Well not perfect, but it is good enough to post in on July 2, 2006.

Thanks to all who were holding their breath, you can breathe now!!.

Good night all.

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

dfc -And a good night to you too! I guess you hit the hay before you got my last dmail. That's ok, have a wonderful sleep! :) And the same to everyone else. I'm waiting for the two youngest to arrive home so am up for awhile yet. The turkeys said they'd be home last night, waiting till 2 am, they did not call! Finally called at 7 am, woke me up and then they went to a lake and goofed off all day. Now they are on their way here. You would think that after not seeing us for 5 weeks, they'd come home? NO! I guess that's reality, 22 and 17 yr olds would rather go to a lake. (wry grin) (stinkers!)

Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)

Whoooo hoooo you did it!!! Not so bad eh???

Hopefully I will actually have time to post something intelligent here soon.

Now it's time for lights out AGAIN....

btw, I have so much Gadzukes Squash I am up to my ears in the stuff and I don't know what to do with it all. I will post a picture and you will all be amazed. LOL

July 1st yesterday - http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/621223/#new

Pleasureville, KY(Zone 6a)

kooger just brought to my attention that the hyperlink isn't working. I will try to get that right tomorrow. Any body have instructions to give.

I hat to think of a day with no chat, and it will be my fault.

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

No problem, dfc, the chat will be there and even without the link, it's not much trouble to go to Parking Lot and find it. You are absolutely too hard on yourself. :)

Himrod, NY(Zone 6a)

I think I get the worm this morning!! Thanks Kooger for helping D'cat, I had just been wondering what was going on in your life. Was going to post and ask if anyone had heard from you!! So how are things? The DGD and that situation? It is good to see you!

Had a good day at market yesterday. Somehow the powers that be at market goofed and had TV ads saying we are open on the 3rd NOT SO only the 4th. That should really help if people drive 50 miles and find us closed. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr! If most of us vendors didn't know better it would seem the "board" was trying to destroy our 20 year old market.

Must get moving......kitchen is a mess (didn't have the energy to move much last night), then get on to church, feed the momma who has not been wanting to eat lately (so hard on dad) and then a late lunch with a new friend and son. I am looking forward to the lunch and getting to know them better!

Read everything and have prayed, Ohhhhh, Ahhhhed, sighed, muttered on behalf of all. Special (((((Critter))))) and Maria I read it all!!!

Have a glorious day~~~~~~to all.

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Maria, I read it all too.

V-Ann, I'd try straight bleach or maybe clorox clean-up on the moldy plywood. It will dry faster. At Molly's suggestion, I used a paint layer of Kilz 2 (latex sealer) on my sub-flooring after I took up the carpet. It sealed the old pet stains nicely. I have a similar situation with mold on the lower part of a wall in the room added on the back and will use clorox clean-up.

Bonnie, to do a good hyperlink, copy the URL on the page and paste it in the new page.

