Coffee...and for July 18, 2006 we came from over here: http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/627405/
Okay tell us what is on your docket for the day. If the heat persists, and the weatherman says it will, I will be working inside, other than the early morning garden walk, or the "at dusk" weeding.

Coffee...and for July 18, 2006
Just reading over yesterdays (17th) posts. Have been so busy all day today with work and got home from work and started with the kids. I was out watering this evening and noticed my fig tree has so many ripe ones on it that it cant wait til weekend to be picked. I had to pick some today or have them ruin on the tree and fall to the ground for the critters to eat. They go bad quickly when picked so I made a batch of strawberry fig preserves out of todays pickings. I will probably have more to pick at least by Thursday or Friday and then will make some more. Probably just regular fig preserves next time (DH likes it).
I cant comment much more now as I am exhausted and have to go to bed now. Will catch up with you all in the a.m. Good night all.
Heya! I got out at dusk to do some watering, but it was still pretty darn hot. My poor fig tree need to be up-potted -- its leaves were somewhat wilted, but I am hoping it will recover after a good watering. DH put the big umbrella (one of those offset ones, serves as an awning on the deck) down last night thinking we might have a storm, and we forgot to put it up this morning, so all those poor plants got a day in the super-hot sun. I am surprised that only the fig tree looked poorly.
I went out again at midnight, wearing my new headlamp.... pulled a ton of kudzu-like vine that I think is wild morning glory off the shrubs in the front foundation bed. The pink phlox that was passed down from Jim's grandmother has become enormous this year, must be 5 ft. tall and is in full bloom now, with big poofs of flowers as big as your head! (slight exaggeration -- but only slight!) Then I proceeded on to the sweet pepper patch behind the dining room to pull weeds there. The tomatoes along the back are really sprawling and sending their vines all over.... will have to rein them in a bit somehow... also need to spray again for fungal blight. But I found a ripe tomato to eat on the spot! :-9 At quarter to one, the temperature suddenly reached the dew point, and every surface around got sopping wet. Since the weeds were too slick to pull, LOL, it was clearly time to clean up a little at the hose, get a cold drink, and check in at DG before heading up to bed!
Susan, so sorry to hear you have to go through all that treatment for your gums -- no fun for either your mouth or your wallet, but necessary. Reminds me that I really need to call for an appointment to get my teeth cleaned. :-]
Waving ~~~~~ to everyone and wishing y'all sweet dreams!
Okay - what are all yall doing up at this time of night/morning? Unless you are tending to plants, you should be in bed - resting up to tend to plants in the morn'.
I haven't read all from yesterday just McCool, I wish I could stay out of the heat and sun. I am a construction worker mostly a stop flagger or water truck driver. Currently I am stop flagging...LOL ya know the one who says "only 5 minutes" and it turns out to be 10...
Hey it's coolin down from 112 to 110 tomorrow. It hit 113 yesterday.
Twyla glad to hear that your getting better and not in pain..I too need to get to the dentist for a cleaning...will have to wait till winter lay off.
Susan hope the gum treatments go well. I had that done once....
I hope the sick kitty is getting better, glad to hear the eyes have quit twitching. LOL I can't remember kittys name at the moment.
Well off to the shower and to work~~~~~~~~~~~~~~to all I missed and see ya tonite....Hugs Lauri
Just stopped in to say hello! Ernie and Maria told me about this thread...thanks! Then Earnie dmailed me to tell me how to actually use it correctly:)
Maria, it was very nice meeting you! Maybe I could get an herb lesson before you leave?
If you guys make it to B'Ham give me a jingle so we can get together.... I'll even feed you lunch! Nothing special mind you, Kitchen Miss, I am not :) We would be glad to have you over!
I'm sitting here eating cherries (Queen Annes) from Ernies. (OK, that was last night)
Ernie..... I stopped by that wood shop on the way home.......I think I may have found several over 8' ft++ stakes for your matoes.. which, I forgot to look at........ Those darn dogs, catching my eye, distracting me....I LOVE them....... Thanks bunches for the onions too. I owe you some weeding so I can continue to wear my "Will Weed For Food" sign:)
Man I must have been tired last 7/17 or was it 7/16????...what a messy post..fixed it up a little.....sorry!
