Well, the link is here, but is not highlighted, what oh what is the problem? It is almost the middle of the month, and I am still bumbling. Good night all, hope you find your way here.

Deatsville, AL(Zone 8a)

Dishes are done, clothes and etc. ready for tomorrow morning. Will go load the coffee-maker and have it ready for wake up and go time tomorrow. Must go to bed now for an early start. Nite-Nite yall.

I had a busy day off. Drs. appt this am. Didn't get home till after 12. There was an accident and an older guy, 70, was killed on a farm, his son found him and my doc is county coroner so he was running late. And I have to go see a 'plumber' - his words. Apparently my UTI s are not UTI s. He believes I have interstitial cystitis. What a mouthful! The bad news is there is no cure and I probably will be messing with this the rest of my life. Yuk!! They will first go and look with a scope to see for sure what it is and how bad it is. There is a pill that helps about 30% of sufferers. And 90% of IC peeps are women. Big surprise, eh? So I am a bit bummed, to put it mildly. (wry grin)

DH got his stitches out of his head yesterday and is feeling poorly today. I was worried it was head related but I think it was a bug.

And last night got a call that an aunt passed on about 9 pm so tmr I'm leaving work 2 hours early to serve supper between the afternoon and evening visitations. I have to pick up another aunt and uncle first, then pick up MIL. I hope it's not going to be too much for them. The cousin isn't going to be there until 7 pm to pick up the aunt and uncle. She's 84 and he's 93! We shall see... They have comfy couches and chairs in the Fellowship Hall so I hope it will be ok.

Big Happy Birthday to You, Mary!!!!!!!!!!! Have a wonderful day! :)

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

Linda And I got a call from Maria tonight she had a good flight and as it neared she crossed the Cascade Mountian Range it seperates Eastern from Western Washington and I can immagine it was georgous as she said. The tops are still snow covered and with the sun setting on them she said it reminded her of Austria lol then she said it became foggy and hard to see lol hello Pudget Sound. Day one was a good day at Pike Street Market lol she wanted to see the famous fish market there she said it was neat, She also loved the thousands of flowers on sale there she said many many kinds.

She will call tomorrow night with more adventures.

Have some fresh Washington sweet cherries they are delish I have two sour pie cherry trees and one Black Lambert and a Royal Anne. I planted that in 1984 because thats what we had when I was a boy and I decided I wanted that again anyway the tree was huge or was I just small lol this tree is bigger funny thing about memories. One thing for sure though these are yummy.

This is Gabby she is a sweet heart my 12 year old miss perfect she is daddys girl and Jenny and Andy know it lol Andy is ok with that but Jenny says me to me to ha ha

Goooood Morning, coffees ready, am I the only one up on the morning side?

south of Grand Rapid, MI(Zone 5a)

Morning everyone - I take back what I said about our weatherman - we DID have 2 in of rain! It was a nice, gentle rain that lasted for several hours. Things are well soaked now, but look pretty soggy actually! But now the temps are spiking - 90's for several days - you can practically cut the air with a knife - it is so thick. I imagine we'll have a bountiful hatch of japanese beetles now!

Several of my plants have that 'I need something' look - light green foliage etc. I've given them messenger and mighty plant, but obviously they need something else. It is funny as my veggies are doing great color wise and I give them nothing, it's the flowers that have the funky coloring. Any suggestions?

Is it Mary's BD? Bring out the cake with candles!! Have a good one!!

Hope, sounds like you are making progress with the tooth situation - just make sure your friend gets ahold of the dentist. You know we're here for you..

Eweed- thanks for the update on Maria. How in the world did she ever decide to fly out to see you? That is quite a trip. Is she traveling by herself or with someone? Keep us up to date!!

