has my zip in there still?