I have 2 helpers coming today but think I will postpone them. I drank an energy booster drink last night about 10 pm and was awake until 4 am. Think I will plan a long afternoon nap!

~~~~ have a great day!
Hi all,
A lot of rain last night, but nice and sunny today. Have to work on a downspout which I think is drowning my Jackamani Clematis. It's been LOADED with blooms the last few years. This year it started off strong and then I noticed about half of it was wilted and dying off. I though there was just a break in a major branch. But the rest of the plant seems to be gradually doing the same thing. The downspout from the back of the house empties near it and in an average summer has been an advantage. But I've now decided that we've had so much rain this year that it's probably being drowned. Need to get something to divert the flow of water and cross my fingers that we can save the plant.
Thanks for the advice on the plywood. We'll try straight bleach.
Go to relinquish computer to DH; so I'll BBL.
Hi, I'm back
Will be WARM this afternoon, but there is quite a breeze. It will keep down mosquitoes and sweat too, I hope. Frony garden is almost completely shaded; so I can work out there without too much sun screen. Need to get garden edged and mulch applied. I'm using the cocoa mulch. All dogs are supposed to be on a leash and I'm not using it everywhere. But it, once it gets wet and dries, forms a nice edging that works well in places where I will be planting things next year. I find the cedar mulch is too heavy and is better suited to places where I WON'T be planting much.
McCool, if nobody else comes forward for August, splitting the month will work. I just might have to be reminded. The beginning of August is in the middle of the International Chamber Music Festival when I'm probably out to 30 concerts over the two weeks. Doesn't mean I'll be totally off the computer though.
Well off to garden. Then to figure out lunches for the munchkins when they are at day camp this week, and also start looking at possible music to play in church next week. My name is up for summer music.
Hope you all have a good afternoon.
Ann---- I read what you said about the 1-4 bleach mix on the hosta forum. At first I thought well maybe it applies to Canada since that is where the news letter came from you mentioned. My need to experiment however got the best of me and I wanted to see what would be the effects of the Full strength bleach on something. I wiped a few leaves on one hosta with full strength bleach yeasterday afternoon as of right now there has been no change in those leaves.
What i want to know about the bleach if it hits a slug will it kill it as well as a poison. I am thinking of going out after dark with a 2 gallon garden sprayer and really work some of the hosta over with it. I will experiment first with the virus X plant first. Going to try 1/2 gal of bleach to 2 gals of water first time. If there is no effect I will move to 50% in about a week.
Disregard the above Ann tells me it was amonia water. I thought it was bleach. I will I was thinking about prior slug conversations.
No, No, No, Oz.
It was 1:4 AMMONIA: water.
The bleach is for something entirely different. I shudder to think what the bleach would do to my hostas. Please go back and edit your post above before people start pouring bleach over their lovely plants.
waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)
Is it still morning?....kind of overslept due to the cats dancing on the bed at 2: a.m. Must have been a celebration for one of them catching a mouse...(flea source?) We suspect Olivia, as she is well armed and fast as a speeding bullet, Souky is too high and mighty to touch a real mouse, Mini is too slow and fat, and Sammi, well, he'd probably sit and watch it until he fell asleep. We caught quite a few the first year here, but haven't seen any lately. Whoever caught it went and put it in the litter box. LOL
It's not morning anymore but it was when I started this. DH is out planting two trees, and I'm watering, braising ribs, making sauce and trying to get caught up on everything! Went out for breakfast but with this muggy heat I didn't feel like eating much, then I took a nap when we got home, so that pretty much wasted the morning.
Dcat, I hunted through past links to see if I could find the instructions that GG gave me when I did the daily, but couldn't find them, and then couldn't find the notes I made for myself. As I recall, after a couple of booboos, I finally got it right, and after that I was ok. Except for trying to remember to post the new thread in the evening. I probably put the instructions someplace safe.
V'ann, we can get those downspout extensions that are made of plastic that unroll when water starts coming down, they run out about four feet which would help divert some of the rainwater. I've given up on clematis although I love them, after killing three in successive years it seems more merciful to just let other people grow them! I'd use straight bleach on the plywood too, but after it dried, I'd use the KILZ product as Darius suggested, to seal the surface because mold spores like to hide deep in porous wood.
Kooger, that's just like kids.... someday they will have their own and then it will be their turn to sit and worry and wonder and wait. Serve them right. Mine used to walk in the door and check the refrigerator contents before they even said hello!
Oh golly, I'd hate to think of bleach on anyone's hosta!! Oz, go to the garden store and get some Sluggo, it's a super killer for slugs and won't add any kind of toxin to your vegetables or plants. They get overloaded with the iron content and croak. Lasts a long time too.
I have one egg plant that seems to be doing well. I think DH has something against my growing moonflowers! I went to water the planters in the back which have the beans, egg plant, and misc. flowers in them, and found he stuck two orphan solar lights right where I had put the four remaining moonflower seeds!! Gotta watch him like a hawk!!
Darius, an energy drink at bedtime!!! Planning on working the night shift?? I get nailed once in a while at a late dinner in a restaurant when the decaf has been contaminated with regular coffee because they want to start a new pot and not waste the dregs ...so they dump it in the decaf. I don't even try that anymore!
Big thank you to Elaine for doing the monthly for July! And the offer of more vidalia relish! They have an 800 number on the jar so I bet I can order it directly from them. We can get the onions up here early in May, and I stock plenty and freeze quite a quantity diced, so I always have some on hand in one form or another. Thanks for the offer, though. It is so yummy on a hot dog! I could probably skip the dog and just eat the bun and the relish!!
~~~ to everyone I haven't mentioned, and lurkers, and newbies, have a great day. I need to go read my Sunday papers, which I pick up on Saturday, so I'm already a day behind......I feel like the white rabbit,... I'm late , I'm late....etc.