Today will be a busy one here. I have a dentist appt in the morning (requiring a xanax!!) Hope - I wish you could go in my place!! I hate going there....I've not done things they told me I had to, so I know it won't be pleasant... Then I have to hit the grocery store for stuff for camping. There's a nice Meijers up where we are going, so if I forget something I can buzz to the store. I've also checked out three places that have WiFi, so I may be able to check in!! Wouldn't that be fun!!

Well, no new coons, despite a big meal of salmon waiting. But it did rain all night, so maybe they were holed up safe and sound. Tonight will be our last trapping session- we don't want to leave the traps out when we're not home to take care of them.

Time for some breakfast- waaaa I am out of bagels...

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Good morning,

I'm up. Still have the cold. Will book off the Food Cupboard today, but have to go to a training session for Chamber Music Festival volunteers this evening because it's the LAST one. I had conflicts with all the other dates. Still debating whether I'll stop by a walk-in clinic. If it's just a cold an antibiotic won't do any good.

Twyla - if welfare will help you with the teeth, accept the help. That's what it's there for and you know there are some people who will take the help who might need it as badly as you do. Hope you get this resolved quickly. I'm concerned how long it has gone on and how an infection might be affecting your overall health.

Eweed - thanks for the report on Maria. Glad she got to see some of the Cascades - they can be quite spectacular. How long is she in Seattle?

Kooger - you have quite a day a head of you. Bummer on the IC. Let us know how it works out. And good luck with all you have to do today.

I'm off to breakfast. I'll have some of those sweet cherries, please.

Mary - hope you have a great day. Happy Birthday.

Ann

Good Morning!
Happy BIrthday Mary!! Have a great day!

Sounds like Maria's having fun, good for her.

Ernie-great picture of the pups in the pool. Glad they're not spoiled.

sarv-Hooray for the rain! Would you believe after all the flooding it's dry as dust now? Well, of course you would, everything seems to go in extremes.

Ann- You don' t even slow down when you're sick, do you? Take it easy! And take Vit C and I hope you're feeling better soon.

Twyla-How are you today? You should take whatever help you can to get those teeth fixed quickly.

Kooger- Sorry to hear it's IC and we're all going to keep everything crossed that you're one of the 30% who respond to the medication. It will be a long day, I'll be thinking of you.

It's hazy here, did my garden walk and fed horses while the coffee was perking. Here's Max (he's 13) waiting at the door with some of the mess o' flowers

Morning everyone. I am up and working on my first cup of coffee still. Wish I could have slept a little longer. LOL

The cherries everyone keeps mentioning sound lovely!! We cant grow them here since it is so hot it would just fry them.... but I have purchased them at the market when shipped from off somewhere cooler.

Well, got to go and wake the kids up and get them dressed . Then its off to work with me. I shall be back this afternoon hopefully if not too overloaded with the kids when I get back home.

~~~~to everyone!! have a great day and happy gardening :)
Waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)
Hello and good morning. Hope everyone has a wonderful and fullfilling day. Cherie
Pleasureville, KY(Zone 6a)
Gosh, it's Mary's birthday and I forgot to get her a gift!! Happy birthday anyway, hope it is a good one.
Hope, good wishes for your friend finding a dentist for you. Please accept whatever help is available, this is compromising your over-all health.
Sarv, maybe you got the whole darn coon family already. So maybe all the good stuff is safe now. What kind of things were you supposed to be doing prior to the dentist appointment?
dmc, great shot of the dog and "whole mess of flowers".
ernie, keep us posted on Maria's doings. Love your dogs swimming pool pic.
kooger, sorry to hear of the IC, hope your system responds to the medication. Sounds like you have a full day chauffering relatives. Hope they don't tire out.
~~~ to podster, cc, katym, and others who I may have missed.

I am off to do the grocery/errand day thing. We had rain overnight, and it is overcast, so better take the umbrella with me, hope it remembers it's function and keeps me dry. It's been awhile since it saw the light of day.

I will check in when I return, hope all has a good morning.

Happy Birthday Mary!!