I'll have to let my DH know that there are crazier people out there than me! And he thinks 10/10:30 at night is bad......12-1am???? Is it because of the heat? I'll have to get DH's headlamp and try that out. Not at midnight though...that's computer time. Oh and the morning glory is the devil!!! I have to go out constantly and keep that stuff from my plants!
Just finished freezing my blueberries...have some fruits and veggies to take care of when I start my July 18th day. Have a great July 18th!!

Good morning all,
Since all the posts so far have been from west coast people at some insane hour of the morning, I think I qualify as the first REAL morning post. Still hot here; so I think I'll spend the day doing some web page updates. But first I have to get my car in for some service.
BBL Have a good day.

Hi all! It's still 73 here, and pretty sticky, but way better than 97. I'll get out to work. By this evening we're supposed to have thunderstorms.
Twyla-So glad to hear you're feeling a little better, now just take it easy in the heat.
9kitty-Glad to hear "the Cone" is better (LOL) but sorry you have to have all the dental work. Yes, it's necessary, but to me it's like paying for torture!
petra-108, AAARRRGGGH....Seems like Death Valley, not regular neighborhood temps!
somer-I so wish I had cherries....that's one thing I would absolutely love to have an abundance of. I have young pie cherry trees, and two new hardy sweet cherries that did survive the winter, but it's really unlikely I'd ever get sweet cherries here. It's a dream though....after reading your post, I opened up a jar of last year's cherry preserves....mmmmmm. I need to get me to a farmer's market.
Seems to be clouding up fast here, to be honest it's a relief. Guess I'll dose myself with bug spray and go photograph today's daylilies. Be back later!
Hope you are all getting some relief....
morning!! went out to set up the sprinkler and it is so nice out.!!!
i'm having my 1st cup and a banana. then it's outside to work. no this morning it will be a pleasure being outside. i did look at the daylillies and i'm getting some really pretty ones. i don't know names and will have to look them up. one is a pretty yellow. kind of double petaled and very thick petals.
9kitty glad snowcone is doing better.
will probably be on later when it gets to hot. so you all have a good.
Hi again,
Hopefully my fingers are sufficiently awake that I can now type. (Maybe not. I made about 5 mistakes typing that first sentence).
Susan - I'm sorry to hear of the necessary dental work. Expensive and probably painful.
Would you all like to offer an opinion on one of my web page updates?
I've put up three changes of background color for my basic hosta web page. Would you like to take a look and let me know which you like best? Note, there are no links to these pages; so if you follow any of the links you won't be able to get back except by using the "back" button.

http://www.magma.ca/~fredrkng/Ann/Ann_hostas-mauve06.html

I'm going to make some other changes as well, but they will take a bit longer.
Ann
Morning everyone! We never did get that rain!!! So I was up at 4:30 and outside by 5 watering everything real good. The back yard is easy before the sun comes up because the neighbors have this light on a pole that lights up their yard my yard and the two houses behind us. Came back in at 7 made another pot of coffee and came down here. Been reading posts forever. I haven't looked at what the weather is supposed to be. I know it felt a whole lot cooler this morning than it has in almost a week. It was 70 at 5am. Don't know what it supposed to be I just don't believe weatherpersons any more.
I guess I should have waitied to transplants my peonies for cooler weather. one of them has never got over the transplant wilt and the other two were kinda droopy yeterday and yet this morning. Guess thats what I get for being impatient. Once I had the new bed done I needed it planted. Can never wait. Always "right now' for me.
Coffee must be done now. Going to get a cup BRB
Good morning all. DH had to get up early to take his mom to the Dr, and I was going to try to sleep in a bit, but Mr. B. had other ideas. So have been up since 6:30, read the paper and finished my quota of coffee. Getting ready to do my morning garden walk, hope it is not as hot as yesterday.
I just realized that we haven't heard from Molly for a while, hope she checks in and let's us know she is okay.
Well, off to the great outdoors, to make sure all flower children are okay. Will be back.
G' Morning...
Had a nice but too short visit with my sister. She left about 15 minutes ago. We spent nearly all day yesterday getting her a Virginia driver's license and transferring both vehicles to Virginia, tags, inspections, etc. The local DMV had their photo machine down, and then their computers went down so we had to drive north to the next big town. Finally finished up after 4 pm but too hot then to do much else.
