A Red baby............

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Remember Red? I sent out lots of seeds, anyone get any blooming yet?

I sure hope she holds her color.

My husband even noticed this one....from afar! LOL

I picked a white flower to show you the darkenss of this one.

It needs longer tendrils and a bigger calyx to get on my hit parade.

But the color I like. LOL

Pretty ugly pot.

Yummy!

Victoria, BC(Zone 8b)

amazing color Kell! Stunning!

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

kell, is that the sanguinea?

Summerville, SC(Zone 8a)

Oh Kell .. that is gorgeous, stunning, dazzling, beautiful and impressive! I'd say more, but it would be redundant!

X

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

Redundant here too Kell! LOL

I'd have to say....it would be the star of my 'hit parade' here in Okla! You're just too critical! :)

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Kell, It is just beautiful. I really love the color!! Congrats to you for another beauty.

Muskegon, MI(Zone 5a)

Kell, on the ugly pot, does it say Equador Pink as a cross?..that is one beautiful brug...Judy

Maben, MS(Zone 7b)

Beautiful, it would be on my hit parade!

Longer tendrils and a bigger calyx to get on your hit parade?
It might not be impossible. I grow 2 seedlings of Rothkirch x Red from your seeds. They are barely a month old, but sometimes in the future, when they bloom, longer tendrils should not be a problem ... it goes with the mix.

Grantsboro, NC(Zone 8b)

Awesome. Love the color.

Lavina

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Everybody has said it Wow what colour, I hope it is a robust bush that produces lots of seeds,I for one want to be on the cutting/seed list if there is one. congrats .

Tyler, TX(Zone 8a)

Kell you have done it again. Joan

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Thanks all. Actually it is Susie who helped this along, I grew her seed out and got Red 2 or 3 years ago.

The trouble with Red was she was so hard to root. Only 2 people got rooted plants from her. I am dying to see what this one will look like where it is humid.

Tonny, I still cannot figure out how my seeds got to a European seedbank. I hope they really are Red seeds but I really doubt it. I wish you lots of luck!! RK will give it the longer tendrils!!

Yes Judy, it is Ecuador Pink. EP seems to lend a brug a deep color, so it makes sense the 2 together would give a dark baby. But I dislike the EP shape myself, which is what this one got somewhat. I am hoping some others from this cross won't have any neck showing.

Laligirl, if you get me that pollen, I will bring you a plant of this........................... Have I told you how I love you lately??? LOL

Northern California, CA(Zone 9a)

Who Me? Blushing! But it might mean a treacherous uphill hike and then dangling off a cliff, (ok I exaggerate a bit), it's a side hill but still dangerous and full of peril (you know what I mean Kell! LOL) to obtain a wee bit of pollen. Hmmm... let me think... Yup, I'd do it for a chance at the Red Beauty!!!

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Oh, be still my heart. It's breathe taking, Kell. You did good.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOl Lali, I knew I had to dangle something hot in front of you. And I have a double pink almost ready for you too. Get more than a wee bit, if you are going to go all the way, you might as well grab a lot. LOL. 3 or 4 blooms will make me love you forever. The plastic bag worked fine. I should mail you forceps and some glassine bags.

Guess what I got today................. gallon Gerhtiis for $13.00. Whoa Nellie. I am such a plant pig.

Thanks Ada, though I really did nothing. If you have good brugs to cross, you are bound to come up with some that are keepers.

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Gee, Kell...mine isn't red and you didn't give me one so it isn't doing as well. ;>) But, hey, we can correct that....can we? Wanna trade?

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

kell ya did it again, it is beautiful

Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

It is sure a hot color. Lots of people like the entire bloom to show.

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

Wow Kell that is beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

Only you Kelly!!! She is awesome!!

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

Oh my kell, I don't think I can live without that one. So if this is a colicy baby that keeps you up all night and doesn't let you get anything done all day. I would be happy to be her nanny. I have references from caring for my DGDs. ;o) LOL

It takes ones breath away.

Blessings,
Sandy ^8^

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

KELL!!!!
I love you too!!!! :-)

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9b)

Wow!

Royse City, TX(Zone 8a)

That color is absolutely amazing. I am soooooooooo jealous.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Nice color. .......... :-)

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Thank you all! Lets hope this one roots easily! Then she can make it to Hawaii, Carol. I sure hope she keeps so dark.

Do you like that whole bloom look Delisa? I like the lower calyx, I think you do too! LOL You almost made me feel better. LOL

And look who is back. TRACEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For newbies, Tracey is a champion brug grower who is currently taking a break. She is also a true pal. I can't wait till she resumes. Hey lady, fancy meeting you here.

Here is a pic I just took of your Pure Love the other night after I talked to you. It is one of my top brugs, I love it that much. And look at the golden hilights. Touched by Gold. Now that is a great name. LOL She is a broad based brug with a full flip and tendrils that reach for the stars. I should go out and take another pic, I bet she has deeper gold hilights now.

What an incredible colour. Congrats.

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

Kell, I am amazed with the color of this seedling! You can really see the e.pink genes in that bloom. Put her pollen on Susanne, and on a yellow-orange double. Didn't Red have Ocre in her genes? Or have I been reading way to much today....

Pure Love is beautiful there, I am shocked to see the yellow undertones, I like it though. I am really tired of studying today, I really hate to wish my life away but... I wish school was over... what was I thinking???? I am too old to be back in school!!!!!

(Mary) Poway, CA(Zone 10a)

You're never too old for school, if that's what you want or need to get to your goal. I know some people in their 60's that are in college. They don't have the distractions that teenagers have and no raging hormones to distract them. LOL They're better students than the kids. Hang in there!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

The only problem with that Mary, is when my hormones left so did my brain. Gone. Just gone. And so forgotten. LOL. I could no longer get thru 1st grade.

Trace, Mary is so right, you will be done soon and reap the benefits. As will your family. I think you are pretty special to have the disciple to go back and the smarts to get thru it all.

I can't remember who Red had for parents. I have it in my computer somewhere.

What double yellow/orange??? Send it to me. LOL And look who is blooming right now, freshly recovered from a bad case of undiagnosed mites, so do not look too close. Speaking of...............Susanne. Sadly, all my pinks at home are so pale right now.

PS: THANKS Jeanne!

And here is Pure Love tonight. I think she is such a beauty. Do you remember who her parents are?

Tyler, TX(Zone 8a)

Pure Love was sure named right. She is beautiful. I do not think I have seen her be for. Your yard must smell like heaven and look like it to. Joan

Brigham City, UT(Zone 5b)

Wow, beauty abounds. Isn't it wonderful to enjoy it so ---- and be so good at bringing it to others to enjoy (and drool over). Marie

Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Yes, I do love the lower calyx the most, but Red baby still looks hot!

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

Red seedling is a beauty, so is Pure Love. Good job.