Jim Falls, WI(Zone 4a)

morning everyone!! was a rough night. hubby snored all night and i either have a sinus headach or a migraine. 1st cup of coffee hasn't helped. have breakfast soon and go outside and see what the [i call them chipmunks] groundsquirrels have done to my flowerbed in the back and what the moles have done to the one in the front.
question: we have a live trap for squirrels-can it be set up for the ground squirrels?
eweed the dogs are great! my dog is scared of water.

dmcdevitt your flowers are so pretty and the setting looks so cool. like you can set down and take a break and cool off.

hi cherie glad you got your flowerbed done before the heatwave. now it's just keeping it watered in this heat that's coming. we didn't get any of that rain. so it's going to be fun keeping everything watered. i plan on finishing that bed today that i started cleanin g yesterday. after that i'm not sure. we'll see how my head does.

have a good day and everybody take care today.

Schroon Lake, NY(Zone 4a)

ves, are you getting a heat wave? You should not be too much hotter than me. I do like shade myself, which is a conflict with all the gardens!

Jim Falls, WI(Zone 4a)

it's suppose to get around 93 today lots of sun and hotter tomorrow. i don't know about humidity.
i've got only one shade spot in my garden. otherwise mostly sun. especially afternoon.

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

dmc - I've barely been out of the house in the last two days. Being sick is a good opportunity to sit in front of the computer and catch up on housekeeping - getting rid of old files, getting the viola society membership records up to date, etc.

Ann

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Good morning everyone. Thanks for the birthday wishes. It looks like a beautiful day and not as hot as yesterday. Tonight hubby is taking me out to dinner.

Ernie, thanks for the update on Maria's travels. I have a couple of friends who sell their artwork at the Pike Place Market. When she is back online I will ask her if she remembers seeing their booths. One does pottery, the other cloisenart jewelery. I know them because they are both endurance riders. I'm glad she got a beautiful day flying over the Cascades. When is she coming to your house?

Great doggie pictures! LOL at the swimming pool with decoy duck!

Dmc, your flowers are beautiful. I like (and have) variety. I'm convinced I need some delphiniums. Yesterday I never did get to the nursery, it was just too hot and I came home to cool off. I might get there before the season is over.

ViAnn, I hope you feel better soon. Take it easy when you can. You didn't mention aquafit so maybe skipping that is your slow down until you are feeling better.

I read about the tilde ~ and it seems we have a unique use for it.

Kooger, I hope your condition can be helped with the medication. I sure don't envy you on the exploring appointment, but I hope what they see is not too bad.

Time to get breakfast for my hubby and then run out to move the sprinklers. This kind of weather takes lots of water, and I'm thankful for a good well.

Waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

ves522 you didn't get rain yesterday? We did it wasn't a powerful knock you down kind but it rained. Cloudy now but suppose to clear up.High of 73. Were' not expecting 90's til sat or sun with humidity (according to weather channel which changes their mind every hour on the hour).

I got my camera back!! whoooo now I've taken pics of my gardens to show because there are so many beautiful pics shown on here and am hoping mine will make the grade, only I don't know how to do it and D15yoS is gone til friday, can anybody help me?????? PLEASE????? There are 2 pics of my wildflower garden of plants that I have no idea what they are. They could be just weeds growing taller because I'm babying them.
Hope everyone who is feling poorly gets better real soon.

Is it still morning? I've been slacking off after my hard work yesterday...had a great dinner last night and brought home leftovers besides. I still have a houseguest. ...and he is still on his best behavior.

Bonnie, it must be your computer!! Something isn't working right for you. Did you get a new phone? Luckily the price has gone down on the cordless ones now. I think I still have some old corded phones in the basement with all the other junk I should get rid of. If I had to use one with a cord, I'd probably pull it right off the wall, or table, talking and walking away from the base!

Kooger, bummer diagnosis! Hope sincerely you are in the 30% who rspond well to the meds. Scope doesn't sound like a good time either.. Sad news about your aunt, we have no elders left in our family...the rest of us are becoming them.