On Sunday, we made 4 trips with stuff from storage here. Moved almost half of what's there. To my dismay (worse really than dismay but I dare not use those words) in the 3 weeks we had stuff in there, water came in under the door and I have over $6,000 in damage to my art collection of signed and numbered prints. I am really upset about that because the most valuable one took me 10 years to find and obtain. Have to see if our insurance will cover any of it.
My sis says I am taking advantage of her money allocated for this house since I bought $50 of mulch (not the free mulch I got from the tree folks) and wrote a $9 check for a birth certificate because I can't find my own checkbook. She seems to think gardening is a waste. Somehow the fact that a DG friend is giving me (us) a tiller and a riding mower doesn't compensate for the money spent for mulch!
She also fussed that I worked on some gardening when I could have pulled the staples out of the LR floor and painted it by now. I guess she has never tasted a fresh garden tomato, or has forgotten.
I'm sure we will continue to have disagreements but hopefully after her house in FL is sold and her stress level comes down they will be fewer and spaced well apart. It's true that I am spending her money but it's also true that this is her house and she ultimately benefits. Plus the fact that everything I own will be hers someday.
Sorry, just needed to vent.
Lovely cool morning, nice breeze. Talked tomy DS up in the UP of Michigan, and it was 58 this morning up there (Thank you, Canada) after a week of sweltering heat and no A/C. Have windows and door open and it feels wonderful.
Susan, the periodontal surgery sounds like a bargain, I paid $1200 for my first, and then paid it again for the second. Insurance covered 80%, or I probably wouldn't have been able to do it. First they did the right side and then the left. Surgeon told me it should last twenty years. I told her it better or I would hunt her down. Well, it did, and I haven't had to become a stalker. Then, I eventually had to have the uppers pulled, due to continuous infections etc. Glad Snowcone is getting back to health, wish all the rest of the ailing could recover as quickly.
V'ann, I vote for the blue! Makes your colors pop even better! It does take a long time to redo any kind of computer graphics and text. DH has a web page, and his first site went out of business, so he had to start all over with a new one I heard a lot of mumbling and muttering but was wise enough not to stick my head in the door to find out why.
Welcome, Somermoone, nice of Ernie to introduce you to this gabfest. Feel free to inquire about any of our comments that leave you shaking your head....we have a traveling cyber 2X4 to use on wayward spouses or other miscreants, and should you have need of it, just ask. We go back a long way, and if you care to waste a lot of time, you can just link back from the first post of the day to the previous one, etc. And assure your DH that there are plenty of crazy people here, so you won't be lonely.
Need more coffee, and breakfast and a shower, so I'm gonna move on and check in later. ~~~ at everyone, hope all have the day you wish for.
Sheila
Hi again,
I suppose that I really should do something useful like cleaning the bathrooms, etc. but ...
Darius, so sorry about the damage to your art.You said your visit with your sister was nice and too short; so I hope that means that in spite of her complaints about your modest gardening expenses that most of the visit went well. Bummer about the delays getting the licenses, but at least it's done now. You amaze me at your activity level; so hopefully once your sister's house is sold she will be in a better position to appreciate all that you've done to the new place already.
Sheila, so far it's one vote for blue and one for yellow on the web pages. Any others? I might ask the Hosta people to vote. LOL
Ann
Viann, I vote for the blue, it just looks cleaner or something, besides that is one of my favorite colors.
Darius, I am sure that you will have "counting to 10" down pat by the time your sis settles in. Feel free to vent, as your handymen probably don't give a flip about your problems.
M5, those temps sure sound good to me. Went out for my garden walk, and it is already hot and steamy.
Another comment on gum surgery. Had the whole thing done about 8 years ago, and so far so good. I have also had grafts, and braces, caps and bridges, so I have a fortune in my mouth. If it helps me keep my own teeth,it is well worth the pain and expense. DH is always grumbling about his dentures.
~~~ at cc and ves.
DGD and I have been finishing up cleaning her toy room, have to vacuum there. The company coming tomorrow will take all available beds, and a couch. So we will sort of be like sardines, but that's okay. Can do that for a day or so. Planning a cook out for Wednesday night, and gonna try the omelet in a bag for Thursday morning. So the cooking is gonna be easy. Have to run out to get some milk and some snacks for "poolside" on Wednesday. So will check in later.
V-ann I vote for blue also. Course for me anything blue is the correct color.
Yes Darius, I too am sorry for the damage to your art work. Anything worth saving? Can any of it be fixed??????????
