My lily show is under way!

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Nice Tammy!! Yeppers, keep them coming! I love seeing what everyone has blooming. I need to be making a list of what I want to find this fall. I'm out to plant new lilies (Gilbert Wild Collections). They should have been in the ground a month ago, but alas, it didn't happen. Better late than never!

Gemini-Sage, I really like your "starburst" .....the colors are really different. Yeah, I believe your eye is right in that mine has more of a plum cast color to it.

Tammy - you've got some pretty ones going on there yourself. I like the variety of different colors you have.

Tammy, do you have a variety for those gorgeous white ones? I plant Lagio last year and they're just about to bloom, but your are sure pretty!

I don't know for sure Revclaus. I definitely bought it from Van Engelen in a Lily Naturalizing collection.
(I checked my records & I did not buy a named variety that looks like it). THe Lagio is one they sell.
Perhaps that it what it is - pls. post a pic so we can compare when it does bloom!

Is this it?

Try posting that link again.

I tried again and preview showed the same thing.

This is the closest I can get you to the actual selection:

From here, select "Asiatic: Longiflorum" and then "Lily Royal Fantasy"

Doing the happy dance here! 'Zeus' opened today and I love it-can't wait to see them mature! Sorry for the blurr, but the position I had to get in for this shot of a 2' tall lily was, ...well...let's just say, challenging, lol.

'Coral Sunset' opened her single bloom today:

Zeus is 2' tall? I may need to get some!!!

My place is full of lily bloom... oooohhhhh I love it. Here we go... Lily Chianti

And a few I stuffed into a bed along the road..

This one I got in a Naturalizing Mix (Asiatic) from Van Engelen. Pretty clear pink

You have some real beauties Tammy! I really love that coral blend too. I had a couple more open today, including this lovely 'Triumphator' (Thanks Margo!).

And this trumpet, that looks more like a longiflorum hybrid than a Chinese trumpet. It was labeled L.speciocum, so there's no telling, but it's a lovely thing I was'nt familiar with.

Oh Tammy, I just remembered, 'Zeus' is in it's 1st year, and was smaller bulbs I got from buggycrazy at a steal. When they mature, they should be over 4'. Another bloom opened today!

That triumphetor is beautiful. I love the pink center fading to pale pink/white!
And its too bad Margo, the enabler isn't seeing these! Neal - you should DMail
her with the link to this thread!

L.citronella is blooming today:

I already posted a shot very similar to this one on the summer bulbs thread, but I was so captivated with 'Triumphator' framed by the astilbes that I took several shots.

Gemini! Very nice! I can see why your were captivated with it and the Astilbes! Very nice. :)

Thanks Diann!

This one opened today, and it's one I've been anticipating. The foliage is in whorls around the stem and is unlike any other lily I have. I believe it's a species.

Could it be L.pardalinum?

I tried to get under it a bit to show the coloring and spotting.

I can't wait to see this big 'Leslie Woodriff' start opening:

I discovered something so exciting (to me anyway)! Zeus is fragrant! I've been on the search for fragrant, early lilies-yippee!

Columbia Heights, MN(Zone 4a)

I would say it is L.pardalinum.

Winchester, KY(Zone 6a)

Cool! It was a surprise from a trade last year.

Lilium, 'Aphrodite' blooming for the first time in my garden.

That's beautiful! Drool, drool.......

Red lilies planted next to catmint( with blue-violet bells) looks so vivid I am planning on moving some red- orange, orange, and peach to the same area interplanted with the nepeta. This nepeta has a WONDERFUL fragrance, too. Not sure what the name of it is but I grew it from T&M seed. It grows about as tall as the lilies.
Wish I had a photo for you, as well as a scratch 'n sniff!

Winchester, KY(Zone 6a)

Aphrodite is lovely Shirley.

I have nepeta with red lilies too! I like it around their ankles.

More have opened in the last few days. Here is 'Casa Rosa'

This longiflorum has been nice:

LA hybrid, 'Menorca' is soft and lovely:

This is 'Volendam' which I believe is a LA hybrid:

This is closer to the true color of 'Volendam'

And this is my wonderfully fragrant OT, 'Orania'. They're a good 6' tall; this is their 2nd year.

And the really exciting thing (for me, I don't get out much, lol) is this year summer has been cooler so far, and the reverse has kept that pinkish blush. It reminds me of a peach melba dessert!

The buds:

All of these lilies are so beautiful! I haven't tried Orania (yet). I like seeing pictures of buds and sides and backs of lilies. I have closeup views of my pardalinum if you want to see them, but I think what you have is pardalinum.