Ernie, thanks for the update on Maria, tell her we miss her. What a darling pair of pooches! Is the little one Andy or Jenny? Adorable faces!

Happy Birthday Mary! enjoy your dinner tonight. I love the mix of flowers there, I love big messes of flowers all happy together.

Sarv, they told you like they tell me, floss, rinse with the nasty stuff, blah blah blah and then they ask me if I did it and I lie. Sounds like a good spot for camping, groceries nearby and internet hook up. How many are going this time?

Twyla, I hope you find a cooperative dentist and get that taken care of. I went through a lot of that and I empathize with you. It's just miserable having mouth pain.

V'ann, consider the possibility that you could have developed some allergies...saw a health report that said more people are getting them this year who never had them before. A cold should only hang around for a week, if it's longer you should see if it's really a cold or something else. Sinus drainage can make your throat sore...yuck.

Cece, what happened to my rain? We didn't get a drop!! I know, it went to the East Coast again where they don't need it. We have a well too, other wise everything would be brown by now. And it's gonna get HOT before the weekend. Maybe even later today.

Ves, we had chippies in front of the house until we dug it up and put down the landscape fabric and mulch. Now it seems they've relocated to the tiered rock wall, as I spotted one little fella this morning.

I need to get in the shower and get dressed, ~~~~ at everybody, see you later.

Sheila

Hi all
Just wanted to come over and say happy birthday to Mary. I sure hope you have a wonderful day. so glad the dh is taking you out for supper tonight. Please let us know what you have ... you know how we love to drool. LOL

defoe, sounds like you have another busy day as usual. I dont understand what is going on with the link. Let me know what your computer guy says.

sarv, I hope you have managed to catch all those horrid things now ... and just in time it sounds like. . did you ever get the automatic watering system to do like you wanted

ernie, thanks so much for letting us hear from Maria. Its so good to know she is okay and having fun. I know she is so excited about her trip.

Okay, Im not going to try to respond to everyone. My typing is slow and Im still having trouble finding some of my keys with this blasted thing on my hand. :-) I have Pt later today.

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

M5, everyone should keep an old corded phone for use when the power is out. I have one in a box out on the porch and will be sure to put it where I can find it.

Ernie, thanks for relaying Maria's jaunt so far. I visited the Pike's Market once years ago and was very impressed. Puts Baltimore's Lexington Market to shame on sheer size and variety.

I love all the flower photos everyone is posting. Maybe next year I will have some flowers here.

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Sheila - I have some allergies, but this is a cold and a dandy one. One of the side benefits of being a grandparent. The grandtwins were both on medication last week and had coughs, but I thought they'd had theirs long enough that they wouldn't be particularly contageous. Wonder how many other kids at the camp they infected!

Anyway, the usual allergy tickle in the throat became more insistent last Thursday evening; so I'm not a week yet. Throat isn't really sore today - just irritated from coughing; so I'll continue to stay away from people for the most part and catch up on other things. If I still have it next week I'll drop by a walk-in clinic. My own Dr is on vacation for July and is in the west end of town anyway; so I'll go to a local clinic if I need to. Best to stay away if I can because I reckon it's a good place to get additional bugs.

Darius - good point about the corded phones and power outages. I only had a couple I could use 3 years ago in the big northeast blackout in August. I also enjoyed Pike's market when in Seattle a few years ago. Can't comment on Baltimore.

Elaine - we'll have to get you some voice activated equipment for your computer while you are in that splint. Hope it helps.

Cece, good luck with the photos.

It's a grey day here. I think we'll have showers. I want to move some hostas; so I think I'll go do it.