Hello Somermoone. And welcome. I new to this site as well and they all have made me feel quite welcome. Even when I am trying my hardest to go from lazy to unlazy.
Sheila, you are right. This morning is a lifesaver being so nice. When hubby said no rain last night I just knew today would be a scorcher. The weather person can be right once in awhile can't they.
Walked around the property and took cuttings for more bouquets. DH says I won't be happy till all 37 vases are filled. He's right of course. I really do need some red ones. I have enough blue and green and clear. No body parts with red vases and every red one I've obtained the kids always manged to break. Glad they're older now and if they break one they have jobs Replace it.
Welcome tummy's talking so I have to go figure out what I would like to nibble on for breakfast. Hint: it will not be pizza this morning. BBl
Ann-I like the pale yellow background the best. I spent the morning rearranging the plants around my little pond, after that garden tour. I bought afew new plants, but I need a few more. i think H. Paul's Glory might be one I "need"....enjoyed looking at your plants!
darius-Let's hope the heat and stress are whats making your sister a little touchy. Once she's there it will probably be handy that she'll specialize in the house, and you the garden. Does the storage company have insurance? If not I hope homeowners will cover it. That is such a shame.
Okay, will be back....~~~~~~
Darius, knew you'd be busy once your DS got there. Hope she pulled some staples so she knows what a tedious job it is. I'm sure once she gets the house sold, she'll be more relaxed. Or maybe that's her basic personality, and that's why the multiple husbands!! Anyway, you can tough it out, and walk away if she gets in a snit. I think you've done a tremendous amout of work since you got there, I hope she appreciates it. How's the DD doing away from home?
What a shame about your prints, any possibility of getting them cleaned up or restored? How high is the deductible on the homeowner's ins. You know if you make a claim, they not only flag your file, but raise your premium, so make sure it's worth the trouble. Does the storage facility have any coverage for damage?
Just popped in here on my way to the kitchen, got everything done but the breakfast. Gotta go, too much loafing going on here.
Sheila
Edited for rotin speeling...LOL
Good morning. Gonna be another toasty one.
Yesterday I went up to my neighbor's (2 miles or so up the road but only 1 occupied house between us) on the spur of the moment. She wasn't home so I left her a note under a rock by her front door, " Hi, I wuz here, u wuzznt, cee ya." I got an email from her this morning, she liked it. I thought no matter how tired and hurting she was she would get a chuckle.
Breezy seems to be better this morning after just one dose of the new medicine! For comparison, last evening at feeding time and just before I gave him the first dose, he ran up the hill to be fed and coughed hard 5 or 6 times. This morning he came running from even farther down the hill, only one cough! Thank you God! Wooopee!! He will get a minimum of 6 doses at 12 hour intervals and hopefully that will have him cleared out and I will be able to enter him in the next ride in a couple of weeks.
Today I will be in town for about half the day for dental cleaning, lunch with hubby, then chiropractic adjustment and grocery shopping. I had the heavy dental cleaning thing done several years ago, now I just go for routine cleaning every 4 months but also get some really nasty tasting, long acting antibacterial stuff squirted down along the roots in the deeper pockets. The part I really hate is a thing I call the microblaster, it emits a sound that makes fingernails on the blackboard seem pleasant. There is a fortune in my mouth too, but I'm happy to have my teeth and want to keep them as long as possible.
Ann, I'm so glad you are feeling better. Don't get impatient an do too much before you are completely over it. Later today I'll try to get over to your hosta forum and take a look.
Twyla, you sound good. Things feel so good when they quit hurting, and I emagine you had a whale of an infection going on there too.
I need to get rest of the vegie garden irrigated and then clean up to go to town. ~~~ to everyone I missed. See you later.
morning all , having trouble moving around arthritis and back.. i have to use a cane and walker time to time on account of knee.today is bad day with knee..Everyone be careful in heat, house wasoven early this morning.. need to do one load clothes and vaccuum..take care all.. blessings.. Twyla
Morning everyone. Well, it is right now while I'm starting this post anyway. :-) And *no* I did not just get up! LOL
We got more much needed rain last night, so I didn't have to go out and water this a.m. Went out to see how everything was looking as it was a pretty severe rain ... but everything survived just fine. Will give the things under the carport and front porch a drink with the rain water I've collected over the past couple of days. That should make them sing.