Pleasureville, KY(Zone 6a)

Good afternoon all, it has been a laid back kind on day here. Took DM to church, then home, to a pot roast, potatoes, carrots, fresh green beans, my first ripe tomato, and rolls. After I got the kitchen cleaned, I hit the couch and took a nap. DH has gone to the little community church that only has services 2 sunday afternoons a month, but I skipped today. This canning has really tired me out. When DH gets home, we have some pool maintenance to do, so after that, we go to another church tonight.

I am still trying to figure out this daily thread starting. Can't figure out why the hyperlink doesn't show up green. Anybody have any ideas? I will figure it out, but if anybody has suggestions, let me know.

M5, maybe you put those instructions with that coffee for safe keeping. About the cats on the bed, maybe they were celebrating, anyhow, just move them aside and let them celebrate while you sleep.

Mr B had to go out for one last time last night (ooops,this morning) about 1:30, and he had to stay out all night, cause I went to bed and left him, as he wasn't answereing my calling him. He was very glad to see me this morning.

Well gotta go practice some more thread starting, so that I get it right tonight.

I will be back later.

Gravois Mills, MO(Zone 6a)

M5----- I got real good slug control but I just got the bleach and the ammonia mixed up. Like I told Ann shows how much I know about house keeping. I know that bleach will kill stuff like mold. However I had been seeing things about bleach and plants prior to this. The odd thing is, I did take pure bleach and painted it onto a few leaves of a hosta yeasterday afternoon and as yet nothing has happened. I have used bleach at 1-10 on plants before. The hosta I am doing this on is a highly suspect hostaX plant and it will not hurt if I kill it. It puzzels me why it will kill some plants and not others.

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

Those DSs finally got here abt midnight, and teh 17 yr old goes downstairs to bed without coming back to even say hi! grr! and the 22yr old dropped him off in the driveway and left to go back to Sioux Falls!!!! Oh, they just tick me off!

Steve is all upset because Kandyce told him it's over on Fri night so I guess I must cut him some slack but I still told him that he was behaving very rudely. The least he could have done was come in and say HI to his 'poor old worrying' mother and then say he wanted to go back to SF. He's really upset, apparently she's been seen with this other guy the past two weeks and have him overnight, etc. She is living exactly the way her mother raised her - different guy in the house anytime there was an issue with the last boyfriend. K. said she wanted to break that pattern but I don't think she's able to yet. Who knows, makes us all sad for her and DS. And of course baby k. She spent the wknd at the neighbor's again. Tough situation.

I'm going to try call her because I really want to make sure that she gets that 3 month followup MRI done. It's vital that she be vigilant! I was reading on the ependy site recently and the longest post-op survivor w/o reoccurence is 11 years. Now, not everyone who has had ependymoma tumors are members of the ependy group but it does give an indication of the seriousness of the illness. And to come out of surgery with NO deficits is almost unheard of!! I wish she realized how special she is. I ache for her and baby k.

And still no word on the paternity issue. In some way, I wish DS was the dad because then I could have more influence in k.'s well-being. On the flip-side, I know it will involve a lot of work and some day even possibly having her living with us permanently if we are her grandparents. If Kandyce continues in her destructive behavior, she will, someday, lose baby k. I'd like to be there as a constant, steady influence for her. We shall see...

On a happier note, the lilies are blooming their heads off! hurrah! I'll have lilies in bloom for the next two months- oh joy!!! Here is a new one for me, I think it is gorgeous, compliments of llilyfan.

