I'm gonna do my best to make sure each one you that wants one gets a cutting this fall. There's a couple of new shoots coming up and that will hopefully help to provide enough for everyone. I'll have to take a head count later on and figure out just how many cuttings I can safely take from her.
7-17-06 until 7-20-06, the flowers only lasted 3 days. Only two of those days they were pretty. She has not always been the perfect brug so far in her short life, plenty of flaws .... but I sure do love her. :)
Say bye bye pretty flowers! ... sniff

What a beautiful Morning!
Oh please put me on the list also.
Vicki, I remember the very first time that you posted pictures of this brug. I just loved the soft, pastel, but "clean and clear" pink color to this brug. The color reminds me of what they call baby pink.
And I also like the shape of the bloom, the calyx and the wonderful tendrils.
If you have enough, I would love a cutting of it when you begin to share it. But if you don't, I can catch you another year. I think that this brug would be a good one to use in my future line breeding program using the "little miracle" seedlings from my late mother's Butterfly.
David (((H))))'s
Vicki, the pink on this brug is outstanding...I think everything is perfect....I would love to be on the list for a cutting..Michigan weather would be a good test to see if the color stays the same since we have such humid/cooler temps then you have...Love , love these pictures..it sure put a smile on my face this morning...Judy
I will happily make every effort humanly possible to make sure everyone gets a cutting :)
Gosh ... I never really intended to offer so many cuttings of her because she is still in trial and has no official name yet. But doggone it why not pass her on to however many she will provide for whether it be 5 or 25. She will get the chance to be trialed by many and your help will be of great value.
My only request is that no one share with others for a year after you get your first flowers. Give her a chance in your own evironment to show you her strengths and weaknesses throughout a complete growing season. It depends on your evaluations as to whether she will be officially named or not.
Please don't take her and run. I'm putting my faith in you.
Please be faithful to post her here at DG.
And please no ebay .... If I see her on ebay before trials are complete my heart will be broken :(
I hope this doesn't sound like too much to ask for.
I'll take a head count this evening. Offer expires at 6PM today 7-21-06
Thanks guys :)
ps ... if you've already shown an interest to grow her I will go back thru the posts and collect your names and post the list.

Vicki, you have my word that this brug is for you......This doesnt mean anything to this thread and its not to get sympathy but the beginning of this year I was down in the dumps, my mother passed away without warning... we didnt get to say good bye or even get prepared for her death.. I had no interest in gardening let alone my passion of brugs..now this is saying alot since I adore my plants......then after dragging the pots out and letting them sit, the yearning came back..I cant tell you the joy I get every time I run out to the brug garden and just touch the leaves, pick off the earwigs, tenderly look for buds...the little new ones that get a new tiny leaf on it has started my blood to flow again...so Vicki when you offered cuttings of this magnificent pink brug, I jumped to ask for a cutting...I will lovingly tend to her and let you know how she grows, of course lots of pictures will go to you....
I just want to say thank you for offering to share her with us, that in it self means you need to put a special name to her....Judy
Vee8ch -
I sent you a dmail. I am so absolutely smitten with this pink that I would be thrilled to have a cutting - if you have enough. I'm a newbie, have only grown one (Charles Grimaldi) but the pink of yours has captivated me.
Betsy
Vicki,
Quite honestly, you are not asking for much at all!
I just think it is a fantastic opportunity for those of us who want to test her in our various areas. It is a beautiful plant from beginning color to ending color. And let's not forget the curly tendrils. :)
I think it is very exciting, and thank you for the opportunity, if you have enough cuttings to go around.
I think your rules are worthy, and it will be interesting to see how it holds up in other areas for the next year :)
Vicki,
I promise to honor your wishes and to make update reports often on the progress of her growth, etc.
It is exciting to maybe get to grow out a special trial brug for you.
Thanks for including me in the list,
Louise
Thanks for understanding and for your support guys. This will be a fun project.
I received your dmail Ms. Betsy! You won't be left out. :)

When I found DG I found Joy that has been missing from my life for years. Judy, I hope you draw from that strenght and support that is here. Really, we are all in this together...
Wow Vicki, that is a huge load to bear! I had a tragic time in my life that I never thought I'd make it through either, but I'm here, and now I'm happy, thankz to brugs, Dave's Garden and members like you!
I too give you my promise to honor your wishes. I promise to share pictures when I can, info on heat tolerance, etc. not to share until you say it's okay and never sell this brug to anyone anytime. There is no way would I could even think of profiting from your generosity. I not only would be honored to grow for you, I KNOW the feeling I'd get to go outside and sit with her and watch the sun come up... THAT is the best gift of all.
OK guys, This is the combined list from posts and dmails. Please make sure I didn't overlook someone. I'll resurrect this thread in the fall to make sure we haven't lost anyone and to get your mailing addresses. It's gonna be such a fun project :)