Darius, so sorry about your things getting damaged. Hope the storage place has insurance. Oh, and *sisters*! Can't live with em ... LOL
Well, there's the DH gonna pop in for lunch, so I'll have to come back later to respond to everyone else. Just waving to everyone for now.
~~~~~
Hi Mary yes were infected to its still wee sore but so better i can forget this now.. now in few months if think can take pain got 2 or 3 more.. i sure hate getting pulled like that .. My husband 4 yrs ago or 5 now had everything done it was fortune.. he always kept them up.have good day all.. thanks everyone... blessings..
Twyla
Nope, no insurance coverage from the storage people. Contract clearly states that they are not responsible. I won't know for a few more days the full extent of the damage as I still have things to unwrap. Homeowner's insurance has a thousand dollar deductible so if they actually will cover the loss there will be some $$. Can't replace my prints, though.
Don't the storage people have a responsibility to keep things dry - or was this an unusually wet "act of God"? I wonder if that would stand up in small claims court.
i'm back with 3 bee or wasp stings from the neighbors place. don't know if watering her stuff is worth that. the have a hugh hive by there one garage door and a plant to water just about under it on the ground. of course i'm not looking up, to many things to see lower down. won't make that mistake again. the screen door came off the 1 upstairs balcony. i didn't feel like fixing it. my DH has to come over with me later and help replace railroad tie. beautiful place that is just falling apart. inside hasn't been painted in the 15 yrs. they've owned it. no outside maintenance either. you're talking a place worth 2-300 grand. plus 40 acres. now that's out of my system!!!!!!!!!!
darius i don't have the whole story of what's going on. so good luck and sorry about your artwork. my sister is a sweetheart but don't know if i could live with her.
marye glad your horse is better. they are so beautiful.
hope/twlyla glad you are doing better but be careful of your back..
hi~~~~~~to everyone else.
yesterday when
dh and i went shopping [he got haircut] i went to salvation army and found the neatest coffee pot for camping. i don't camp so will use it in one of my flower beds. it was only 99. i've got a few teapots also.
ds has one i want really bad and she won't part with it.
dug up a few plants to move elsewhere. the thunbergia and morning glories want to overtake them.
good thing i need some for the bed i redid and a few bare spots.
i need dental work also but put it off. after all i'm hearing maybe i'd better start getting it done. but like everyone says but it is so expensive.
hope you are all getting done what you want!BBL vicki
VAnn... I'd hate to be a newcomer in a small town like this and then take someone to court. Besides that, I signed the rental contract which absolves them from ALL damage upfront.
I just talked to the museum of fine arts in Boston. My favorite (and inexpensive) print is no longer available. It might interest you as it's a photo taken during an Interval at Glyndebourne, a famous opera house. http://www.glyndebourne.com/about/ab0000.cfm?CFID=1307469&CFTOKEN=533198874270990c-8286954D-B0E7-436E-076F9B46CE9B8FDA
Vicki, put fresh lemon on those bee stings.
Well had to run a few errands, and am back home. Stopped at DM's to see if she needed anything, and her driveway is a b---. Have navigated it for 15 years without incident, but the law of averages finally got me. Her driveway has a curve in it, and a light pole and telephone pole, and guide wires for the telephone pole. A pole on either side of the driveway. Well today, I was backing out, and hit the light pole, knocking the side mirror off. DH was in the garden just beside the drive, hear the noise and came out,fussing and fuming. He always does this, I told him that I wasn't the idiot who ran into a rock wall, and then backed into a telephone pole destroying the tailgate on his truck. We after we got back, he is in a fine mood. He hates to be reminded of his errors.
|Mary, glad the horse is better.
Hope, take some advil for the back.
Darius, sorry about your art work.
Ves, put that lemon on the stings, works everytime.
I01, you have had rain several days in a row haven't you? Good cuts down on the need to water.
Well, gonna go use the power washer on DM's front porch, she has many spiders there, and you know what a mess they make.
BBL.
Hi all.Guess what? About 3 months or so ago I had bought a gardening magazine for something to read. Anyway they had this questionnere in it so I filled it out and sent it in. Then around the end of juse I received a letter stating that my name was chosen for a free gift and it would be sent directly from the supplier. Needless to say I forgot about it. Fed Ex pulled in my driveway and I thought he was lost..........it was me gift! Pond art...afloating pond frog with pump included. Its so cute...........I don't have a pond yet waaaaaaaa.. I want a pind now . I was content waiting a few more years but now I have a frog fountain with pump......Aren't I just a terrible person? I want, I want......martagon lilies, a pond a couple more spaces to urn into garden beds. I better watch it or DH will decied I'm too high maintenance.