This afternoon I need to get working on the parade stuff. As chairman again, I am behind in lining up announcers and judges, etc. I better get at it. Have a wonderful day all!

Pleasureville, KY(Zone 6a)

Kooger, that is so sad, and complicated also. You know we all want fixes overnight, but sometimes the fixes come slowly, and over a good period of time. If that is the way she was raised, then she probably sees nothing wrong with her behavior. Sometimes, when children are involved, the wises thing to do is concentrate of instilling values and morals there instead of trying to encourage rehab in the adults. I will keep you in my t&p's.

On a sad note also, DH has a niece who has a natural child, and wanted to adopt another. Went through a long process, and adopted one from China. Since she has issues with flying, her husband and his sister picked the baby up 2 weeks ago, and brought her home. DH's niece, has apparently had a nervous breakdown with all the stress of this process, and cannot take care of the baby. Has to have someone with her, as she doesn't even want to hold it. Just heard this afternoon that Child Protective Services, has removed the baby from their home until she is better able to cope with the situation. How very sad, that an unwanted child in China, may turn into a unwanted one here. Poor, poor child.

Well gotta run as church is in 45 minutes.

BBL

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Hello everyone.

Defoe, thanks for starting the link today. It will get easier I'm sure.

Kooger and defoe, what sad situations with parents who can't cope and youngsters involved who need lots of TLC. We see it everywhere, unfortunately, it seems that we all know somebody who has problems like this, and the poor kids are the real loosers. Kooger, I hope you can be in a position to help with the baby if Kandyce defaults on parenthood. Is a paternity test in the works?

Kooger, that daylily is beautiful. I didn't know they came with speckled patterns, it looks like somebody shook a paintbrush at it.

This morning we went to a church service in our city park. Several churches participated in a "God and Country" service where we sang hymns, gospel choruses and the national anthem, pledged allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, heard a good sermon and had a hamburger feed afterward to support youth activities. I guess you could say that we have a real redneck community here. I can remember standing with my hand over my heart reciting the pledge of allegiance every morning to begin the school day. After 9th grade I was in a different school system and we only did that on Veterins day or near Memorial Day.

Today is hot again, but not as muggy as yesterday. I have sprinklers going, and will pull a few more weeds after it cools off, otherwise, it is a day of rest. However, I just happened to think that I had better see if my squash patch needs to be watered, the sprinkler I was using down in the garden yesterday just barely reached the edge of it because of the wind blowing the water the wrong way, and so I'm sure I do need to hand water the squash.

This morning I looked to see what AmandaPanda was doing sitting in the flower bed looking so proud of herself. She was guarding a dead weasel. I'm quite sure one of the other cats caught it, (she is more into pouncing on bugs in the grass and isn't a big game hunter yet), but she was claiming it. I left her with it and went to take a shower, came back outside about half an hour later and she had it in the middle of a clump of tall phlox which are now kind of flattened. I decided she had had enough fun with it, and put it in the burn barrel. I hope whatever fleas it had stayed with the carcass.

Darius, I'm glad to hear that you met a nice neighbor, and that you are connected with people you can hire to help with getting your new place into shape. Those sport energy drinks really do interfere with a person's sleep when the timing isn't right. Been there, done that. Tea with caffene also had robbed me of sleep and caused me to be more careful about things like that. Last year somebody at one of my rides gave me a can of that energy stuff, I drank it and felt better immediately, but then after I went to bed, dead tired, I couldn't sleep for another 3 or 4 hours. She told me there was no caffene in it, but I should have read the label, it had gensing.

Maria, I also had read all of that post you thought you had lost, and then when I came to your comment about loosing the post I wondered what was going on.

Have a good evening. ~~ to all I missed.

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

Hi Mary,
AP had me chuckling! She may be an excellent mouser some day!

