Never mind Bill, I think the issue has been resolved. Thanks for your opinion though. Natty=curled + twisted (at least in my mind). As to older people, they might know what you mean by: reefer-ing to. My parents do and they're 66 and 63 respectively. I guess you do to. Yet still, this is a pretty descriptive name for a contored and twisted needled shrub. The other 'hip' one on the market right now is: Pinus strobus 'Green Twist' which is or came from a witches' broom from a Pinus strobus 'Contorta' - I think. I do know it was found growing at Bickelhaupt. Here's a photo of this neat little broom from last October, 2005.