You know Vicki what always worked for me with any knid of bee wasp hornet sting?? pure bleach. Every time one of the kids would decided to take on a bee the bee always won. I'd pour bleach over the sting , instant pain relief and never sweeled once. Just an idea.
I'd have found those poles backing out d-cat along time ago. What canI say?
I'm so excitd now can't ait til DH gets home from work. He'll figure out something so I can see my frogs work. Oops I hearDD pulling in drive........DGB is here. Won't have her tomorrow as DD is off tomorrow so I'll enjoy today. Bye Cherie
Just checking back in for a quick hi before I have to go to PT. And for whoever asked yesterday ... yes, I'm keeping up my exercises but by the 3rd round I'm pretty sore at the end of the day. McCool I think you asked about the improvement in my typing and the reason my typing has been better is they took the splint because they said it was an improper fit and had to order a child's one? Anyway, I only wear it at night and when I type ... not all day. Whew!
Oh Defoe ... sure hate to hear about your mishap. I'm sending the 2X4 for you to use on your DH. :-) I am glad you weren't hurt.
CC, congrats on your win! I don't think I've ever won anything in my life. Oh, a frog? How adorable! Maybe you can take a pic when you get it all hooked up.
Vicky, so sorry about your bee sting. I'll have to remember all these good suggestions, though. Hope you didn't get them too late to be of some good.
Well, got to get up and finish getting ready. Catch y'all later.
Oh, the DH brought home chicken wraps for lunch. :-) He's such a sweetie. ;)
Bye for now.
~Elaine~
My apologies to everyone for whining this morning. Just a bad start to the week.
thanks all for the advice. i was at neighbors when it happened. sprayed myself with the handy hose and went in her house and made a baking soda paste. that did the trick. went home with a wet back. was going to use her dryer while i watered the inside plants but she left a load of clothes in it. lemon would of smelled nice. keep in mind for the next time though. cece congrats on your win. frogs are so cute.
defoe sorry about the mishap. seems like there are alot of DH's like that. speaking from experience.
M5, I guess I'm joining you in taking Sarv's place with the ice cream. Bought 2 tubs at the store today (WHO in their right mind with a truck and NO AC buys ice cream in today's heat?) and just had a cup after dinner. Yum. First ice cream in many months!
Darius - You can whine to me personally whenever you want. I love my DS with all my heart but if we're left alone in the same room longer than 3 hours.......well just let me day it isn't pretty. Course I belive its because there's 16 years difference between us almost a complete generation and her ideas and mine simply don't mesh. And because we're both McDonalds we each think our way of looking at things are the only wy to look at them. She doesn't agree with how I run my life and I don't agree with how she runs hers. Same family different worlds apart. Its dod what you do for that person but don't expect a thank you cuz there's always something else you should have been doing.
UH was the trip home a long one? no ac and a long trip I believe a cup of ice cream ha.
Darius - you have a point about being a newcomer. But it sure is a shame about the art work. You have no need to apologize for your post this morning. We're all here to listen and sympathize.
Twyla - glad you are feeling a bit better.
Mary, still coughing a bit, but making progress. Stayed inside all day doing web site updates. Very pleasant out now. I think I'll go out and garden a bit.
Bonnie - I'll have to remember lemon for stings. Generally use a cortizone cream but it might not always be available.
Cherie - now you need a pond. LOL Fun to win something, though.
Elaine - hope your PT went OK. Once you improve some try massage therapy. I did damage to my rotator cuff in a freak accident nearly 5 years ago. Did much PT, but in the end, massage therapy helped a lot too.
Well I've spent the day starting the update on my web pages. Have the first page of hostas done and uploaded. Now each hosta has a larger picture and information page when you click on it.
URL is http://www.magma.ca/~fredrkng/Ann/Ann_hostas06.html
Page 2 isn't done yet.
It seems pleasant outside; so I think I'll go work out there for awhile.
BBL
Ann
Vi-ann My husband has different ideas. Was great to win it. Finally put it back in the box and put it on a shelf in the garage. Believe me, he'll feel pretty sheepish in a week or so. Subtle, subtle.
