Ok, this is a CHEAT big time. Box of hoya heaven arrived from the Pimpette today and what do I pull out?

Three days closed up in a box, on who knows how many different transports and she comes out blooming.....what a sweet thing.

Really love this hoya. I lost my first H. davidcummingii about a year ago. My fault as I did a hasty repot and didn't get the plants crown deep enough into the soil. Won't make the same mistake again.

Have to read up on this plant as I see something very interesting about the corona.....more later....

H. benguetensis bloomed for the first time too. Love the maroon corona and the peachy color of the petals. I think this could easily become a favorite.

Anyone know what hoya section this plant belongs to? I can go dig for it but I'm wondering if H. benguetensis is related to H. sp. Phillipines, and is H. siarie also of the same section? I'm thinking leaf shape and veination but I know the similarities don't necessarily mean anything. I really should take a better look at my "material" and compare the veination on the leaves before I start yapping...

Photo did not turn out the way I wanted.

Oh, H. finlaysonii is also blooming..

Susan, that is one gorgeous hoya! Lovely colours!

Isn't benguetensis in the same group as bordenii? I haven't found any info on what group that is, but I would also like to know.

Susan your flowers are just gorgeous. I like the color combination of the benguetensis. Very pretty.

I have a small bordenii I got from Kartuz, and recently got the benguentensis from our own QP (lol), and the leaves ARE very much alike. I have not had a bloom on either, so don't know if they are the same or not. Don't care if they are or not, or if they ever bloom. I LOVE those leaves. The flowers would just be a great bonus.

Christina, that is beautiful!!! I'm going to show your picture to mine and encourage it to do the same.
Stunning, stunning, stunning. Did I mention ... stunning!
Ann

Wow, Christina, that's so beautiful! I'd love to see it once the flowers are fully open. Do they open wide, or do they bend back (can't remember the term)? And thanks to a mix-up in an order, I have one!

Christine, I believe the blooms are what is termed "campanulate" (bell shaped), but the tips do "recurve" (curl backwards). Note: I am not exactly sure if they "recurve" or "reflex."

That glossary is coming in handy!!!

Here's a yellow caudata for you... Has no fragrance at all, but my white one has a faint smell of something nice, don't know what.

Thanks for the comments about siariae. It doesn't really open that much more. Will check them tomorrow just in case!

Cool looking H. caudata. Is that the one that normally blooms white or is it a different clone, Christina?

Also still planning on investigating the H. bordenii / H. benguetensis connection. Was checking out http://www.swedishhoyasociety.com/eng/tidningen.htm
and noticed the issue with H. bordenii, H. benguetensis.

I'm thinking I would like to subscribe and try to get some back issues. My Swedish couldn't help but improve.
