sorting searches

Hi,

Is there any way to refine searches other than to limit them to a range of forums? For instance, I was looking for an earlier thread on "Hosta Flowers" which had been active last summer. It came up with 81 pages of results in no particular order, as far as I could tell. An element of being able to search for date - either date started or even better, date most recently active, or a key word in the title as opposed to somewhere in the thread might help to narrow the search down.

In my case, I got through about 30 pages of choices using three windows simultaneously (without finding the thread I was looking for) before I started to get "page not found" messages. I had better luck looking at my own previous posts knowing that it was not too long after I became a subscriber last summer. But for those who have subscribed for many years, that could be daunting too.

So, if you have any suggestions or can think of ways to refine this process, I would very much appreciate it.

Thanks,
Ann

You can sort by date of last post (or any of the other column headers in the search results). Just click on the column you want to sort by and it'll do it. Not sure if it's ascending or descending order, but if it's the wrong way then you just start at the last page and work backwards. It only pulls up the date of last post though, so you wouldn't be able to search by when the thread was started.

Great. I'll try that. Didn't see any mention of being able to do so in the FAQ's though.

It might not be in the FAQ, but when you do a search, if you look close right above the table with the search results it says something like Click on a column header to sort.
