Hi! I am starting a new shade garden along a hedge at the back of my standard/large city lot. The hedge is straight across most of the yard and my deck overlooks the entire yard. I have a couple of pictures the first is the location of the bed with the plants arranged in somewhat of the design/layout I am considering. I've just traded for a white ginger which gets 4-6' tall. I've represented that with the tall green "shrub" with white dots. The shorter pink items are supposed to be pink pokers and the dark green are ferns.
The rest will be a mix of large, medium and small hosta, lamium, sweet woodruff, helleborus, and two types of yellow grasses.
Do you think this shape is good? How about the placement of the ginger, pink pokers and ferns? The ferns and probably the grasses will be the only thing that make it all the way through the winter. Everything else will die back. I have access to unlimited ferns so can add more of those. I have 8 grass plants total.
Thank you for any advice you can give!
help me with the shape of my hosta/shade garden please!
