want to see pictures of any foilage with pink in it

Deep East Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

I had a friend that had a variegated hoya with pink in the leaves, not just the new growth. I have picked up two different variegated hoya but they are not like that one. I am hoya illiterate ~ don't know the variations, but love them as they love our heat and bloom freely. Yours was beautiful.

podster, nice pinks...

This is my Jewel Orchid. Not the best picture, but it's basically black with pink veining.

Actually, this is a more recent (and better) picture:

This is my Hawaiian Ti Plant, which unfortunately isn't doing very well because it doesn't like the flouride that Manchester puts in our tap water. I could probably collect rainwater, but I haven't figured out a way to rig that up yet.

Love those colors!!!

These two are nerve plants. This one has light pink veining:

Chantell, aren't they great? I love plants with pink and purple in them, can you tell? :) I also have a Pink Princess, but someone already posted a photo. My purple ones are a purple velvet plant and a purple wandering jew. I also like almost black plants., but they're harder to find.

Kelly,
You've definately got a theme going on there!! Very, very nice!! Re your water issue - some of those chemicals will dissapate (sp?) if you leave the lid off for 24 hours. I don't water any of my plants w/straight out of the tap water. Not sure if it helps or not but I do it just to "make sure." :) You oughta try and do a "group shot" of your plants...if I had room - your pics would certainly inspire me to get some of those you've shown us!!!

Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Hi

Thank you! I can't get a group shot, though, because my regular camera's broken. All I have right now is my cell phone. Besides, I think I have too many to move! :)

I do usually let the water sit for at least 24 hours. I know it works for chlorine, but I'm not sure it works for flouride. .. If it's not the flouride, I don't know what else it is. I don't overwater it, but the bottom leaves are yellowing/browning and dropping off. It's still putting out new leaves like crazy, but from what I understand, it could be the flouride in the water.

Well I finally got my new plants all potted up and I am so happy with them. I love them all.
I don't know what there names are yet, but I am sure you all will help me out.

The first with the pink and cream & green leaves are beautiful...i love them, got it at lowes, they only had 2 of them left and i snatched the best looking one it was 11.99 and i think it was well worth it, (who cares what hubby thinks). this one does have a name it is stromanthe "triostar" Stromanthe sanguinea.

Isn't she wonderful looking... if i can find a way to propogate her then I will for the houseplant III we are having ;o)

Isn't stromanthe wonderful with all its colors? I think I've had mine 4 years now (Lowe's) and is so root bound that I promised to move it up this year. So far it's still in a 10 inch glazed pot for the last couple of years.