The lily is not a daylily, it is an LA hybrid lily - 'Suncrest' - it is so pretty, I'm tickled to go out and look at it everyday! lol I think I'll bring in a bouquet of lilies to work tmr. They're so pretty they should be shared. :)

and yes, the paternity test is in the works but not back yet. The suspected/expected? father, a third cousin, denied it at first and but has now acknowledged he was present. The testing will confirm it and start child support payments.

dfc - oh my, how sad is that! Will drugs and therapy help her? and the baby, wow, are they still going to try and adopt? another dicey situation and the child always loses! sad, sad

Hi all, thought I posted this morning but it's been so busy the past few days, although I get on to read and see how everyone's doing, I seem to get interrupted. I know I started a few posts. Okay, here's another try.

Mary-i'm picturing AP with her weasel, so proud; Would love to see another picture of her soon!!

kooger- you are such an inspiration with your kindness towards K and k. I am sorry for your disappointment in kids not even stopping in. I know that feeling. Love the lily!! I wish you all the best in your efforts to help little kayleigh.

defoecat-I hope DH's niece gets herself together. This may just be a setback for her. The baby will be taken care of I'm sure. Sad though. Life is complicated, isn't it?

Oh boy, have to run again. Spent the day mowing at the farm = 7 hours on the tractor in the sun, I'm sunburnt and tired, but tonight we're going to see Oklahoma at a local theatre. Better get cleaned up.
You know what though? I LOVED spending the day mowing at the farm. Wish I had haying equipment.

I agree, Twyla... you always post inspiration no matter what's happening in your life!

Hi all
Have been lurking today. Not much going on. We've been lazy ... didn't even go to church.

Joy, so sorry about the mix up with the TV ads saying you are open on the 3rd. Isn't that just like the press not being able to get things straight. LOL
Susan, it's sure good to see you back again. You stay away much toooo long. Do come back and tell us what you've been up to.

Speaking of people that's been MIA ... Kelly popped in a couple of weeks ago but hasn't been back either. We need to go drag her back, also. :-)

Hi Ann, hope you can figure out a way to save your Jackamani Clematis. It sure sounds pretty, although I must admit to never growing one. I made the mistake of using some of that cedar mulch and found it much too heavy, also. Won't use it again.

LOL Meezers at the night time party at your house last night! Hope you got some shut eye this afternoon.

Kooger, so sorry about all the kid troubles. It's sooo sad when Mama's and Daddy's can't work out their differences as the poor kids are the ones to suffer in the long run. I hope you have the opportunity to offer a stable environment and positive influence on baby K. I know all this is hard on you. Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Defoe, was so sorry to hear about your family situation, also. It's so so sad to hear about these situations when you personally know of people who are hurting and are desperate to have children of their own. I do try not to question God as I know he always has a purpose, but when you see children hurting it's just so hard to understand sometimes.

Mary, you may be a part of a "red neck community" but if that's what it is ... then I'm a part of one too. :-) I too remember pledging allegiance to the flag and saying the Lord's Prayer in school. Kids were swatted on the bottom for bad behavior as that was before Dr. Spock came along.

dmc hope you have a good time at the show.

Hi hope ... that's a long drive. Sure hope you feel better soon. You deserve a rest after taking care of the kids.

Okay, I've made it through the posts for once. If I missed anyone it sure wasn't my intention. I always love hearing what everyone has been up to. :-) Guess I better post this in case it decides to go poof!

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Hello again. Kooger, I just looked up the LA lilies to see what they are. Oh boy, now I have to have some of those. My first lilies were some orange ones with recurved petals and lots of spots. A friend gave me some a few years ago, and I see that White Flower Farm has the same type in yellow. Same shape anyhow, I don't remember if those had spots. I looked at so many pretty ones, now they all run together. I think I will have to buy one (or maybe 2) of their collections this fall. Last fall I planted something from the local discount store, it was supposed to be orange, it is yellow. I wonder who does their plant selection/labeling? I guess I get what I pay for.

Going out now to tie up the flattened phlox. I also learned at the WFF site that lilies like cool feet. Some of mine are in the sun with hot feet, poor things need mulch. Have to tend to that while I'm out there. Always have something to do out there.