Ann

Maria just called and said hi to everyone!!! She is having such a wonderful time. She is excited about being at Ernie's tomorrow! Says it's cool out there and the flowers are beautiful. Lot's of big salmon.

hehehe Ann, I cheated and took the blasted thing off so I could type my !!! marks :-) Will be good next time. LOL

Jim Falls, WI(Zone 4a)

just got back in the house. the humidity must be 99%okay maybe 97%. did some deadheading, fed the fish, picked peas, looked at the bed to finish, no new damage from the critters. all is right in my world.

dawson[dog]kept looking at me to come in the house. he doesn't do good in the heat.

cherie glad you got your camera back. i'm waiting for your pictures. hope your
new bed makes it after all the work.

meezer love the pic. i was looking and there he was. little buggers!!!

i didn't have carpultunnel but it took over a year to get over my tendonitis. that was 10 yrs. ago and i can still feel it sometimes. hope yours does better.

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Elaine, put that blasted thing back on and behave yourself! Next thing we know you will be out there pulling weeds without the brace. Thanks for the Maria update, it is so nice of her to call you.

ViAnn, LOL at your remark about your cold being one of the side effects of being a grandparent. I emagine lots of the kids at the camp have the bug by now. Please don't cough or sneeze on the keyboard.

This morning already I've cut back a whole bunch of old roses, they are like the wild ones but have double white flowers. They just finished blooming, so I went out to cut down the old stalks to give the flower bed more light. I didn't do that last year and so the flowers in the foreground don't look so good this year, but I have lilies there that I thought had croaked because they didn't come up at all last year. They're pretty floppy but alive and blooming. The western kingbirds who have a nest nearby sure gave me a piece of their little minds while I was out there doing that. They are great bug catchers. We put up nesting shelves under the eves since they and the olive sided flycatchers nest on ledges. I think the same pairs use them every year.

Time to move the sprinklers again and take Breezy for a short ride. By then it will be sprinkler time again.

Lambertville, NJ(Zone 6a)

Happy Birthday Mary!

Dmc, I think I missed your birthday over the weekend. Sorry, Happy Belated Birthday! Your flower pictures are so pretty!

I've been trying to keep up with reading the posts, but havn't taken time to respond. Sorry!

Yesterday I left work an hour early and went to meet a new DG'r. Her family has a farm stand right outside the town where I work. We really didn't have much chance to chat since the stand was very busy. I did buy some sweet corn and a salvia plant.

The weeds in my veggie garden have gotten way out of control. I have been spending the last two evenings after work trying to catch up with that. Last night it was so humid that I had to tie a bandana around my forehead to keep the sweet from dripping into my eyes and onto my glasses. YUCK! The next few days are supposed to be misserable here. 90 or higher and lots of humidity.

Kooger - So sorry to hear about your IC. Hope you respond well to the meds.

Glad Maria is having a good trip.

M5 - What a cute little Chipmunk. We don't have them here, but have seen them when we go camping. One place we went in Vermont, they would come up on your lap for a peanut.

Twyla - Hope your at the dentist getting those teeth fixed! Let us know how you're doing.

Gotta run for now. Have a great afternoon! ~~~~to ya!

Schroon Lake, NY(Zone 4a)

m5-love the chippie picture. Wouldn't he make a nice squeaky toy for Sammi and olivia? LOL (sorry. my cats love watching chippies)

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Mary - you have roses? Would you have a look at a request I put on the Rose forum last night. Zero responses. I got a gorgeous rose and really don't know what the best way is to support it.

Afternoon everyone- oh my gosh, the humidy here is awful and the sun isn't even out...pant pant. I went to the dentist and had NO cavities!! yahoo..Hygenist who I've gone to forever told me her husband just passed away of a massive heart attack and they were younger than us!! She said her DH mother and father and uncles and brothers had all passed away before 50 yrs of age from heart stuff. He lived a tad longer, but not much - had 10 bypasses. Puts live into perspective

M5- ya she ragged on me and told me she could TELL that I hadn;t been doing what she told me to do. I shamefully promised that I would do it this time....I do brush and floss - isn't that enough...sheesh!! There are 7 families going camping... 23 plus some visitors...big campfire!!