LOL Darius, your ice cream couldn't be any worse off than what I bought today. DH brought in groceries from the trunk, which I did appreciate. About an hour later he comes in with the insulated bag I put the ice cream in and said, " I suppose you want this in, too...."
I glanced over my shoulder and said, yes. Thought he put it in the freezer....no. Left it sitting on the utility cart. Felt a little soupy....Honestly! Men!
I do love my DS, but if we tried to live together one of us would end up dead. She tends to do all kinds of chores early in the day, plans her dinner before breakfast, has every hour scheduled..........while I sit around in my jammies, thinking of things to avoid doing, finishing a book, playing in DG. She is kind of in a hurry when she does things and often doesn't do the necessary prep and planning, like wall papering, or painting. I tend to plot each step of the way, primer, wall washing etc. We are an odd but not complimentary pair. She's older by 14 months but you'd think it was years, and we didn't even grow up together! And of course when we get together we get even more like our selves...but we are always ready to fall into a fit of giggles over something.
Bonnie, good job on the side mirror. LOL My DD's driveway has an odd curve in it and I can't tell you how many times I've almost backed into the ditch getting out of there. Lately, I've been passing the drive a bit, and backing in like I do at home. Then when I leave I've got clear view and never get off the blacktop. When I back in I can see the garage doors in the rearview mirror. Backing out, (downhill) I have NO point of reference and always screw it up.
Guy came to pick up the Maverick today. They came up from Little Rock, kid and his mother. Car is drivable so they'll just caravan back home. I was kidding her about coming up North to cool off. It was up to 80 this afternoon so the A/C went back on. Nice this morning though.
Cece once your DH sees that frog, he will want to make a pond for you right away, I just know it. Tell him you took a poll and we said you should have one.
Chicken salad with grapes and apples in it for dinner. Bought peaches today for a pie but never got around to making the pastry. Tomorrow tomorrow....
Sheila
Cherie- LOL on the 'subtle, subtle'... I have this on my own DH and it usually works eventually. HA!
Darius- Dont blame you a bit. I definately couldnt live w/ my DS. We have been known to cut shopping trips short cause we're sick of each other. She lives a totally different life than me and we just dont get each other usually, but try to be civil since we are the only siblings.
Elaine - I have never had the prob. you are dealing with now with your PT so I cant speak from experience, but I do hope it gets better soon and good luck with the new brace thats being ordered. Hopefully it will fit more comfortably this time. We have gotten rain 3 days in the past week and were very much in need of it. I tried to blow some of those rain clouds over your way as requested and I guess it worked. LOL
I dont get to comment too much during the week because of my work monday through friday, but I do try to keep up with your posts. DH goes to school 4 nights a week and gets home after 10 on Tues and Thurs. so I have some free time to do whatever tonight if the kids will stay occupied. LOL
Better go ahead and send this as it is getting too long.
Cece- Tell your husband you already have the funds for the pond via the cyber coffee can! LOL
Congrats cc, I would love to see a pic of that frog, sounds really pretty. I've never won anything in my life, nice to know that someone does win occassionally.
I01, don't need the 2x4, when I got home, after reminding him of his mishaps, he was okay. Men just like to grumble, I think to remind themselves that that is what they are supposed to do.
Darius, don't apologize, that's part of the official duties of GOB's, be there whenever anybody wants to vent. Probably averts many blow ups with the actual person, as you have already said it, and gotten it off your chest.
Ves, how is the sting site? Several years ago I got stung by a yellow jacket and it hurt for days.
Viann, good work on the web page. It would appear to take a lot of work. Great job.
M5, aren't those insulated bags the berries. Now I don't feel like I have to race home to get the freezer items in before they melt.
Katym, glad to see that you put your free time to good "educational Use", by joining us here.
I have everything ready for my sister's arrival tomorrow. She is my twin sister, and we get along famously. Then I have another older sister, that if left in the same room with her for an extended period of time, there would probaly be blood, and hair all over the place. She is 7 years older, and when we were at home, we physically fought often. She used to try to make me and twin do all the work at home, then claim to mom that she did it all. Well we took it for awhile, and then twin and I decided that she needed a lesson. So one day we got in an argument about who was going to do what around the house, and twin and I jumped her and beat the crap out of her, and as well as I remember, that sort of stopped the claiming to do it all. We still don't see eye to eye,but try to keep it civil if for no other reason than DM.
Well, gonna do some reading, a good book started, so will be back later to start the thread.
