i have loved the thread on pink foliage plants and enjoyed the wonderful photos a lot of you posted : ) now lets see your purple foliage. can you tell pink and purple are my favorite colors lol : ) thanks for sharing in advance!!!

I have a couple and the ones in the sun get quite purple.

You could be right. I hate that because I posted a photo on C. somaliensis and it was accepted. I will have to check further.

Just ask to have it moved. I posted an incorrectly identified plant too. Basically, they do not have time to check them all so we all have to tell one another when things seem to be incorrectly identified. I love this plant. The first year I had it and it died back to the dirt in the fall, I almost cried but it immediately started coming up again.

The friend that gave it to me told me what it was? Guess not. Mine is left outdoors all winter and comes back every spring. She had hers in an old egg basket and it would come back too.

I moved these together to snap pic. Nicer when mixed with other plants. Dixie

Here is my Persian Shield Strobilanthes dyerianus. This is my third year of this plant, and one of my very favorite.

I love Persian Shield. I have tried twice to grow unsuccessfully. As you are in Houston, I guess I can't blame it on my heat/humidity. Must be operator error.

Here is Plectranthus Zulu wonder. It has lavender blooms.

A red blooming Christmas cactus. It was from the 25 cent dead plant shelf so I do not know the cultivar.

Podster, Plectranthus Mona Lavender is probably my favorite purple plant. A true shade lover, it is almost black. It blooms so long for me that it really only blooms every other year but what a show!!

look at that christmas cactus! mine has a little pink in foliage from sun but nothing amazing as that!!!!

my wandering jew. not exactly at it's brightest moment, but has some wonderful purple and green color. Maybe I'll try and get a close up for later.

Ditto to the Persian Shields - gotta love that color!! Not cold hardy though...so has to come back in this fall...doesn't like the sun light either, at least here. Lots of water and very filtered sun.

Hmmm...not exactly "foliage" but how about some baby aloes with their winter colors a few months ago?

I know - arent' they pretty? Never knew they even turned colors...can't take any credit as that was the color they were when I purchased them. Jeff is a wonderful seller on ebay - I've always been thrilled with his plants!!

Nice purple color on Callisia fragrans.

More purple on the underside of the leaves of Ledebouria socialis, scilla violacea or wood hyacinth.

I know you've already been so generous with me but should you have a couple extra cuttings of that (is it easy to root?) I would be thrilled...I've been eye-balling it at my home depot for the last two weeks...LOL!! Let me know if you have enough to share...if not, no worries.
