Midwest Lilies 4

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

The backlighting on Starfighter really shows off it's vivid colors.

You know, I plan to move all of the above orientals, because they're all in my mostly shady locations, but they sure have looked pretty this year and Starfighter was lovely last year, as well. (The others are new this year.) I'll miss the wonderful fragrance of them all, because where I have to move them is way at the back of our property. Oh well, I'd rather have them there than not at all!

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Yeah, I know what you mean... I have to move some so they can get more sun ~ that means away from the house and patio. :(

Hey Wanda, did you get my msg on your answering machine? :)

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

No, my daughter told me about it this week~! Sorry I missed you. If you give me a day's notice, I can usually be there. Gardening heavy & not online much right now---I'll dmail you my office number so I don't miss you next time.

Sweet of you, DH likes to do these spur of the moment trips, buy something on ebay, run to IL or WI, etc. Course I could not even remember anyone else's last name, just yours. Was planning on giving 'Nessie' a good pat on the head, watching that garden so well! :)

Your lilies are looking wonderful Wanda. Mine are about done. Black Beauty is about the only one still blooming.

Can't seem to get a good shot of this Bright Star aurelian yet. It's new & short & I have no where to lay down to photograph it.

Wanda, I kind of question your pic of "Bright Star". Following is a picture of mine.
Height over 5' and just finished blooming. It is an O/P

I couldn't find many pics of Bright Star but there is one in the PF http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/97754/

Maxine, your pic looks a lot like Luminaries (scroll down about half way) http://thelilygarden.com/pages_lilies/orienpet_1.html

Moby, will check and see where I purchased the last 2 bulbs of this lily. I have 5 of this lily but have had it for around 5 yrs. and it was sold as "Bright Star" O/P

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

It is definitely not an Orienpet in my yard--small leaves and smallish down -turned blooms with re-curved petals. It is listed as "Aurelian". The first two blooms had the deep gold marks, but I didn't get out there in time. This bloom is kind of faded.

Black Beauty with Dizzy. I didn't remember them blooming together before this year, but I really like how they compliment one another.
