Well, the creek keeps rising. Must be rain somewhere although it looks like we will get more too.

Bonnie, we have no flash flood warnings (unless my weather alert radio is kaput) but it sure looks like we should. Don't drive into swollen waters!

(may I have some of that extra rain ya'll are getting? I'll share with the others that need it too! - she whispers softly)

102 degrees at 2:30 and we don't even talk about humidity! It has finally cooled down a bit and a few clouds are wandering around, but nothing really promising as yet. Maybe tomorrow? It is 7:40 and still 92 degrees!!!!!! HELP I'm melting!

I must report that we really did have a fun day yesterday, in spite of the heat. My DB and Mom spent the afternoon and evening with us - the meal turned out just right and all in all, it was a great day.

I have kept up on all the activities, but other than best wishes to all for better health/weather/general conditions I can't remember enough to be more specific.

good evening to all,

Was outside for awhile this evening. VERY warm. And I didn't do anything overly strenuous - moved one Heuchera and one Hosta and mulched and got water on everything. We've had so much rain that it's hard to believe how dry everything was. A quick bath and I'm sitting here in my jammies. Will head to the basement to watch TV and crochet.

Didn't have so much coughing today; so I followed Dr's advice and didn't fill the prescription right away. We'll see how much coughing I do overnight.

Dorothy, I guess it was about 87 but feeling more like 91 here today. Not too far from what you had and similar for tomorrow. I think I'm gonna sew myself a terrycloth sweat band to keep sweat from running onto my glasses.

I'll wave to all who I've not addressed ~~~~~~ Hope you all have a good night.

LOL Ann I know about the sweaty/fogged glasses...I guess a sweatband is a good idea. Today I realized why anyone ever wore muumuus...LOLOL , I wanted a long lightweight tent, nothing touching my skin. Can't imagine those 100's.

Hello all!! I am just checking in for the 1st time today. I have had a rough day from the start. DS is still running the high fever and I took him to the Dr. today and she said there is a "fever virus" going around and couldnt find any infections or anything else wrong with him and determined that he must have this virus. So pretty much all I can do is wait for it to pass. Also had to go in to work today because we were very busy and my boss didnt appreciate it at all and even was rude enough to make an ugly comment about me cutting out to take DS to the Dr. when things were so busy at the office!!! THE NERVE!!!!!

Anyway it is now the weekend and I dont have to deal w/ work for two days and my boss is on vacation all next week so I dont have to see her then either...Hurray!! Hopefully next week will be an improvement and that is what I keep telling myself. =)

I did read all of your posts just now, but will not comment on all of them now. Glad to see you all made it through the heat today. It hovered around 100 degrees here most of the day.

Will check back in tomorrow a.m. Goodnight for now.

Viann, while you are doing your sweatband, add me to the list that needs one. I tie a bandana around my head, but in no time at all it is soaked.

The Thunder Gods are still rumbling here. Had almost 2 inches of rain in a short period of time. Still sprinkling, and is supposed to rain all night. Not complaining mind you, as we had been watering several times a day. tgif and I01, wish I could send ya all some of mine. Blowing, huffing and puffing, hope you get some.

Sarv, Hi there, tell us what you are doing. Glad that you have internet connections, and are able to get in touch. Keep us posted.

Darius, no danger of me driving in water. Just makes no sense to me why people do that. Is your creek still running and muddy? If I were you, I would ask about the possibility of flooding, so you can be prepared.

Sorry, folks, it is gonna be an early night for me, the bursitis in my hip is just killing me, and I think I have a pain pill, that will help with the sleep so will be back in a few with the new daily.

Hi everybody,

Hot and miserable here too. I almost want to go back to my store --- but not quite. The air conditioning didn't seem to be doing a very good job, but once I went outside and knew what it was up against, I was surprised that it was almost holding its own. At least we haven't had any really bad thunderstorms or any flooding in this area. Glad that some of you had some needed rain anyway. I do wish the rain would carry on to some of the driest areas though. CRS has set in again, so I don't remember who said it, but I too, am constantly amazed at how dry everything is so soon after we were half drowned by the constant rain!

Maria, so glad that you're enjoying your vacation. Please give my regards to Ernie and his wife for me as well.

Many thanks to everyone who has asked about my DH. The swelling has definitely gone down and the doctor seems pleased with his progress. The biggest problem is that we've now been told that it could take another month to six weeks for his feet to entirely heal. He's already getting pretty antsy and is bored to tears. I really don't think that there's any way he's going to stay off his feet for that long (outside of a straitjacket, that is). We think that he is eligible for short-term disability through Trader Joe's. I sure hope so since that would mean that we'd have a little bit of money coming in until he's able to work again. Once his toes aren't swollen any more, he can get the special shoes prescribed, but since they have to take measurements it will have to wait until his feet are back to normal. Meanwhile, there's no way I can keep up with all my own work and the stuff that he usually takes care of. I'm beginning to think that I'd better buy a scythe as the lawnmower will probably balk at the hayfield my yard has become!

I just got an order today for fifteen champagne candles to be used in wedding centerpieces. On the one hand --- yippee, great order ---- on the other #$%^* I'm out of the glassware to make up that many. Needless to say, I ordered a bunch of them today. I had stocked up on the martini and margarita glasses, expecting those to be the fastest movers. Murphy's Law strikes again. Boy, am I glad that this wedding won't be until December! She wants these ahead of time in order to make up the centerpieces, but that should still give me plenty of time.

Well, there go all my good intentions of responding to everyone. I find that my brain is going numb again and will have to just ~~~~~~~~~goodnight to all.
