Rosamond x Dr. D ... a 2nd year Poppysue hybrid I'm trialing!
A couple of weeks ago the flowers were disgusting. I was so disappointed. With this flush I'm in love again.
Her fragrance is awsome, her flowers are huge and she really made my day :)
What a beautiful Morning!
Oh wow! How beautiful! I love the color!! And the points aren't too bad either! :)
WOW what an awsome flower.
Vee, she's gorgeous! Is it really THAT pink?? Since you're in Palm Bay, she must be doing OK with the heat and humidity. If you decide to do cuttings in the Fall I'd sure love to have one.
Barbara
OH MY GOOOOSH! That's BEEEEUUUUUUTIFUL! The pink is the softest, most subtle PINK I've ever seen. Reminds me of a baby girl and cotton candy.
FABULOUS!
Absolutely beautiful!
Thanks guys :)
Yes she is that color of pink but the color will change to a more coral color as the flowers age.
I'll post an offer for cuttings this fall and let a few help me finish my trials to see how it grows in other environments before I officially name it.
Barb actually all of my ground brugs except Ecuador Pink, Rothkirch and another Poppysue seedling are doing just fine in mostly sun, heat and humidity ... so far. But just like last year by the end of summer they will be practically nekkid and ready for cooler days ahead ... lol! Just like me ... hee!

WOW that is beautiful!
Congratulations to you and Sue!!
What a beauty she is. And in the FL heat and humidity, too! Everything in your pics looks so lush and healthy.
Barb
Wow !! Very pretty looks like another low rider canadate! I love the pink so soft.

Utterly lovely! WTG!

What else can be said. Thanks Poppysue and you also for posting pictures. Just when you think you have seen the prettiest one, another raises up.
Thanks guys again!
After 24 hours her color has changed from yellow to that pretty girly pink (happened during the night) and now to this coral or more peachy pink. She doesn't look like the same brug flower. She's looking like she could use a corolla augmentation right now. ... hee! She faints in the heat and looks her best in cooler temps.

Still a very pretty color.
I was noticing your leaves and how they kinda curve upwards, almost like a hibiscus, or maybe it's just the angle of the camera. Please excuse my ignorance, but that's the best way I can describe them. :)
I'd be fainting too if I had to stand and look pretty all day in this heat and humidity!
Beautiful job!
She probably has a bit of a magnesium deficiency. I can't remember the last time I fed the poor thing. If I continue to not feed her she'll be bald as a cucumber in another couple of weeks lol!
Just found this !
Wow !
What a yummy color !
A Dr.D kid eh?
Seems to be haunting me 'cause I didn't like how Dr.D grew here and trashed it at the end of Summer.
Must be one of those 'breeder' brugs that makes a better parent than individual.
Had a storm come throught here late last night and snap off a few brugs at the ground line .............. boo- hoo

Scoot, I wondered why we never see much of Dr. D anymore. I always loved the pics I saw of him. Maybe he pooped out. I never grew him so I have no idea what he is like.
Melanie of couse you will be on the list. Don't forget that I have several I still intend to send you including that surprise double white.
The last pics I'll post of this flush. She recovered from the heat stroke.
.... and guess what else? She got a good dose of Messenger too. .... yes yes yes ... hope she doesn't grow wrong side out and have upside down flowers .... hee!
Wow Vee, those are just beautiful. I really like the color and the curly tendrils...
Congats to you and Poppy.... :o)
Dee
Your plant is so awesome!! I just got back from the nursery after having bought my very first Brug. Do you have any advise for a beginner?
Penny in Palm Beach Gardens, Fl
wow Vicki she is very very nice. Love the flower shape
Vicki, she is to die for, the color takes my breath away. How blessed you are to have such beauty around you. And thanks for sharing it.
Any extras could come to Utah, I am sure they would love it here :) hint HINT
Marie - Wanna be brug Lady.
Thank you Dee, Donna, Boszor and Myree :)
Boszor my only advice to beginners in FL is:
ammend your sandy soil with lots of peat and compost
Give your brug morning sun afternoon shade if it acts ugly in full sun.
and #1 "don't get discouraged" if a particular brug doesn't perform well for you. Get rid of it and try a different one. :)
Myree, I'll definitely remember you when it comes time to release this brug :)
Congrats to you and Sue, I just adore those tendrils!!!!..........would you keep me in mind for a cutting come fall for NE Ohio??
you take delightful photos too!
Laurrie
very nice, :-)
I'd like to be remembered this fall too!! Maybe the cutting will just adore southern Indiana? :)
Thank you :)
I'll keep everyone in mind that would like a cutting ... for sure :)
She would definitely put a smile on someone's face first thing in the morning!
I keep coming back to this thread just to get a glimpse of such beauty. I would do whatever it takes to be included in the list for a cutting. This brug is my image of a perfect pink... I would be honored to have her in my collection!
Thank you so much!
Vicki,
Thanks for growing the beautiful brug and sharing it's pictures!
It is such things like this that keep us who are new to brugs
willing to jump thru all the hoops to get to that place!
I would love to be added to the fall cutting list for an east Texas trial - I'm sure she would love it here!
Louise