Hope, I sure do like the inspiring things you post. This last one makes me think of something I hear my hubby telling people quite often: It is impossible to think two opposing thoughts at the same time, so if we are thankful we can't also be complaining.

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Hi follks,

I'lll write a bit and then I'm gonna go read. Might get to bed early. Didn't sleep so well last night. DH seemed to think it was cool enough to open windows and turn off the AC - NOT. And it rained all night which was noisy.

I got the entire front garden edged today and got half of it mulched with the cocoa beans. Did the edging on the last half only this evening; so it still needs mulch. Also spread another bag of cedar mulch in one garden and have one more ready to go in the middle of the new garden. It always looks so nice with a crisp edge to the garden and I find once a year is adequate to maintain it pretty well.

Also got some branches pruned out of my lilacs. There is one more major branch I want to take out, but we'll do it in two weeks. Yard wasted pick-up is tomorrow and then not again for two weeks.

To those with family problems - I hope that they get sorted out, especially when small children are involved.

Kelly has been popping in regulary on hostas forum. I think she's been busy with her new gardens.

Mary, I'm another who can remember daily recitations of the Pledge of Allegiance. I can also remember when they INSERTED the words "under God" that give so many people difficulty now days.

OK, I'm a city person. How big is a weasel? My mental picture of one is something that would be rather large for a cat to catch. Does my mental image need to be ammended?

~~~ to anyone who may be lurking or who I did not address directly.
Hope you all have a good night.
Well lets try this again.....Hi all. Been digging up a new flower bed and trying to get it amended up alot so I can get it planted but he heat drove me in, so I'll finish that in the morning.
Twyla, I too love your quotes and look forward to them.
Mary I too remember reciting the Pledge in school untill I hit High school and then it "was'nt necessary" why I never found out. But I came from a mountain grade school to the city for high school so that may have been why. How is Patch doing?? AP must have been soooo proud of her kill, even if she did'nt kill it...
Sheila, I am off untill Wedneday and do you think my little dog will let me sleep in...NO!!! the alarm is supposed to go off at 2:30 and I am being woke at 3:00a.m. daily....
Kooger I hope all gets easier for you, DS and all. You all are in my thoughts and Prayers....Now to go find some of those beautiful lilies.....
Defoe so sorry to hear about your familys situation as well. I hope it gets better soon...Thoughts and Prayers for you and yours also
Hi,
I will try not to write a novel this time, but we'll see.
Oz, I wore the hat with the big bright hibiscus print band on it and it apparently IS an attractor --- unfortunately, not for humming birds. As soon as I stepped out the door it attracted a big, fat yellowjacket! I really, really hate having those things buzzing around my face. I'm afraid to breathe as I think I'll breathe it in and have it stinging inside my nose. I moved very carefully and slowly after standing still for a couple of minutes and it finally went away -- after which I sprayed myself thoroughly with insect repellant, but a couple of bees still had to check out the hat while I was trying to weed the garden.
Kooger and Bonnie, so sorry for the messed up situations involving the two babies. I guess that the only bright spot would be that it seems so many people are looking to adopt babies that it's very unlikely that either would really end up being unwanted.
I spent most of the day out there either pulling up grass and weeds by hand or bashing them with a triangular hoe that I have. The problem is that I have so many "volunteer" herbs and flowers that almost nothing is in any sort of row and it's hard to nab the weeds without getting some of the plants that I want to keep. Now I'm kind of achey as well as sweaty. Oh well, a good shower and my biggest vice -- the air conditioned bedroom, should take care of that.
Mary, I can just see AP now! Our ginger cat, Tangerine, never minded bringing home second-hand mice either.
Hi to Lauri, hope, Joyous, dmcd, corky, tgif, 9kitty, M5, I01, darius, and V-ann.
