Beautiful, BC(Zone 8b)

Hi,

I wish to add the family: Brachytheciaceae, genus: Eurhynchium, species: oreganum (Oregon Beaked Moss) with syn. Eurhynchium oreganum.

Thanks!

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Growin, I added Eurhynchium as a validated genus name. (I confirmed the family is already in the checklist ;o)

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

I've added all but the last. We use the conserved spelling Guaiacum and have an entry for this species here: http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/78421/index.html

Raleigh, NC(Zone 7b)

Could you please add genus "x Hippeastrelia" to family Amaryllidaceae? This is a bigeneric cross of Hippeastrum x Sprekelia so it does need the "X".
(I overlooked this thread and started another previously: http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/730170/ - sorry.)

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Thanks, all. I've added the following genus names to the checklist:

Astartea (Myrtaceae)

Thanks!

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Palmbob, I'm so sorry - I don't know how I didn't see your 6/14 note. At any rate, all the genera requested since 6/14 through 6/27 have been added.

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9b)

Please add: "Muirio" in Aizoaceae
TIA

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Did you mean X Muirio-Gibbaeum?

I can't find anything (specifically in IPNI or ARS/GRIN) that validates Muirio as a genus.

Churchill, Victoria, Australia(Zone 10a)

Terry,
I did a quick search and learned that:

Quoting:
Muirio-Gibbaeum muiroides, a natural hybrid of Muiria hortenseae & Gibbaeum album
http://www.ambientissue.com/djambient/images/SphaeroidInstitute/hammer/dscn1935.html
which strongly implies the existence of a genus Muiria with an a, not an o on the end. Searching for Muiria hortenseae produces lots of results: http://www.google.com.au/search?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&channel=s&hl=en&q=%22Muiria+hortenseae%22&meta=&btnG=Google+Search
Searching for Muirio hortenseae finds only one site: http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&channel=s&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&hs=291&q=%22Muirio+hortenseae%22&btnG=Search&meta=
so perhaps Xenomorf is looking to enter Muiria and not Muirio

Ken

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9b)

The label says "Muirio Gibbaeum", no species.
But the plant looks like this:
http://www.bidorbuy.co.za/jsp/item/Item.jsp?Trade_TradeId=3985863

So it might be "Muiria" instead. But the hybrid, I don't know, because I couldn't find any photos to compare against my photo with ". But I will go with the Hybrid because thats what the label implies.

Here I found a comparison photo of "Muirio-Gibbaeum muiroides" & "Muiria hortenseae"
http://www.djbits.com/djambient/images/SphaeroidInstitute/hammer/dscn1886.html

So I guess it should be "X Muirio-Gibbaeum"
As for using the o or the a, I'm not sure of.

Please add "Namibia" in Aizoaceae
TIA

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Xenomorf, I've added it to the checklist, but I found very few references to this generic name. Please proceed with caution to ensure it isn't in a transitory state with the taoxnomists (e.g., being shuffled to synonym status, etc.)

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9b)

OK, I'll read all the info I can find on it.
It's for the plant Namibia ponderosa
