O/T Excited My NEW Addiction & want to share it You !

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Thanks April ! Right now their outside on the Deck/ramp where many more could live. And we want to plant some more in the ground for landscaping.
We have several other bromelaids growing in our yard. Some Hubby had when I met him. A couple are blooming now. We gave one to the park owners wife she collects them big time and said they are hard for her to get this type anymore. This was last year. And she gave us several other types. Some are growing in a garden bed covered with coleus and pointsettas . Hubby will did them out one of these days. When we planted them there in was an empty spot. And she said they will go good there. I can see them they grew a lot.
She gave us lot's of the air "Tillandsias" ones you can just put in your trees. but they blew away last year during the hurricanes. We have like evergreen trees and bushes she said just stick them in .
I really like the colorful Neoregelia best !

Lorry the pups you sent me are they not Cryptanthus ?
Their real small have not grown much ?
Eunice sent me a CRYPTANTHUS BIVITTATUS and it has really grown and has pups. Cryptanthus has like little spikes on their edges. Another thing I like about colorful Neoregelia is their smooth foliage.
The Vriesea Gigantea I'd love to have hassilky smooth foliage

That fireball is sure amazing! I am just worried that you are going to run out of room and put your DH out on the deck! LOL I know that you wouldn't but if you need the extra room it's a thought!

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

No there's lot's of room on the deck/ramp :)) And in the garden beds too :))
I should know in a week or two if I might get even more room . WInk Wink ~~
Oh yes I forgot we also have a screen room. Hubby just put all new screen, door and all and painted . It gets real nice morning sun. So outdoor potted and hanging plants can go in there too !
BUT no more room inside now...
Plus these kind of plants don't need the kind of care AV's do. And anything I have Hubby take or plant outside he takes care of HEhehe :))

Secret Gardens sell some too but you can't get them to del. or answer emails...But they have some pictures
They also have NEOREGELIA 'FIREBALL'
Small dark red plants produced on stolons, blue flowers on long lasting plants. Makes grand specimen plants up to 8' across with individual plants only 6" tall! A must for every collection
Cool so this one will have stolons and blue flowers. Their cost a lottle more for 4 inch pot. ~
They also have NEOREGELIA 'GIANT FIREBALL'
Like 'Fireball' except plants are up to 8" across

6 inch pots $9.50
And they also have NEOREGELIA FIREBALL VARIEGATED
Red with lighter red stripes on same compact plant as Fireball.

4 inch pots $9.95
I'm sure this variegated one is pretty. Your plant could become variegated if not in Full sun.
At different web sights I have seen different 'Fireball'
NEOREGELIA ~ I am so happy to have two of them for now. Neoregelia Rossi Fireball and Neoregelia Fireball

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

Yup the fireballs do (I just didn't know all those varieties were fireball) I bought them without knowing the name of some of them :)
I guess I just forgot to send you one :( I am sorry!

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Oh that's Ok. On another Web sight I saw even more named NEOREGELIA ! And other ones with Fireball in the name.
Must be like Buckeye or Wrangler's.