Now for the hard part. I might get bumped for this or you might not want to talk to me anymore, but here goes. I too remember the whole pledge of allegiance thing in grammar school, but unlike most of you, for me it was a problem. At the ripe old age of eight I would stand there in the approved posture and keep my mouth firmly closed. I didn't want some confrontation and wouldn't have really known how to handle it, but I knew that if I said those words it would be a lie. Even then I was much more concerned with issues like over-population and pollution and felt more like a citizen of the world (planet, if you like) than of a particular country. I believe in taking responsibility for one's own actions and that you should always follow your conscience first --- even if it 's not the majority view and not particularly comfortable. Can't say I've always lived up to my own expectations, but I do try. Sorry, but it was beginning to make me feel far too cowardly to keep my mouth shut now.
Anyway, goodnight and/or goodbye. Sweet dreams to all.
I too remember when they added the words to the pledge of allegiance, and it was added by Congress, due to what was perceived as the Communist threat. I felt at the time that it was unnecessary, as it is today. It is unfortunate that the McCarthy (that repulsive man was from my own state) era made our legislators feel that it was necessary. Any child can pray in school, silently to God, or Allah, or whatever deity their religion honors but I don't feel that required prayer is serving any educational purpose. I know it's a minority opinion, but I didn't want McCool to be floating out here alone, with her dissent. And, I do suggest we drop the topic as it may be seen by ADmin. as controversial, and we don't want to get ourselves in a bind.
I admire people who profess Christian ethics and live up to them, like many of our dear friends here, but I also have known many who live in a fashion that would shame anyone with a conscience, and still go make a show of themselves at their church. Enough from me. Off my soap box.
I was heading for bed and just stopped to catch up, and here I am blathering again....now I am going to bed, the pets are waiting, and looking at me to see if I'm heading that way. I am.
say Good Night Gracie...good luck posting tomorrow's thread Bonnie, maybe I should call you in the morning and talk you through it, I'm sure I could do it that way...or maybe I'll be lucky and find my notes...and the coffee?
Well, I am finally able to sit and post. DH came home from the garden about 8:30, with 3 buckets of beans. We broke 2 of them, and after taking a break, and me thinking that it would wait until morning, I am at the computer, and he is in front of the tv breaking the 3rd bucket of beans. So you all know what I will be doing tomorrow, and I had so hoped to get other things done.
McCool, don't feel bad that you have followed your conscience. I grew up in a small rural community, and the pledge of Allegiance and daily Bible readings were the start of the school day. I do kinda of get hostil when there are people who are trying to take "In God we Trust" from our money, prayer from school (which was done years ago) and prayer from graduation and sports events. Major controversy this year at neighboring county Baccularate ceremony. One girl brought in the ACLU to prevent any prayer, but the seniors stood and recited the Lord's Prayer in unison prior to the ceremony. GOOD FOR THEM, if that was what their heart's dictated.
Mary, I would have like to see AP and the weasel. Bet she was as proud as could be.
Hope, you always have the quotations ready, and they are very inspirational to me. Keep them coming.
Sarv, sounds like the camping trip went well. When I looked at your picture, The thought that you could have been your own parade went through my mind. Some communities would be envious of the length of your rig, if it was in their parade.
Lauriewilson, new flower beds are lots of work, but so worth it. Hope you finish tomorrow.
ViAnn, would you please come and edge my beds, seems like I got them created, planted, and I keep them weeded, but can never find the time to edge them.
dmc, you don't want haying equipment, well maybe the equipment, but haying is too much work. Can remember the days at home on the farm. If you need hay, use a local contractor. Unless you have scads here, it is the only way to justify the cost of the equipment.
Joyous, hope you have a good holiday with the store. Maybe it will be a bonanza to you.
Kooger, thanks for the help last night (oops this morning) with the thread.
~~~ to Oz, Corky, Darius, tgif, and anybody else I may have missed.

When is Carat supposed to be back? And Babs, we haven't heard from her for awhile. Hope all is well with them.

I will be back later to start tomorrow's thread.

The lilies were so pretty, I tried to make an arrangement to share at work. I am NOT good at this sort of thing, but am willing to blunder along as I just have to share such beauty! so you don't have to feel obligated to complement me on the arrangement, truly it sucks, lol, but pls enjoy the beauty of the lilies, I did nothing but plunk them in the ground and they grow. :)
