Davesgarden.com in Southern Living

Oakton, VA(Zone 7a)

Just got my Southern Living June 2006 issue and on page 74, what did I find? A reference to The Garden Watchdog Guide to Gardening by Mail at www. davesgarden.com/gwd. "It rates more than 4,800 mail-order vendors according to service and quality, and you can read actual comments from customers."

Congratulations!

Oh Dave!!! They are talking about YOUR site and didn't even arrange an interview with the man behind the scenes? That's not right! Have you ever gone on local news? You should!

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

It's in the June issue of Sunset too (which is owned by the same people as Southern Living). Except they list the website as www.gardenwatchdog.com, so it's not quite as nice as mentioning DG specifically, but it takes you to the same place.

Oh I love both of those magazines!

I just had this included in a report on the help desk to pass along to Dave in case he didn't know I thought I had seen this posted already so thought I would pass along the message here:

"I don't know if anyone reported to Dave that the "Garden Watch
Dog" forum is mentioned on Page 72 of the June (current newsstand)
edition of Southern Living, as an excellent source to determine the
reputation of a plant mail order company prior to buying. Please pass
along the info, if no one else has noticed the DG credit in Southern
Living. "

Those company's are paying attention too. I had one write to me and thank me for taking the time to comment. He said many DG member's buy from him but few take the time to write their reviews unless they are bad.

You bring up an excellent point, Debbie. We need to be sure to praise companies that do a good job.