We had that beautiful rain and when I drove in the yard today I saw something swarming all over the yard (2 acres of it) It was Japanese Beetles. We had been having some, but not many, but now you don't even want to walk across the yard!! And just in time for us leaving. I'll return to a skeleton of a garden... wahhhhhh...There are literally thousands of them - mating too!!

IO1- do we have to use the 2x4 on you too!! now follow the dr.'s orders.

Pshaw - I thought I could use the libraries computers up where we were camping, but they don't recognize my library card. Oh drat....wonder if I could twist their arm??? I'll smile nicely and see what happens.

Speaking of allergies- I've been off my pills for several days and feel fine. Must be what ever was bugging me has left!
Glad Maria is having a good time - wish I was adventuresome like her. I'm a dud at doing things alone. If something happens to DH, I'll have to hook up with someone just to do something!! LOL

My automatic watering is all set up and seems to be working!! But with temps in the 90's (says it will feel like 100) I am not sure it will keep up....

Time to pack some clothes!!

Pleasureville, KY(Zone 6a)

Back from the grocery, have put things away, and am blanching some green beans to can. So no time to comment, except to say, glad Maria is having a good trip, and so nice of her to call someone to say hi!

When I get the beans on, I will come back and comment to all.

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Hi again...Tonight is my night to sleep at the hospital for the Sleep Apnea test. They say it takes an hour to hook up all the electrodes! My appointment is for 9 pm but I need to get there earlier because I do not drive well after dark.

They will be ready to take off the electrodes in the morning about 2 hours before I am ready to get up.

I will be leaving lots of dry food out for my cat AND strict orders she is to protect the house.

Speaking of house protection, my yard man has 9 week old MinPins crossed with maybe a beagle and wants to give me one. Anyone familiar with the breed? With it being warm and the carpets taken up, this might be a good time to housebreak a puppy. (Am I too old to do this again?)

Twyla

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Darius - hope you get to sleep during that test. I'm sure I never would with everything hooked up to me.

Twyla - hope you get the teeth looked after. How much will it cost you? There must be some way to get help with the costs, but it's something you have to do. You can't just go on this way.

Better go look after dinner. Volunteer training session is at 6:30.

Ann

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Twyla, when I lived in Asheville the Public Health people would only treat minors with dental problems. However, they referred me to a Christian Ministry that had dentists (free) 2 evenings a week.The rest was a free health clinic. The wait was often long but the service was good. About 15 churches supported it.

You might check to see if there's something like that in Tulsa.

south of Grand Rapid, MI(Zone 5a)

Hi!! Time for dinner, but so far nothing has appeared on my table!! LOL I've been busy packing the trailer and we got the push out on the trailer to work, so all is well. The only problem now is the DH doesn't want to take our boat - so that means no fishing for me. I'm ticked as I love to fish. He tells me there isn't room for one more adult in DS's boat. I told him we would share- he would go one time and me the next- that went over like a lead balloon. We may have a major disagreement before we take off- I'm keeping the 2x5 handy just in case.

Hope, good luck with the dentist. Stick it on the credit card if you must, but get it done so you don't get sicker. Maybe if you tell the dentist your situation, he won't charge you so much. As long as you pay a little something monthly he should be satisfied. Also check out what Darius mentioned!

Darius- I never sleep well in a new place and would probably be up all night - new place and things hooked up to my body!! Good luck!

Kooger, good luck with everything (loved your pun by the way LOL) The old 'hose' thing isn't the worse thing I've done, but not the nicest either!

Well, off to the store to buy some Sevin to spray the beetles. grrr, I almost wish I was staying home...

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Well Pooh! They are setting up an old fashioned gospel sing in the field next door to my house and it will probably start about the time I need to leave for my sleep study test.

I did get to hear "How Great Thou Art" as part of testing the speakers.