O Vicki, I'm so glad to see my name on that list!!!!!
Looking forward to a fun fall and winter here -
thanks,
Louise
Yeah!! I am so excited about this!
Thanks so much for including me on your list!
Vee I just saw the post and I hope there is room for me. The brug is beautiful and I would love to see how it does here in East Texas. We have heat and humidity you would not believe. I understand what you expect from the grower. I have over 100 seedling growing for other right now. I am look for brug that people can grow in this heat and humidity. Brug are very new here and not very many people know about them so I am keeping very close watch for brug that will be beautiful and fun for East Tx. Joan
Oh yes I would believe the heat and humidity lol!
Melanie changed her mind so I'll just slip you into her spot ... no problem :)
Thank you so much this will be great fun. I will give you reports every few months on how she is going. Joan
hey got any pollen you can send me know please ! would love to use some of her pollen
Elva
Elva unfortunately she doesn't have any pollen this time of year. Some brugs just don't produce pollen when it is real hot. I saw your pollen request on another thread and wished I could offer you some of this one.
It's kinda hard to tell from this pic but her little anthers in every flower are bare.
What a kewl picture that is!!
Barb
Yes, what an unusual photo angle - how interesting!
I'm closing my eyes, smiling and thinking of when those will be growing in my garden!!!!
Thanks again,
Louise
Vicki,
I did not know this about the pollen. Is true of most brug? The anthers do not look puffy on my L'Amour. Would that mean that it could not take pollen for crossing now? Thank you. Joan
Darn I sure missed out! I came back for another look and there was a cutting list :( I would have loved to have been on the list but maybe next time! It was so nice of you Vee to give so many cuttings of your new baby! I hope everyone has lots of fun with her!!
Caren
Joan, some of my brugs produce pollen in the heat, some don't. Last year I did an experiment and pollinated a brug that didn't have any of its own pollen. I wanted to know if the lack of pollen would mean the flower would be sterile. It did accept the pollen I dabbed on it and a seed pod did develop.
Caren, If my new shoots grow big and strong I may be able to share with more people than what's on the list. I won't forget you.
Tonny, ... ya just never know. Maybe a little birdie will fly over and drop one on your compost pile :)
Dont hack your plant outta wack for me!! But I would'nt turn ya down if ya had extra lol! I can wait till next year or when ever....

Unfortunately it looks like I'm only gonna be able to send about 7 cuttings of her this year without destroying the shape of my trees.
The first 7 people to D-mail their mailing addresses will receive their unrooted cuttings mid October .... if your weather permits.
Postage paid by me. No trades or postage reimbursment needed.
I cannot promise your cutting will be from above the Y.
The remaining 7 people will Not get cuttings for trials and evaluations. :(.
Sorry ... I can't take on new request for this brug. I have all the Evaluators needed and there's just not enough cuttings for everyone.
Please Remember there are conditions you'll need to keep in mind if you want a cutting:
This brug is for Trials and Evaluations only. You will not be free to trade it, give it away or sell it until I make my decision as to its worthiness to be officially named.
1. Do not share with others for a year "After You Get Your First Flowers".
A. You'll be evaluating Overall Health and Growth Rate of plant
B. Number of Flowers and Frequency of Flushes
C. Uniqueness of Flowers
D. Heat and Drought tolerance
It will depend on all grower's (combined) evaluations as to whether she will be officially named and released by that official name or not.
2. Keep me updated here on DG forum or thru D-mail or E-mail of her progress.
3. No Ebay sales
4. If I decide to Not Name her she will still be yours to keep and do with as you wish but you must promise to never name her. She must always be called simply Rosamond x Dr. D.
5. Please don't take her and run. You are putting your reputation as a trustworthy Evaluator on the line. Others will observe how you handle your Evaluator responsibility. This brug is unique enough (so far) that I will be able to spot her if she shows up somewhere she shouldn't be before she is officially named. I'm putting my faith and trust in you.
Sorry that there has to be harsh sounding rules but in our brug world these things have to be stressed and clarified.
Looking forward to this project :) ... vicki

I like the way you structure your guidelines for trials. I have seen too many situations where trust has been violated because it was not made clear what was expected of the person trialing a brug.
A good example is the Brug 'Tatiana'. Tatiana was distributed for trials. Not released yet. all of a sudden she showed up on ebay. I believe there was just a misunderstanding and it was "believed" that she was released. Lack of communication or lack of specific guidelines allowed this brug to slip through the cracks before a clear evaluation of the brug was met. As it stands, that brug is still in question. Her growth habits have not been consistant and the hybridizer was upset because she did not want somebody paying big bucks on ebay for a brug that has questionable qualities. So, what you are doing is good and it will eventually release a brug (hopefully release it) that has been put through the proper evaluations making it a trustwothy purchase or trade. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for the encouragement Gary.
One of my dearest friendships was ruined a couple of years ago due to the fact she did not properly communicate the Evaluation facts with another friend of mine. It was an ugly mess that could have been avoided had the two of them communicated with each other. I got stuck in the middle :( .... A situation that still breaks my heart to think about.
95% of the blame for evaluation miscommunication is due to the person that sends out the cuttings, no matter if they are the hybridizer or the seedling parent.
You must let every person that receives your cuttings know what their responsibilties are ... every little detail, up front and honestly from day one. Make sure you yourself keep in contact with your evaluators.
You can't distribute more than a few cuttings and expect that you will be able to keep watch/control over them. The more you send out the less control you'll have. In reality all you need is a couple of helpers.
If someone does not honor their word then mark that person and move on. There's plenty of honest people that will treat you right. Form your own little circle of close friends to help you with evaluations but don't forget the newbies. They need a chance too so they can learn what evaluations are all about.
Vicki, I am sorry I did not get to help you with this but I understand there is a limit to how many you can send out. I wish you the best of luck on this brug and please let us know what happens with her. Joan
Hey Vicki,
I just sent you a D-mail with my address and you know that I am going to abide by the rules. ;)

So lovely - like dancing butterflies.
Tussee
Vicky, this was the first time I've seen this post and yours and Sue's beautiful flower. 'Just wanted to let you know she looks like a showstopper to me!
I LOVE that light baby pink and those long tendrils. Also the lovely peach when it reaches that stage.
I think you have a winner here. I'll get one down the line in a year or two. I have good friends who made your list.
Congrats on a beauty!
Kay
